If you need to be mobile and relaxing with your eyes closed isn't possible, the Japanese skin care company DHC makes fantastic eye pads called 'Revitalizing Moisture Strips for Eyes'. These little crescents stick to the eye area hydrating and de-puffing allowing you to get on with your other beautification rituals. Oh, and they are a steal at $6.50 for 6 pairs (So Cheap!). I use them all the time.

DHC Olive Virgin Oil Is a USDA Organic olive oil moisturizer for your face. This is one of me & my sister's favourite hydrators. It seriously softens, and is a wonderful oil for travel, it feels great after flying & having every last bit of natural oil sucked out of your skin. This comes in a one ounce (non-leaky) pump bottle - all you need is a few drops!

I mix this with my Dermalogica Microfoliant to make an exfoliating paste - leaves my skin so soft and smooth, and you can use it in the shower!

Multivitamin Thermafoliant is Dermalogica’s newest addition to its super advanced Age Smart line. Let me tell you, this high tech/high power exfoliator means business. It could be really dangerous in the wrong hands… or really great for someone who can use it judiciously. I could rehash all of the science behind the Age Smart line, but just click here, here & here for more related posts which explain how the AGEs, MMPs & ROS are involved. So, back to the Thermafoliant. This fine grain exfoliator is both a manual & chemical exfoliant which can improve skin tone & texture with a 1-2 punch. Lactic Acid, Salicylic Acid and Retinol (the chemicals) partnered with Silica, Magnesium Oxide and Sodium Bicarbonate (the manual grains) aggressively resurfacing the skin, while the self activated heating element helps to drive the anti-aging multivitamins (White Tea, A,C &E) into the skin’s surface. I tried some out today and I just have to say WOW. It left my skin very soft and smooth. However I would worry that this could easily be over used, resulting in an extremely aggravated & disturbed skin barrier. They recommend 2-3 times a week but if you are using any type of prescription retinoid, etc. (as I do) I’m not sure I would go anywhere near it. As always, I’m a big lover of the brand, so if you are in the market for a new scrub, give it a whirl… just be GENTLE, and make sure to wear your sun block after words!

If you're looking for a great skin care line without a prescription - Exuviance is a great choice! Exuviance products contain polyhydroxy acids & anti-oxidant vitamins - high powered & proven anti-aging ingredients. The best thing about them is they are gentle and non-irritating - great for dry and/or sensitive skin (those types need anti-aging love too!). Over all, this is a wonderful and moderately priced line that is very effective. I always advocate visiting the dermatologist for skin care concerns, but if that doesn't sound like something you'd do, these products will definitely get you smoother skin with less fine lines in a rather short period of time... without irritation or a ton of money! P.S. I particularly like the Vespera Bionic Serum!

I just love products with semi-crazy claims, simply because they may be proven later and not seem so crazy a few years down the road. Take Perricone MD's Synergy Anti-Aging Aromatic. This little roll-on, applied just under the nose and to the wrists allegedly "increases a sense of well being" and is an "anti-aging aromatic treatment that delivers pheromones to the brain." The pheromones supposedly enhance "emotional well being, and give a sense of calmness and clarity, decreasing stress and enhancing sexual attraction". Sign me up! I have no idea if it really works, but it smells like the airport Cinnabon (delicious -better to smell than eat). In my opinion, this is an intriguing product by a well respected dermatologist who's books I've read & enjoyed. I'll keep using it just in case the described effects turn out to be true, I know I need its stress relieving assistance!

The other day while out shopping with my sister I realized I had left the house with no lip gloss or even lip chap! I frantically asked her if she had something for me to use & she said "of course, I just got a new one that you might like" and pulled out this tube called Miss oops pucker protector. I was thrilled to have anything at that particular moment but after trying it & getting the DL on the product I was in love. It's a gloss, hydrator & protector all rolled into one. My lips are always dry but after an all day marathon of using this they felt wonderful. The great thing is you get a super shiny look as well as deep hydration - plus sun protection, all at the same time! It's really an ideal multi-purpose product for traveling when you're trying to pack light.

I'm a big fan of using a face masque after a draining flight - they help repair some of the damage you incur while flying, and replace the loss of moisture caused by the dry cabin air. Astara's Golden Flame Hydration Mask is a fantastic post-flight option. It's aloe based which means in sinks in nicely and is packed with tons of moisture depositing and soothing ingredients, to name a few: Cucumber, Sodium PCA, Hyaluronic Acid, Chamomile, Calendula and anti-oxidant vitamins. Perfect for stressed out skin in need of a little TLC. Keep it in the fridge for a welcome home beauty treatment. P.S. Liv Tyler is a fan of Astara's masques - she has amazing skin!

This is my favourite - it's cheap, has great hold and works for both brows and lashes -after curling in place of mascara-for those days you don't wear mascara.

I've yet to find a better eyeliner - this is so creamy and had great colour payoff. I'm giving it 9 stars instead of 10 - it does have a tendancy to wearoff over the day but that's beause I wear it on my waterline...
