    M.A.C. Fluidline

    Most Excellent

This is a most excellent gel eyeliner. It goes on with the perfect consitancy--creamy smooth. but not thick or clumpy. It dries quickly, does not smudge, flake or fade all day. Great color payoff. It is more reasonably priced than other gel eyeliners of this quality, plus you get a lot of product. I got this in a limited edition color called "Dark Diversion" which is the best color. It is a deep, rich, almost black plummy violet. It is less harsh than your basic black and really made my green eyes pop. I wish they would make the color permanent. The trick to this eyeliner is to get a really good eyeliner brush with a thin point that is stiff enough to be precise, while soft enough to not irritate sensitive skin around the lashline. And, of course, a little bit of practice. It is worth the effort. Very highly recommend.

  • Prescriptives Moonbeam Reflective Gloss

This is a great quality lip gloss. It has lasting power. It has a stiff, but soft and effective brush for a nice application. I got this in Stellar, which is a cool, bronzy plum color with a silvery shimmer finish and good pigment for a gloss. It reads as a pretty natural/nude lip color. It smooth, slick and the right consistency. It was not sticky, tacky, or gritty. I gave it a 9, because it is a bit on the expensive side, but the website offers free shipping and samples, and sometimes gifts with purchase. Love the color and finish. Would likely get it again.

  • Suave Professionals Touchable Finish Extra Hold Aerosol Hairspray

Highly recommended. It holds well, but is still touchable and allows your hair to look natural. It is not sticky or crunchy, even on very fine hair. It has a strong strawberry fragrance (smells like kiddie shampoo). If you like the scent, it is a great hairspray and very, very affordable. At this price, it's worth a try.

  • Philosophy Miracle Worker Miraculous Anti-aging Eye Cream

I tried a sample of this. It is a quality eye cream in packaging that keeps the beneficial ingredients potent and clean. It goes and and feels like a thick, waxy paste--I did not love the waxy feeling but my eye makeup applied just fine over it. It did not irritate my super sensitive skin, but know that it does contain Retinol which cannot be tolerated by some people (if it irritates your skin, it is not for you, especially sensitive skin around the eyes. Salespeople are working off commissions and want to make money have the terrible habit of telling people that "it gets worse before it gets better, the burn means its working, or you have to give it time for your skin to get used to it"---NOT TRUE). It will sting if it melts into yours eyes, so be careful. If you can tolerate Retinol, it is a great product, but very expensive. If you cannot tolerate the Retinol or the price, there are a ton of other moisturizers that are just as good or better for the eye area. PS this is a great product, but not miraculous, just in case you were wondering.

  • Suave Professionals Touchable Finish Lightweight Hold Hairspray

I love the "Extra Hold" version, but this lightweight hold version is worthless. It has a strong strawberry fragrance, but otherwise does not do ANYTHING. I got a sample of this and tried it several times, thinking maybe the product was not coming out. It was wet when it sprayed and left a strong fragrance in my hair, but did not hold AT ALL or keep frizz done or anything. I have very fine hair and NEVER had a product not do anything. Usually products make my hair too stiff, crunchy, clumpy, flat, or greasy looking. This did absolutely nothing.

  • Kate Somerville CytoCell Dermal Energizing Treatment

Kate Somerville CytoCell Dermal Energizing Treatment

    Shockingly terribly disappointing

I was excited to get a sample of this. Ouch! It really, really irritated my skin. It turned red and bumpy and stung! I researched the ingredients and found that some of the ingredients are known to irritate skin and sensitize skin such as lavender and bergamot. It comes in a jar which exposes any beneficial ingredients to oxygen, causing any antioxidants to quickly degrade. The jar is also unsanitary because everytime you dip in, the oils and bacteria on your hands end up in this cream. And don't believe that your skin gets worse before it gets better. If a skincare breaks out your skin and makes it uncomfortable, it is not for you. All of this for $150???? I am mad at myself for not checking out the ingredients in a product of this price before trying it--who would have thought? If you feel the need to spend this kind of money on a skincare product, I would look elsewhere (and donate the difference in price to a charity).

  • Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy Eau de Parfum

This parum lasted several hours. It had an oooey, goooey, sweet caramel smell with a very faint hint of fruity floral. I am very sensitive to fragrance and very particular. I did not like this one, personally. Since everyone has different tastes, I think this one deserves a "7" because it is marketed to teens and young woman for which it is appropriate (sweet, but no too sexy) and is reasonably priced. You can even get a rollerball version of this at Sephora for under $20. If you are over 21, you may want to look for something with a bit more depth and complexity.

  • Wet n Wild MegaEyes Shadow Pot

I bought this in "Brule" because I liked the fleshy color and finish and it was cheap. I was surprised how much I would love this shadow (I mostly have MAC, Lauder, Clinique, Stila, Bobbi Brown). Every one should have this staple color in their makeup kits. It is so versatile. It wears well, it applies silky and smoothly. It blends easily. It did not flake, fade, or crease on me. What a deal!

Smashbox Cream Eye Liner Brush #9

Good, but not the right shape

This is a good quality brush that is stiff enough to do the job, but soft enough to feel comfortable. I don't love the shape. I had a similar Sonia Kashuk brush, but the bristles were had rounded corners, making a much more precise and controllable line. Smashbox's brush seems to be better constructed than the other. The shape on this one is more awkward for me, personally.

  • Smashbox Crease Brush #10

This brush is absolutely great! It is nice and soft, does not irritate the skin at all. it picks up powder shadow well and flawlessy blends with ease. This is my favorite brush--well worth the money. Nice, easy application, feels good on the skin, well constructed, and has a good feel in your hand. Definitely check this one out!
