    Revlon Sugar Sugar Lip Topping

I LOVE GLITTER!! SUGAR SUGAR ROCKS!!

Man, I SO love glitter, shimmer, and the like! So of COURSE I will dig this stuff. And yes, it does feel weird on your lips but guess what? It's GLITTER, ladies! I don't think there's any way to make glitter not feel like, uh, glitter. Small price to pay and it DOES stay on your lips unless you (a) lick them a lot or (b) eat/drink something (which tends to murder any lip product). I did have a laugh at the so-called applicator...it seriously is a plastic stick...huh...go figure...what WERE they going for I wonder? I thought "well maybe you are supposed to lick the stupid thing and then stick it in there?" While it sounds kinda sexy or something it is also kinda silly and pointless. Either sprinkle on your hand and then use your finger to press some on lips or wet the stick in water and do same. The glitter itself is great - much finer and more shimmery than the usually large cut version. Maybe it does have sugar mixed in - who knows. But for us glitter - loving super girly - girls; it's a fun product (but Revlon, PLEASE cut the price on this geez!!)

Cutex Instant Jar Nail Polish Remover

    Nail polish, be gone!!

I was thrilled to see this on the shelf at Target a year or so ago...I have NEVER been a fan of the whole scrub-with-a-cottonball method of polish removal, but what choice did you have? Enter this (and several other versions like it) and I say alleluia! : ) As the other reviewers said, you just stick your fingertips in and twist them in the sponge until the polish is gone (less than minute per nail for me-takes longer if the polish is dark or glittery). The cons are that it still has that icky smell (though not as bad as traditional bottles I think) and that it works best if you use your other hand to "squeeze" the sponge around the finger you are "working" on. Also, the old polish will stain the sponge so after a month or so it can look kind of icky (though it basically works until the remover liquid is used up). Personally, I kind of like the versions in the smaller bottles that fit one finger at a time, but these will do fine.

Manic Panic Glamination Flitter Jewels and Star Stars

Cute little starts make a big impact : )

You might look at something like this and say "greaaaat...what the heck do I do with this stuff?" Well, if you do circus performing like me you have a good excuse but never fear if circus is not your, uh...day job hahaha So when DOES one wear uber sparklies? Well, I personally think holiday parties are a great excuse, but that's just me : ) Obviously, it's a bit tricky to get these things to stay put...my solution? Put a small pile of them on a folded tissue (easier to pick up when on something not quite smooth & flat). Next use a q-tip to put a teeny dab of eyelash glue on your face where you want the stars to go. Then use tweezers to pick up one star at a time and press it into the glue. Wait a second to make sure it's staying before adding more. I think the best place for them is on the outside corners of your eyes or even sprinkling them in your hair (works best in hair that's pulled back straight as they can get 'lost' in curls) I love stuff like this but gave it a 9 as it's kind of labor-intensive. btw, if you don't want to shell out $$$ for something you aren't going to use to death (again, unless you're sparkle mad like moi!) then head on over to your local craft store...they carry bags of this stuff for a couple bucks a pop. ditto for glitter. happy shopping!

  • Sugar Cosmetics Glamazon Eye Palette

Ok, so I am a huge fan of glitter and this brand tends to do it pretty well with this product being no exception! I ADORE the colors in this one-the indigo is GORGEOUS with my blue-grey eyes and the darker one adds just a touch of sparkle to traditional "cat-eyes". There is just enough "sticky" to keep the glitter from going everywhere on your face. I would advise layering it for a more intense look and/or using a base of a similar (or contrasting) 'normal' eyeshadow. Another perk? You can use the tip of the wand to apply the glitter as eyeliner which means you get twice the product for your $! Using it like that the result is similar to the glitter eyeliner from Urban Decay or Too Faced. perfect for all those holiday parties!

    Hard Candy Shaker Body Shimmer

Sweet shimmer powder pretty but not amazing

I am a glitter/shimmer junkie and also adore sweet smells so one would think I would be totally in LOVE with this one...well, yes and no. Ok, it IS very pretty-I got the pink one and it comes out very light pink with a delicate but very noticeable shimmer. It blends great on me, but because there is a definite pink color; you may not be able to use it all over your body if you aren't as pale as I am haha. It has a very light sweet fragrance (think Aqualina's Pink Sugar) so you will be fine if you are ok with a sublte sugary scent (again, fine by me!) It lasted pretty well on me too-still was noticeable the next morning : ) I guess my main caveat is that it is pretty $$$ for the amount you get and you do need to be a bit liberal to get the effect (at least that I wanted). Somehow I thought it would be more like powder you would use everywhere, but for the cost you would need to stick to highlighting shoulders, clavicles etc. As for getting out the correct amount...I had luck shaking some into one hand or onto wax paper and then applying it with fingers. ok, guess I DO like it, but wish I had more $ haha

    Tigi Catwalk Curls Rock Amplifier

Awesome for curls but use sparingly!!

