Bath & Body Works Aromatherapy Body Wash & Foam Bath

The best bubble bath when I have a cold

I liked BBW's Tranquil Mint hand soap, and I remember how soothing it was, so when I had a cold a few years ago, I asked my husband to get this bubble bath for me. Although it said "Body Wash", I used it as bubble bath. A warm bubble bath of Tranquil Mint was soothing and relaxing, and created a nice minty vapor. My stuffed nose and sore throat got better a little bit. Since then, I make a hot bath with this Tranquil Mint every time my family has a cold. Also, if you love mint-scented shampoo/conditioner, try this one! Without any second thought, I give this bubble bath a perfect 10!

Have a soothing and relaxing Eucalyptus Spearmint bath!

The BBW Aromatherapy collection is my favorite BBW line, especially Tranquil Mint and Eucalyptus Spearmint. I love them both equally. I make a nice bath with Eucalyptus Spearmint Body Wash & Foam Bath when I feel cold or have a cold. Aveeno's bath treament is soothing and relaxing too, but it does not smell as good as this one, and it also leaves a little bit of oatmeal residue in the bath tub. Wow, the scent and vapor coming out from the Eucalyptus Spearmint bath is not just aromatic but help to relieve my stuffy nose. This is the best bath treatment for me during the dry cold winter months!

  • Nioxin Diamax

    Nioxin Diamax

Smoothing serum with a root booster

About two years ago I noticed an increase in hair left in the brush/comb. I was not very keen on using a hair- thickening product because I thought it would smell bad, make my hair look/feel oily, or be very expensive. The very first thing I noticed about Nioxin DIAMAX Thickening Treatment was that it has a light/pleasant scent. It seems to be a silicone-based formula, yet it does not weigh down my hair. Also, it does not make my hair look/feel greasy. Thanks to the product design, It does not spray too much at once, which means, it allows me to control the amount I want to apply. I work into roots and through ends on my damp hair. Then I massage my scalp. I've been using this for 5 days, therefore, it is too early to know long-term effects. As for the short-term effects, DIAMAX makes my hair a bit more manageable and smooth, and adds body to my straight hair. However, I don't think it has increased the diameter of hair strand. BTW, I tried to use it on my dry hair once, but I felt that it did not distribute evenly, and since I used more, the next day my scalp was a bit itchy. In conclusion, it seems to work better on my towel-dried hair. I don't like the fact that it requires me to use daily, but if it really strengthens my hair, it is worth it. I will have to update this review in a few weeks if I experience a significant difference. FYI, the package says "Satisfaction Guaranteed or your money back".

  • Olay Smooth Finish Facial Hair Removal Duo

Yes, I have facial hair - the ones around my mouth are especially visible and embarrassing. I've been using facial hair remover for years, and I've tried wax, cream, strips, bleach, electric razor, traditional razor, hair removing wand etc. But I have never found a method/product that is completely pain-free and long lasting. At first I was skeptical, and a bit worried about this 2-step application. However, the shapes of the applicators allowed me to apply evenly, and the waiting-time was no big deal at all since it did not irritate my skin while I was waiting. I think the balm kept my skin from overdrying. I had used some “sensitive” formula hair removing products that caused my skin redness and irritation, but not this Olay Duo. The very first time results were just good, but not fantastic. Some hair (very little) were left untouched. A few days later, I tried again, and then, it removed all the peach fuzz. My skin were smoother and felt well-hydrated too. I think the best part of using this system is that my make-up foundation (both liquid and power formula) goes on even smoother. This is one of the best “at-home” facial removing systems. My only wish was the results are a bit longer-lasting than some of the cheaper hair removers since this duo is a bit more expensive.

  • Burt's Bees Radiance Lip Shimmer

    Burt's Bees Radiance Lip Shimmer

Lighter side of Burt's Bees lip products

To me this Radiance Lip Shimmer feels like between a matte lipstick and a lip gloss, but a bit more moisturizing than the matte but much less waxy and sticky than the lip gloss. It gave my lips a light minty feeling and a natural look without adding any color (it is quite colorless on my lips), but I would not mind a bit stronger minty sensation. Unfortunately, this radiance one seemed to be less moisturizing than their regular lip shimmer. In fact, it is so light that I need to re-apply after drinking or eating. Thus, I prefer their regular lip shimmer formula or lip balm.

    Benefit Lipscription

    So-so for me

I got this as a gift. When I unwrapped, I thought I got the two same tubes, but later I realized that one tube was Buffing Lip Beads, and the other one was Silky Lip Balm. The exfoliator beads removed dead skin off from my lips, and my lips felt smoother. But it left a waxy film like residue. I disliked the lip balm part even more. It was really thick almost like Vaseline petroleum jelly so that it was hard squeeze. The concept of this two-process lipcare product was indeed interesting, but too expensive for not very impressive results.

  • Benefit Lemon Aid

The name got my attention when I was looking for a concealer. The base color fit with my skin tone, and it did a fairly good job of covering my blemishes and dark circles under eyes. However, it was not easy to blend it due to their paste like consistency. Also, it was dry so it quickly creased and caked under my eyes. I wish this Lemon Aid were more creamy and moisturizing.

Clean & Clear Morning Burst Facial Cleanser

    Microbeads don't come out always

It has refreshing fragrance but it sometimes dried out my skin during winter. Occasionally I was very frustrated with the microbeads. The more I used, the more beads stayed at the bottom and the harder to get them out. When the liquid was gone, I had to throw the bottle away with the remaining of microbeads.

Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash Pink Grapefruit Foaming Scrub

Refreshing, but the scent seems to fade away

I purchased this because I love the scent of grapefruit. The first few times I thought the scent was better, it was not exactly like grapefruit. It cleansed my skin, and the micro-beads felt good, but it did not clear acne. As the days went by, the citrusy scent faded away, and it smelled like something chemical. I love Neutrogena, but this is one of my least Neutrogena products.

  • BareMinerals Eyecolor

    BareMinerals Eyecolor

    Almost perfect

I have two of these eye shadows - Skyline and Celestne, which are included in the Smokey Eye Tutorials. It seems to me that Bare Escentuals' double-ended eye brush is a better tool to use these loose powder eyeshadow to avoid a messy application. When I used another mini brush, the powder fell all over. A very nice BE salesgirl showed me a few tricks such as adding a drop of water for a more intense look. The dark blue/gray Skyline and the shimmery Celestine color are nicely pigmented, feel light, and look pretty on my eyelids. But unfortunately the color does not stay long all day. Even with a primer or eyeshadow base, I usually re-apply in the mid-afternoon. But I love the colors and I am still planning to try a few more different shades.
