  • Victoria's Secret Very Sexy Makeup Lip Gloss

I never thought packaging would play such a role in a review for a product. This gloss is nice but a little sticky; however, the real issue is that the gloss tends to gather around the neck of the tube and ends up getting all over the place. I can't just throw it in my purse; I always have to wipe it and that is annoying enough to prevent me from purchasing in the future.

Bath & Body Works Signature Collection Body Scrub

Forgot how good this product is!

How I forgot that this was in my shower, I'll never know. One of the things I really like about this scrub is that it isn't oil based; there is no oil residue left on my skin or in my tub! It polishes well, leaves skin very soft and comes in oodles of different fragrances. The price point is a little high, especially for an item that can be found at a drugstore and work just as well. But if you've got the cash, this is a really nice splurge item.

  • Clinique Perfectly Real Makeup

I just love this foundation! This has always been my go to foundation. I have not had any breakouts from this foundation and I love the natural, dewy appearance. It is also very buildable. On the weekends, I use a little less and during the work week or on nights out, I can really amp it up. My skin is combo/oily in the Summer and combo/dry in the winter. Even though I use this all year round, if you have oilier skin, I would stick to use it during the cooler months. During the summer, I usually use a liquid mattifier underneath, along with loose powder. It looks like my skin and the color (shade 10) is a perfect match for me. Also, as far as department store foundations go, the price is very reasonable; around $23-$24 a bottle. Would definitely recommend, especially for those women that don't want to appear cakey or overdone. I would describe the texture/coverage as more than a tinted moisturizer and less than full-coverage. I would say it is light to medium coverage. "Perfectly Real" is exactly what you will look like! I have used this foundation now for several years and I would definitely recommend. I did read some of the reviews and really think a few of them were unjustified. This is a really good product. If my skin was super oily, I would not consider using a tinted moisturizer so I am not sure why others would think it would work, then review the product as a 2 or 3. You should know what you are getting into! :) It would be great if their was more oil control in this make-up, but it isn't really made for oily skin.

  • Veet Hair Removal Gel Cream Pump
    9.0

Veet Hair Removal Gel Cream Pump

    Better than Nair Brazilian Clay!

I was diagnosed with Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome 10 years back, and as a result I am a pro when it comes to hair removal. Before I had my laser hair removal done, I used a combination of razors and/or hair removal creams. For the most part, the only areas I remove hair from now are my legs and arms. I prefer using a hair removal cream for my arms and have been using the Nair Brazilian Clay pump. It has worked as good as can be expected, but I like Veet's version better. I am so surprised with the low reviews! I wonder if some people are not using it correctly? Veet has a low odor, creamy formula that doesn't irritate my skin as much as Nair does, and it also is not as "slimy" when rinsing it off. Some tips to keep in mind with any hair removal cream: 1. The hair must be covered by the lotion thickly. If it isn't, the hair will not come off. 2. One minute prior to rinsing off, redistribute the cream on the area to be removed. The cream/lotion tends to "settle" and the hair needs to be recovered. I just use my hands to recover the hair with the existing cream already on my arms. I couldn't believe what a discovery this was! Up until that point, I would either leave the cream on too long, which causes irritation, or it wouldn't take all of the hair off. 3. Rinse, rinse, rinse. I use a washcloth to rinse the cream and hair off with cool water. I never use the plastic piece that comes with the lotion. I think it would be useless and not as effective as the washcloth. The washcloth is what truly removes the hair because basically this lotion is gently "burning" or dissolving the hair off. Sometimes you can see little hairs that almost do look like they have been singed; this method helps to remove them completely without irritation. 4. If you feel a burning or stinging sensation, remove the cream immediately. It can lead to severe irritation, burns or even scarring. (I have two small scars above my lip from when I was young due to this very reason.) Sometimes our skin can be more sensitive than other times, so be sure to listen to what your body is telling you. If you do find that your skin has become irritated, try rinsing the area with cool water for several minutes, or applying a cool washcloth or cold compress. All in all, I love this version and will definitely repurchase. I have not had any negative experiences with this product. In addition, it was $1-$2 less than Nair. Love that!

  • CoverGirl & Olay Tone Rehab 2-in-1 Foundation

CoverGirl & Olay Tone Rehab 2-in-1 Foundation

My first and LAST drugstore foundation!

Update: I woke up this morning and now have the same tiny pimples all over my chin and the left side of my face. Absolutely horrid. Come to find out this foundation is not nonacnegenic or noncomegenic. Revised review to a 1. Wish I could go lower! .................... 6/16 Wow - that is all I can say. Ok, review done. ;) I was ready to give this foundation about a 7 until I went into the bathroom this evening to cleanse my face and found something quite shocking. First, I have to say that this is my first drugstore foundation, at least since I "graduated" from Cover Girl Clean Make-Up about 15 years ago. Since then, I have been using various Clinique foundations, most recently Perfectly Real, and have been very pleased. However, I have been finding some stellar drugstore deals as of late and thought why not try to swap out my foundation? Initially, I was moderately pleased with this product. I read many mixed reviews online; some reviewers said it was far too greasy, others say it was too drying and still others commented on breakouts and that the foundation "slides" right off. It is weird how the comments are all over the place. Personally, I thought the texture was a little dry, yet it left my skin a little shinier than norm, and my face felt sticky. I also looked like I was wearing a "mask" which I am not used to at all. The foundation was around $12, exactly half the price of my Clinique foundation. To be honest, I would much rather spend $24 on a good quality foundation that can always be returned to the department store, regardless of how much is used, and the color can be matched EXACTLY by a professional. That seems like a bargain to me! When I went to wash my face tonight, after my first use of this foundation, I was horrified when I looked in the mirror. My skin is not acne prone; just oily and I am prone to blackheads. I had almost a dozen pimples on the right side of my face. Not just red spots, but pimples that actually already had a head on them! Ughhhh..... Seriously??? Never again. I am heading to the store tomorrow to return, and right over to my Clinique counter! Would not recommend.

