Oh, I love-love Bobbi Brown's Beach Body Lotion in the summer. It teases my olfactory senses with the smell of the ocean, suntan lotion, and sun-drenched days of lying on a beach. It honestly is a vacation in a bottle. The lotion is lightweight enough for summer -- not overpowering someone's nose or too heavy for your skin. I would give this a 10 for summer, but 2 for winter.

I have recently become a shade worshiper as a result of family members developing skin cancer, and I have four faves in my sunscreen arsenal -- Peter Thomas Roth's being one of the four. This one travels in my handbag at all times. I never leave home without it. Instead of applying a creamy sunscreen over makeup after leaving the house for the day, I reach in my handbag, grab the PTR Instant Mineral SPF 30, dust it on my face, and I am once again protected from the sun. It is sheer enough that it doesn't cake up, settle in fine lines, or add any color to the skin. For me, it truly is a safety net because I wouldn't apply a goopy type of sunscreen.

Although I usually imbibe in green tea, when I need something to settle my tummy or soothe my soul, I reach for Aveda'a Comforting Tea with soothing notes of licorice and peppermint. Along with magazines and spa products, I also like to add it to a basket to give to friends who are feeling under the weather.

Aveda Light Elements Smoothing Fluid leaves my hair glossy and glistening. After I style my hair, I still have little hairs that dance to the beat of their own drum. Rubbing a little Light Elements into my palms and running my hands through my hair tames those bad boys without weighing my hair down.

I have worn Philosphy Amazing Grace Eau De Parfum for years. It is more than my signature scent; it's my scent trademark. The soft, floral blossoms accented by a hint of light musk is like a little slice of heaven.

Colorescience Lip Pencil in Softer Shade of Pale was a delightful surprise. With "mature," pale, and disappearing lips, this color is the perfect nude color to minimize the wrinkles and alleviate lipstick from feathering. Unlike other lip pencils, it's creamy enough to wear alone or as a base for lipstick application.

Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 45
Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock
After having my sun spots lasered off my arms, my dermatologist gave me a couple of large samples of Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock. I spent the week in Savanah in 80 degree weather with the sunscreen slathered all over my arms, as well as covering my arms with a long-sleeve t-shirt. This Neutrogena product certainly performed its duties in the sunblocking department, but I wouldn't use it again because the powdery consistency left a white residue on my skin.

La Roche-Posay Anthelios Tinted SPF 50+ Creme for Face is a tinted foundation with maximum strength, broad spectrum UVA/UVB SPF 50 sunscreen for the face with Mexoryl XL and Mexoryl SX. According to dermatologists, Mexoryl SX is the most effective UVA-blocking ingredient currently available. It has been used in Canada and Europe since 1993 but approved by the FDA for use in the U.S. in July 2006. With very few products on the market that contain Mexoryl, this is a ten-star sunscreen, but unfortunately, the tint was almost transparent. Although I never leave the house without either this Anthelios product or Anthelios Fluide Extreme, their application is purely as a sunscreen.

Okay, tanorexics, listen closely. Stay out of the tanning beds and use sunscreen. If I had listened to my dad when I was younger, I would have prevented many of my sun-induced wrinkles. As a smarter woman, Anthelios XL Fluid Extreme is a beauty product that I wouldn't dare leave the house without. The active ingredients are Mexoryl SX, Mexoryl XL, Titanium Dioxide, and Octocrylene. According to dermatologists, Mexoryl, is one of the most effective UVA-blocking ingredients currently available on the market. I don't usually give a ten-star rating, but this is one beauty product that you can't live without!

"Speak you this with a sad brow?" asked Shakespeare. My friend, Jan Barrington, had more than a sad brow; she had no brow. At a prepubescent age, she decided to shape her brows with Nair hair remover. Needless to say, Anne was sans brows for quite a long time. Now that bushy brows are back in style, Anne is still out of luck. Her brows never recouped their bushiness. Oh, how trends change. There is some scientific evidence that Rogaine will help the over-plucker or the Nair-do-well to regrow their plucks, but once the application ceases, so does the regrowth. As a woman with Sad Brow Syndrome, I have coached my brows into shape with Anastasia's brow products. Although Oprah launched Anastasia Soare into most women's cosmetic vernacular, the brow maven had already performed her magic on most of women and girls in Hollywood. I not only love Anastasia's brow powder, but her whole line is not only user-friendly but has brows looking natural. I am light blonde and my brows require the golden blonde powder. Brow powder should be two shades darker than your hair. Unfortunately, the golden blonde doesn't come in the recession-friendly kit.
