It will also reduce the size of enlarged pores, and helps promote a shine-free complexion without drying out adult skin.

Another reviewer already said this, but like her, I'm growing "fond" of Lumene products. They're not packaged in fancy jars or tubes, and they aren't glamorous, but they DO work. Blueberries not only taste great, they can do great things for your beauty routine. Blueberries contain antioxidants and Vitamins such as A and E, plus fatty acids that help protect against environmental saboteurs. I was surprised and delighted to learn that blueberry seek oil is included in a product I didn’t expect to find it in: mascara! Blueberry Curl Mascara by Lumene doesn’t smell like berries and it isn’t blue (it is available in black or brown) but it has Finnish blueberry seed oil in it to nourish your lashes and keep them strong and healthy. The mascara is not only good for your lashes, it makes them look great too, with a specially-designed brush with plastic bristles that coat every single lash from lid to tip, and lets you easily and thoroughly coat even the hard to get bottom lashes. One coat gives your lashes natural beauty, two, a more “glam†look.

Skincare gets more high tech by the moment. Scientists have discovered a very specific group of genes that have been shown to help regulate cell lifespan ("longevity genes"). Research by Estée Lauder scientists indicate that one of these "longevity genes" (SIRT1) helps to regulate the lifespan of our skin's epidermal cells. In January 2008, Estée Lauder launched Re-Nutriv Ultimate Youth Creme. It's a truly cutting-edge skin treatment to help prolong the look and feel of youthful skin. I received a jar, and before I tried it I read the press and product information to see what might make this one, unique. Without getting too technical, the secret of this precious and luxurious cream is something called "Resveratrate." It takes the best of Resveratrol—long known in skin science as an anti-oxidant and anti-irritant—and makes it much more potent, more stable, and more concentrated, with a time-released formula that can penetrate quickly and directly into skin's surface. Resveratrol constantly protects skin cells. It was shown to trigger skin’s natural protective mechanism, slowing down time for cells and actually buying the skin cells more time to repair damage naturally, so they can perform at an optimal level and more than double their survival rate. Does it work? I immediately noticed that my skin looked more radiant, and the texture was much better. Even fine lines were softened, the surface of my skin felt soft and moist (thanks to Camelina Sativa Oil--an exotic seed extract) blended with other conditioners, including Red & Brown Algae, Colloidal Gold, caffeine and potent anti-irritants I loved the cool, silver, metallic jar. In short, I loved this cream! Despite the cost, it's a good investment for anyone seriously interested in doing what they can, non-surgically to keep their skin looking young and healthy. Re-Nutriv Ultimate Youth Creme will set your budget back a bit, but it is a good value for the results you get.

There is nothing that makes me feel more girly and more special than opening up the top of one of Chanel's iconic shiny, black, mirrored compacts. Les Ombres Quadra Eye Shadow features Three shadows and a pearly highlighter. No matter what season, there's another, stunning collection! The pressed powder shadows are velvety-soft and they slide on your eyelids just like silk. The color quality is fairly sheer, but add a bit of water and you get a much more intense look. Mix and match the colors both wet and dry. Blend them....experiment! The colors will work well together no matter how you use them

I love multi-tasking cosmetics, but often, a product that is matte enough for cheeks, looks too dusty on lips, and a product that is moist enough for lips, looks too "glowy" on cheeks. The Aveda Uruku Collection Cheek-Lip Creme manages to stike a balance, with an amazingly silky, luxe, moistly-matte product that has staying power. The earthy shades look naturally good on both lips and cheeks, without being monotonous. The cream helps enhance your skin with natural oils and antioxidants, including Buriti oil, organic Jojoba oil, and vitamin E. I tried "Solara," a shimmery bronze that looks believably sun-kissed on every complexion. The small plastic squeeze tube makes it ideal to pop into a makeup bag. If you're traveling light, a multi-tasker like this makes sense, but you'll love it at home, too.

The Uruku Eye Accent is lovely. It's a rich cream, dispensed from a small, tote-able squeeze tube. It slides on like silk and blends beautifully. It and dries to a long-lasting, crease-resistant powder. There are no synthetic dyes, so it won't irritate sensitive eyes (one of my personal challenges--and this one looked great without causing itching, irritation, or burning). "Caja" is my favorite--a super-shimmery, glorious copper that makes me long for Summer days, but looks great with Fall fashion's more intense tweeds and leathers, too.

