    Neutrogena Pore Refining Toner

So surprised by some of the reviews! :)

I absolutely love this toner! I have been debating back and forth, like so many others have, as to whether or not toners are needed in a beauty routine. I came to the conclusion that for those with problematic skin (blackheads, acne, whiteheads, etc.) a toner IS needed. I have large pores and have had issues with blackheads for over 15 years; my skin is very oily combo and sometimes it can be difficult to find the right balance. Unfortunately, large pores are like stretch marks; once they are there, their there. However, we can refine them and keep them clear and debris free while smoothing the tone of our skin. If that is what you are looking for, this is the perfect product for that. The reviews I found online were excellent and in fact, when I purchased this at Walgreens, the clerk also told me that this was the best toner and that I would have to try the cleanser too! That is next on my list. :) The smell is very clean and pleasant and it did not dry out my skin like others I have used. What really drew me to this product was the ingredients. It has all the "biggies" for cleaning out pores and exfoliation: salicylic acid, witch hazel, alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) and beta hydroxy acid (BHA). I will often find products with one or two of those ingredients but not all 4. Please keep in mind that this is not for acne; the percentages are not strong enough for that. But you WILL see more refined pores, cleaner and clearer skin with a brighter tone in less than a week. Good luck! :)

    E.L.F. Powder Brush

    Pleasantly surprised!

I bought a brush kit from ELF that contained this Powder Brush. At first glance, I thought it looked a bit strange because it has a blunt tip. The Powder Brushes I have seen before look like the ELF Complexion Brush (which can also be used for powder). The bristles are really dense and this brush applies powder like a dream! The bristles are so soft and I have not experienced any shedding at all. I highly recommend the ELF Studio Line brushes. They are budget friendly brushes with a high end look and feel.

    Fab blending brush!

I was watching a makeup tutorial online and they were using a kabuki brush as a blending tool which I thought was a great idea! To be honest, before then I didn't know if I would ever need this brush and now I am completely obsessed. After my makeup has been applied, I dip this in a bit of powder and buff my face and neck with it, blending away any lines and smoothing the area between my blush and the bronzer I use for contouring. The short handle takes very little time to get used to and once you do, you will discover numerous uses for this brush! As a side note, the new design varies slightly from the posted picture but is equally sleek and modern.

    E.L.F. Mineral Mineral Lipstick

    Stunning lipstick!

Out of all the budget friendly lipsticks I buy (NYC, Wet N Wild, etc.) This is by far my favorite! The packaging is stunning; it looks like a high end lipstick. I purchased this in Natural Nymph like another reviewer, but I absolutely love the color. It is a beigy nude and is creamy in texture and feels very smooth on my lips. I then top this color with their lipgloss in Au Naturale. This lipstick has really blown so many others out of the water, that I do not think anything will be able to compare.

E.L.F. Studio 11 Piece Brush Collections

    Phenomenal! A MUST have.

I have had a love hate relationship with some of ELFs products, but lately I am hitting gold and it is unbelievable. This set is probably my favorite beauty purchase this year. I ordered it off of the website and got it for a steal at $15. This is a part of their Studio Line which I am having great luck with. These brushes can be stacked up against any high end brand and be just as good if not better. Spending $40 a brush does not necessarily mean better quality. When I got them, I cleansed them with gentle shampoo and conditioner, then gently blotted and reshaped to air dry. If I could rate this set as a 20, I would! I have not experienced any shedding and the bristles are soft and comfortable on my skin. The best set that I did not even know I needed. :)

  • Clinique Soft-Pressed Powder Blusher

The pigment in this blush is not "sheer" but rather nonexistant. I have been a fan of Clinique for over 15 years, but this product was not my favorite. I purchased this in Totally Tawny which is suggested for fair skin which I have. Unfortunately, I could not tell I had anything on. In my mind I think I was just expecting more from a department store blush. Unfortunately, I threw out the box and can't even return it. On the plus side, like all Clinique products, it is fragrance free and great for sensitive skin.

  • Rimmel London BB Cream 9-in-1 Skin Perfecting Super Makeup

I have always bought foundation at a department store; seems like everytime I bought foundation at a drugstore, it left my skin oily or caused breakouts. This product is actually a BB cream, which in my personal opinion, I think this type of product is overhyped. However, there are just days when a girl needs a bit of coverage, but something more sheer so I decided to give this a try. It was around $6 which is a great pricepoint for this. It is surprisingly rich and very little is needed. In fact, I use less of this product than I do of my foundation. The coverage is excellent; I cannot stress that enough. It is actually not quite as sheer as I expected but I ended up just loving it. I bought it in Light and was so impressed with the shade and tone; it looked like it was made for my skin. I will definitely continue to purchase. The only reason I did not give it a 10 was their advertised claim that it mattifies; I did not experience that but wish I had! My skin is combo oily and I need all of the oil control I can get.

  • Nars Lip Gloss

    Nars Lip Gloss

    A tad disappointing....

I normally do not spend this much on a lipgloss, but here I am! I was trying to find a dupe for Turkish Delight and just couldn't so I ended up splurging. The first thing I noticed was that not much product comes out; I had to dip the applicator in a few times to get enough product. The second thing I noticed was that the applicator itself was rough and just not comfortable on my lips. The third thing was thst the gloss smells and tastes like plastic. Out of all 3 issues, that one is the worst! It went away about 20 minutes later but was not pleasant in the meantime. On the plus side, the gloss is shiny, smooth and not sticky. The color turned out to be beautiful on my skin tone but I will not be buying this one again. If anyone has a dupe suggestion, let me know.

  • E.L.F. Acne Fighting Spot Gel

This is my new favorite product! I used to buy another brand at a department store for just about 20x the price, when I came across this little beauty and I am so glad I did! My skin is pretty clear but I tend to get small, underground pimples on my cheeks. This is a salicylic acid product (I can't remember if it is 1% or 2%; it is listed on the package) which is the #1 ingredient that is recommended the most for any type of blemish. I roll it on in the morning and at night, and I have not experienced any peeling or discomfort. I started to see results the next day; they were considerably smaller and less red. This is a bargain for a dollar; run, don't walk! :)

  • First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream Intense Hydration

I was shopping at Sephora the other day and they were handing out samples of this body cream. I had never heard of the brand before and admittedly I don't have sensitive skin or exceptionally dry skin. However, I was impressed. It is a rich and creamy body cream and would work well on elbows, hands, feet and pretty much anywhere. Even though it is fragrance free there is a subtle smell to it but it isn't unpleasant at all. The only reason I did not give it a 10 is the price point of the product, but considering where I was shopping, what could I expect? :)
