Paula's Choice Hair & Body Shampoo

Luxurious lather and great for easily irritated skin

This is an excellent product for sensitive skin (even for babies). It is fragrance-free, color-free, and irritant-free. It has a luxurious lather--almost like a bubble bath without the irrirtation and rinses leaving your skin and hair feeling clean but not dry or greasy. It is great for family vacations because it is good for baby's skin, no fragrance to scare your husband, it can be used as a bubble bathe or shower gel, and one product washes hair and body. It is a little bit expensive which is why I originally gave it a "9", but way worth the money. I had to bump it up to "10" because despite the price, I keep stocking up on this. It is my favorite. The company also does NOT engage in animal testing which is a huge plus!

Dove Nourishing Oil Care Leave-In Smoothing Cream

excellent lightweight smoothing cream, but tests on animals

The only problem I have with this product is that the company conducts animal testing which is unecessary. There are so many quality companies that have abandoned animal testing that I will look elsewhere. It is also heavily fragranced-kind of a coconut smell. I got a sample of this and rubbed a nickel size into my palms and smoothed my baby fine shoulder length hair. I tried it both on damp hair, which I blowed out and dry hair that was frizzing. It worked great. It smoothed my hair pretty much all day without weighing it down or looking greasy (note the directions say NOT to put it on the ends of your hair). It is very inexpensive. Overall it is quality product. I would use it regularly if Dove stopped animal testing.

  • Paula's Choice RESIST Intensive Wrinkle-Repair Retinol Serum

First of all, this company has awesome products that REALLY work without animal testing-right on! This product is fragrance, color, and irritant free. My skin tone and texture has improved noticeably since using this product. It is fairly priced. And it is one of the only retinol products my super sensitive skin can tolerate. The packaging also keeps the product clean and the great ingredients potent.

  • Paula's Choice CLEAR Normalizing Cleanser

I have blemish prone, but very sensitive, allergy prone combination skin as well. This product does an excellent cleansing the face gently, yet thoroughly-no makeup residue. My face feels clean, healthy, and soft, but not dry. It works better than more expensive brands. It is fragrance-free, color-free, irritant-free, and they do not engage in animal testing. I don't know what could improve this--I really love it.

Paula's Choice Skin Balancing Oil-Absorbing Mask

Brilliant!!! A real treat for sensitive skin that is feeling oily

This is an outstanding mask. It only takes about 10-15 minutes. The mask absorbs excess oil andhas a refreshing cooling effect without drying out the skin. It works great on extremely sensitive, allergy prone skin. It was awesome for dry/combination skin. It really balanced my skin, made it soft and smooth, and lessened the appearance of my pores. It also helps me prevent my monthly acne breakouts. I love it--it is a real treat! And NO animal testing!!!

  • Aveeno Pure Renewal Conditioner

I LOVED this product. The ONLY thing that would prevent me from regularly buying this is that, after checking, I discovered that the company STILL needlessly engages in animal testing while many others do not. I hope they read this and others voice their concern to them. I have lately been trying really hard to steer clear of these companies. Other than than I would score this conditioner 1000. It is has a light floral fragrance (I am in the minority to prefer fragrance free, but am okay with this fragrance). I got a full sized sample along with the companion shampoo and tried this for a week, both with the companion shampoo and my normal shampoo. I prefer the performance of this conditioner by far to any other conditioner I've tried. It makes my color treated, straight, baby fine hair soft, shiny, frizz free, silky while not weighing it down or looking greasy or clumpy. It detangles really well, too. I relunctantly passed it along to my little one who has fine. tangly, long hair and it has done wonders for her hair, too, especially since I don't use styling products or heat on her. It is inexpensive, the brand goes on sale often, and offers coupons. Aveeno, please STOP animal testing!!!! I LOVE this product and would love to be a loyal customer, but for now, my conscience keeps me from buying this. I cannot justify great hair at the cost of great (and unecessary) suffering of defenseless animals. Other hair product companies with great products have stopped. Aveeno promotes "natural"--step it up, be a leader, and be cruelty free, too.

    Aveeno Pure Renewal Shampoo

    Nearly perfect, BUT.....

I got a free full sized sample of this. I tried it for about a week, both with its accompanying conditioner and on other days with my regular conditioner and loved the results. It left my baby fine hair, color treated hair shiny, silky, and voluminous. I do not necessarily buy into the sulfate hype. As a matter of fact, several other sulfate-free shampoos contain ingredients that irritate my scalp. This one does not. Lately, I have been trying to consciously avoid brands that needlessly test on animals. After some research, I found out, sadly, that this one engages in animal testing so I personally will unfortunately not be buying it for that reason.

  • Paula's Choice Skin Balancing Daily Mattifying Lotion SPF 15

This is an outstanding moisturizer on every level. It is great for combination skin--just enough moisture without causing acne. It has effective sun protection. It is loaded with antioxidants and other skin benefiting ingredients in packaging that keeps the ingredients potent and clean. It is fragrance free and does not contain superfluous ingredients or irritants to cause my super sensitive, allergy prone skin to react. They also do not do any animal testing. Yay!!

    Physicians Formula Eye Booster

    Awesome liquid liner

I love, love, love this liner. It has a very thin, precise brush that is the perfect balance between soft enough to feel good, yet firm enough for perfect control. The eyeliner is really foolproof and has lasting power. It is very inexpensive, making it truly a bargain. The claim about the serum making your lashes fuller and longer, enhancing the lashes of 100% of those using it is just silly and they lose a star for making the claim.

  • Got2b Kinky Curling Mousse

Don't like this one. It does volumize my hair, but at the cost of making it dry, dull, and frizzy. I have baby fine, color treated hair. I also don't like the fact it says it contains mineral salt (salt of any kind is a mineral). Seeing what road salt does to the paint job on my car in the winter, I do not think it is good for my hair color. It has an odd chemically, perfumey smell (quite strong). The thing it had going is the price and it does add volume. Not happy with this one.