I love the budget-minded products from L'oreal. They're effective and affordable, and do exactly what they are supposed to do...no lies, just good works. The L'Oreal Paris Studio Line Perfect Fix Ultra-Fie Spray Finishing Hairspray comes in a sleek, black can with colorful "Mondrian-esque" blotches of red, yellow and white. Inside, the product itself can help your updo stay up, or a more challenging hair "work of art" to remain where you envisioned it. This product has a gentle but beautifully disensed spray top that coats your hair with a spray that adds a bit of gloss, and LOTS of hold. If you spray enough of it, even humidity won't be able to penetrate!!! If you desire a holds-like-iron and costs like a copper penny product, this one performs!

* I wrote a review of the Vive Pro line products and didn't break it down into each product --This review gives you my impression of the shampoo, conditioner and Conditioning Treatment. In short though, I am impressed with all of these (hope you like the review): L'Oreal Paris is known for it's modestly-priced, quality makeup products, but they are also beloved by men and women who love great hair products. L'Oreal Nutri Gloss and Color Vive are part of the new line called "Vive Pro" that offer a line of basic hair care products for different types of hair (normal, fine, curly, or damaged). The cheerful pink bottles with pink, flip-top caps dispense a pearly, lightly fruit-scented, rich Shampoo or Conditioner. The shampoo lathers well and the conditioner rinses easily and cleanly without making hair dull or greasy. You can also get a tube of Conditioning Treatmentfor s an extra, conditioning boost. Packaging and scent (plus snob appeal) have a lot to do with the cost of hair products. Many of the pricier ones have cutting edge ingredients that give good results, but the L'Oreal product developers aren't scrimping on the latest and best technology, either. If your beauty budget is shrinking these days to peanut-sized proportions, fear not: You don't always have to spend a fortune to get nice looking hair. L'Oreals line of hair care products won't give you the snob appeal feeling that "luxe" products do, but they DO work well. They do a good job of cleansing, moisturizing, and detangling. They pamper hair. Most significantly, they provide just what they promise. Nutri Gloss delivers a lovely shine and softness you can feel with your first application. The conditioning treatment helps revitalize damaged and dry hair with a "pearl protein complex" that deep conditions and moisturizes in just three minutes. The Color Vive helps to revive dry hair that may also be damaged by chemical hair color treatments, and it also adds softness and shine. I think these give impressive results--especially for the cost--and each of these products cost less than lunch! You can find L'Oreal Paris products online and in your local mass market retailers and drug store. ...now that's something to dine out on! *7 stars only because the bottles are tapered and tended to tip over.

If you love the scent of roses, you'll find it easy to love Vitamin E SPF 15 Moisture Lotion by The Body Shop. This rose-scented facial cream is not just a sun block with SPF 15, it's a great moisturizer with Vitamin E and wheat germ oil for extra conditioning. Good for all skin types, it'll protect you against UVA/UVB rays as it does good things for your skin. Wear it under The Body Shops' Flawless Skin Protecting Foundation SPF 25. There are six shades of cream-to-powder, long-lasting, sun-protecting foundation in shiny, silver, mirrored compacts that look sleek and elegant. The product applies with a sponge, and gives you medium to full coverage that blends easily so that your skin looks smooth and flawless, and happily protected with a mineral defense shield. I tried this one in the lightest shade: 01 which will work on medium-light to medium complexions (if you're super-pale, this one will warm you up just a tiny bit). I was out in direct sun for some time wearing this foundation. While it isn't a substitute for a traditional sun block, my face didn't burn, either. Alas, I really do not like the smell of roses in my skin care, although I love them in the garden and in a vase. It's not quite the perfect product for me, but it might be for many of you.

I am a new fan of MY BLEND skin care products. These are amazing, new, and quite pricey, but the products work well and they are quite customized. This everyday, 100% mineral sunblock features a powerful SPF protection against UVA/UVB and infrared rays and provides strong anti-oxidant protection. 100% mineral filters, white tea extract and Vitamin E also give skin bennies. The active ingredient is Titanium Dioxide that will really help prevent sunburn. This is great news--especially for skin that's sensitive and prone to sunburn. The formula is light and not sticky or greasy and it absorbs quickly, so you can apply it over your moisturizer (whether it's My Blend under your makeup...and move forward with your day.