    CoverGirl Liquiline Blast Eyeliner

    Messy and hard to apply!

I bought this eyeliner in a brown, which is always a safe bet for me. I really didn't care for it. It was so hard to get a thin line against my lashes. The pencil portion is really soft, goes on too thickly, and tends to not be real smooth either. I have tried it several times now and am just not satisfied. On top of that, brown which is always flattering on me, did not even look all that good or natural. Ehhh.... I won't be purchasing again.

  • Suave Professionals Vibrant Shine Spray

    Suave Professionals Vibrant Shine Spray

    Great bargain shine spray!

I am also surprised with the low reviews! I bought this on a whim a few months back. At first, it really wasn't what I expected. When I bought it, I was looking for more of an oil based product, and when I saw that it had alcohol in it and "mineral bursts" (that looked like flecs of gold glitter!), I was really hesitant to try it. I thought my hair would have glitter all over it and be sticky from all of the alcohol. I couldn't be more wrong! I couldn't believe how much shine it gave me. When I spray it on, I can literally see it "become" shiny. I also now LIKE the fact that it isn't oil based because my hair has never been greasy with this product. I did read some of the low reviews, and to be honest, I think it is due to "user error." It is a shine spray and not much is needed! My hair is long and thick, and I usually apply 3-4 spritzes; one on each side and the back. Definitely a good product that surprisingly does what it says! I will be repurchasing.

  • Plus White 5 Minute Premier Whitening System

I am so glad I found this product! My teeth have always been so important to me. I had Zoom, I bought in-office dental whitening kits, I had a mold custom made for my teeth, I have used Crest Whitening strips, whitening toothpastes, whitening mouthwash.... The list goes on and on! I can't believe all of the money that I wasted when this superior product is only $5.99; $3.99 if you only need the gel! The kit comes with an ultra comfy gel mouth guard and it was all so easy to use. My teeth are naturally white, but I wanted to bring them up a few shades and do it on the budget. This is definitely the product! I noticed an immediate difference on day 1. The instructions say 5 minutes, or 15-20 if you want a deeper level of whitening. I did 20 minutes twice in the first day; I couldn't believe the difference. It has always bothered me that Crest Whitestrips are so, so expensive and they are such a disappointment. This product has a 100% money back guarantee, for any reason. The customer service number was right on the box and it made me feel really confident in buying this product, that the company is willing to stand behind it. It was so easy to use, inexpensive, and really good results; I like the fact that the gel surrounds the tooth, rather than just a "strip" of whitening gel. I would highly recommend and will be repurchasing this in the future.

  • Olay Regenerist Regenerating Serum

I have tried serums before, and to be honest, wasn't all that convinced that they were a "must have" for my facial routine, or anyone else either. I went from skeptic to a big time believer! I tried a serum by Boots that I did not see even a bit of difference, and this was after completing the entire glass pump. I also tried the Walmart generic version of the Olay Regenerist Serum; nothing, no difference. I wasn't sure I wanted to try anymore; they can be a little pricey, especially if they don't work. However, I came across an article with the "best" serums in it. Olay was listed as the "best buy." Let's be honest, sometimes these magazine articles are driven by advertising and marketing, and not accurate. (Like when I read an article, then on the next page is the product they are "recommending!") I just decided to give it a shot and I am glad I did! The serum has a very nice texture, not too oily as some serums are. (I have oily/combination skin in the Summer and combination/dry in the winter.) The smell was a bit strong for me; it is a very artificial, perfumey smell, but nothing that deterred me from continuing to use this product. And the best part? I noticed results in less than a week! My skin, in particular my cheeks, looked more even toned and glowing, and this is a girl that also uses 15% glycolic acid and retin-a. Wow. This serum can do what glycolic can't, in a shorter amount of time? This is a miracle serum! They need to change the name. :)

  • Neutrogena Oil-Free Cleansing Wipes Pink Grapefruit

I recently picked these up at my local Target. I use a gel cleanser but sometimes it is late at night and I an too tired to care! Leaving makeup on at night is a big no no that I have been guilty of many times before. I can't say how good this product may be for daily use, but for those late nights, it does the job. I like the texture of the cloth, and even though I don't have acne, I liked that it has salicylic acid; most towelettes cause my skin to become congested and these shouldn't do that. The smell is not as nice as I thought it would be; sort of smelled like grapefruit soda. I also thought they were a little pricey. All in all, not bad.