I have naturally curly hair, and I do mean CURLY as in ringlets : ) this line has worked wonders for me in the past though I do tend to bounce back and forth between several brands depending on my mood and the season of the year etc. This one is great when you need a LOT of help with frizz as it can get greasy/heavy if not used sparingly. I say save it for when your hair is really going to get dried out or super high humidity. I smear it in my hands first and then finger "comb" it in while my hair is wet. It doesn't work as well on dry hair and you can't brush my hair when it's dry anyhow haha. So I say wet your hair, finger comb out the snarls, finger comb in this stuff, and then either let it dry on it's own or use very low heat on your drier. I don't use this for updos or when my hair is pulled back as it's too thick for that (but great for long, natural waves/ringlets). and I agree that it smells awesome-kinda sweet and fruity : )

    Kinara Red Carpet Facial Kit

At home Spa with classy products : )

I got a free sample of this and had a lot of fun playing "spa" with not only several girlfriends, but even conned my husband into trying it : ) I felt like the mask (step 3) "did" the most though step 2 also felt nice - very cooling. I was annoyed that the samples didn't contain any ingredient lists or directions (how long to leave things on etc) but we just went with what we've done before with other products and that seemed to do the job just fine. I would suggest to Kinara to put up more info on their website as well as again, not much about individual products. The smell is also very nice which is great when something is going to be on your face for a while : ) My skin looked great and just FELT clean which is, of course, the point. A bit on the $$$ side, but give it a try if you can afford it.

Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine Leave-In Serum

Perfect shine-but for curly and drier hair ONLY!!

In case you missed the bold print above (hahaha) do NOT buy this if you have thinner hair or are prone to greasy hair and/or scalp. I naturally have VERY curly hair that tends towards being frizzy and can dry out. This stuff is a GOD-SEND to me, but I have a feeling that to many people it would create an oil slick on your head! But if you're a fellow curly-head then you can NOT be without it! This and the John Frieda frizz-ease stuff are the ONLY products I've tried (and I've tried a LOT, believe you me!!) that tame my insane flyaways/baby hairs near my forehead/frizzies. I squirt a little into my hands, rub them together, and then smooth them over my hair (I generally use this when I'm trying to pull my hair back and want to keep the look smooth). It works great for hours and even seems to make my hair seem softer and tamer for the next day or two! On top of that, it smells SO good - kinda fruity. yummy.

Harajuku Lovers Music Eau de Toilette Spray

Love the sound...I mean, smell of this one!!

Mmmmmmmm, this has the most AMAZING smell! I am totally in love with it and the bottle is WAY too cute : ) officially listed as a "fruity-floral" (ok, so I like some pretty traditional stuff at times) with notes of: Clementine, Pear, Jasmine Sambac, Sweet Pea, Honeysuckle, Vanilla, Skin Musk, and Sleek Woods. yummy. seriously, it just smells GOOD. Here's a help...this reminds me on some level of several other perfumes I adore: Incanto Charms (by Ferragamo), Victoria's Secret Pink 'Fruity & Bright', and Bath & Body Works' Black Raspberry Vanilla. So, if you dig any of those three scents; you probably should give this one a try at your nearest Sephora : ) I actually liked I think all but one of this "series" so you may want to even try the gift set they have out as the bottles alone are cute enough to justify the splurge. Now just gotta hint to the husband what I want in lieu of Halloween candy...bit of Music perchance? heehee

Buxom Full-On Plumping Lip Polish Gloss

Unexpectedly fell in love with this gloss!

Wow. I am SO not a fan of lip plumpers-I have naturally full lips so don't bother. But this stuff was SO perfect that I now keep a tube in my purse! I have the clear one with this gorgeous sparkle to it that just makes my lips look amazing. This is also the first gloss I've ever used that even when it wears off leaves my lips feeling soft and pretty (most glosses when they wear off make my lips either feel dry or dull so you have to run and get another "fix" haha) And the minty "taste" is great! It does tingle going on, but that doesn't bother me though maybe it might bother super sensitive people. awesome.
