  • Jergens Natural Glow Face Daily Facial Moisturizer SPF 20

**** 4/14/12: Sadly, I have to edit this posting and change the rating to a 7. I am currently in vacation in Arizona and I find the moisturizing properties are not enough and the color would be great for the winter, but for the summer the medium/tan is not enough color, and I am fair/med in the summer - I should see more color. I think after this bottle is gone, I will stick to a regular moisturizer with a self tanner. The Jergens Express is nice. ***** Ladies, please be advised right off the bat that this is not a self-tanner; however, it WILL provide you with a decent SPF (20) and keep your skin from looking pale or sallow. I tend to have fair skin with an olive undertone and I use the medium/tan version. I actually think that most people could use the medium/tan, with the fair/light reserved for those that are freckled and very light skinned. I originally started using it day and night, thinking of it as more or a self-tanner, and I think it caused a bit of a breakout on my cheeks, and I went back to using it just in the morning and it works perfectly. I still apply a self-tanner at night but I just love this product. It does exactly what it says. The only reason I did not give it a 10 is because typically I don't care for products that have a SPF in them. I usually use a really good SPF like Blue Lizard or something with zinc oxide, even on my face. (I like Coppertone Sensitive w/Zinc Oxide.) My Derm once told me that if you buy a product that has SPF in it, the "molecules" do not interact well which results in a lesser SPF and a lesser foundation, or whatever it is mixed with. All in all, give it a try!

    E.L.F. Studio Contour Brush

    Great multi-tasker!

I love any budget product that I can use for various things, and this brush is that and then some. It's actually meant for contouring the crease area, but I have also been able to use it to apply concealer in a pinch. The ELF studio set is a really chic looking set of brushes for about $3 a brush, or less if you buy as a set. I also have not had issues with bristles falling out, which is a HUGE plus.

    E.L.F. Slant Tweezer

    Doesn't grab fine hairs

This is an okay set of tweezers; I don't think it has anything to do with the quality or the price. I have bought expensive tweezers that haven't worked also. For me, I just have a lot of fine hairs and I found that this set of tweezers is great at pulling out the thick or coarse hairs, but the ones that are almost invisible were more of a challenge!

  • E.L.F. Studio Angled Foundation Brush

    E.L.F. Studio Angled Foundation Brush

    Silky, smooth application!

I am a budget beauty, and this is another great find from ELF. The bristles are soft and smooth, and it applied foundation just as well as my old department store foundation brush. Not only will I repurchase, but I will definitely recommend ELF brushes. For only $3, it does an even better job than I expected. One noticeable difference between my old brush and this one: the ELF version is not quite as thick. When I swipe it on my face, I can feel the difference (less bristles); however, it still works great and my skin is left flawless. One caveat: try to buy in stores as their online site does not accept returns.

  • Olay Oil Minimizing Clean Foaming Cleanser
    7.0

Olay Oil Minimizing Clean Foaming Cleanser

Are we reviewing the same product?

So surprised by the other reviews! :) I thought that this cleanser was a nice, BASIC cleanser but really was a bit lackluster. My skin is also oily/combo and I decided to switch to this cleanser for the winter months, with the hope that it would be less drying than say, a salicyclic acid cleanser would be. For the most part it is, but I found it to be rather thick. I had to use very little (which was great for the wallet as one reviewer pointed out) and lots of water. However, be sure to rinse VERY well. With this cleanser, more than others, I felt either a "film" on my skin or tightness. I also get breakouts and blackheads, and saw no improvement at all with this product. My skin is clear for the most part, but I do get the occasional blemish and saw no difference with this cleanser. In addition, my skin would look clean afterwards but didn't FEEL clean. It's just okay; for me, I will try something different when I am done with this product. If you have any skin concerns at all, other than oily/combo skin, I would try something else; otherwise, I think you will be disappointed. :(

  • Pantene Pro-V Color Hair Solutions Color Preserve Shine Conditioner

This is a fantastic drugstore conditioner with a yummy smell! It reminds me of coconut. :) I have been using it with the shampoo and I have not been disappointed. The conditioner is super thick and can even double as a "treatment;" I glob some on my hair and sleep with a shower cap on, rinsing with cool water in the morning. Although I am still iffy on their shampoos due to the dryness that can result from the huge amount of sulfates they use, this conditioner is a great pick and I would recommend to anyone.

  • Wet n Wild Mega Last Retractable Eyeliner

I LOVE Wet N WIld, but this eyeliner is just not their best product. It is very hard to apply as other reviewers have stated; you have to press very hard. I didn't notice it staying on longer than any other eyeliner either. But as Little Bunny stated, this is a great budget brand to try and test new products, and many of their products I buy and use every day. This is just not going to be one of them! To add, the cap does not stay on the pencil which can be really annoying. It "sits" on top instead.

  • Pantene Pro-V Color Preserve Shine Shampoo

I have used Pantene on and off through the years. I would not consider myself a loyal Pantene user. The perception is that the sulfates are very drying to the hair, but after reading these great reviews I had to try it anyway! The fragrance was amazing, even better than other Pantene shampoos I have tried. Its like a clean mixed with some fruit. I only wash my hair 3x a week, and I love sudsy shampoos. This one did not disappoint; it was so easy to lather and it made my hair feel really clean. I have been using it for a few months now and have not experienced any unusual dryness or frizziness as a result of the sulfates. However, I also havent experienced any extra shine or color retention. I may or may not buy again as I often use salon shampoos, but for a drugstore shampoo, this is aces.

  • Bath & Body Works Signature Collection Eau de Toilette Warm Vanilla Sugar

Although I am BFFs with this perfume, and love the yummy smell, I had to take off major points for not lasting at all. I am not a huge perfume person, but I do have a few bottles of Michael Kors and Ed Hardy. I will spritz in the morning and it lasts all day. I then spritz again before I go out for the evening. With this perfume, I would say 2 or 4 hours max, and then I have to retouch. I get that it is cheaper and of less quality, but it should at least last 6 hours. Thank goodness I got such a good deal on this; makes the touchups not so bad! :)

  • Vaseline Intensive Rescue Repairing Fragrance Free Body Lotion

I received a nice sized sample from TB to try and review. It is a very good product and I am borderline obsessed. The texture of the cream is perfect; not too heavy or too thin. My skin stays moisturized for hours later. One caveat, dont put too much on or it can have a sticky feel to it. Although there is no ADDED fragrance (AKA fragrance free in the marketing biz) there is an odor as one other reviewer stated. It is very mild and is sort of medicinal, but fades quickly. It would not deter me from purchasing again.
