Whether creamy or matte in formula, the colors are well-pigmented, long-lasting, and receive a lot of compliments from friends (& even strangers). The red tube collection has a variety of red lipsticks in which at least one is bound to flatter your skin tone. My complexion is olive-toned, and 111 "Kiss of Life" is an outstanding true red; a couple of my fair and peachy-skinned friends look great in 107. While my creamy lipstick (black tube) has no problems in application, the matte tends to cling and pull at my lips, in which case I apply & blot lip balm just before. Furthermore, both of my lipsticks have their own distinct fragrances which for want of a single descriptive word I'll say are variations of a cross between mint and something floral. I personally don't mind the smell, but I understand for some fragrance can make or break the decision to invest in a lipstick. I should note, my two lipsticks, in red and deep berry, have been true to their appearance but when I purchased a third in a mauve-y pink shade that looked pretty good in swatch form it was a disaster on my lips and I ended up giving to a friend.

As a newcomer to makeup sub-culture of contouring, I think I made the right choice going for this blush & bronzer duo for only $3 instead of buying two separate products or a duo for more money. The packaging is similar to that of Nars blushes and powders: black, simple, and sleek. I was drawn to the peachier shade of pink in the St. Lucia package; both the blush and bronzer have gold flecks in them; however, right after I've applied the blush the gold flecks seems to stand out more than the peachy pink color, and as the day goes on the color fades while the fleck remain, an effect that doesn't go well with my current winter skin. In truth, I haven't used the bronzer very much because I'm experimenting with contouring brushes and plus the gold flecks may not make it great for creating shadow under the cheekbones, but the shade itself is nice. All in all, it's a good starter contouring duo for one to find shades of blush and bronzer that go well with one's skin tone.

I have tried putting this on parts of my face other than the tops of my cheekbones and my brow bones, such as down the top of my nose and on my Cupid's bow, but the light-reflecting particles are too large to go unnoticed. Nevertheless, as a highlighter on my cheekbones I get a lovely shine and even if I go overboard I can mute its effect with setting powder; odd that I cannot achieve this on other parts of my face. I actually think the tube is too large because I don't know if I'll use a quarter of this before the product is supposed to expire! I'm hesitant to purchase again because I don't want to spend money on a tube I'll hardly dent in use.

My oily skin and I love this pressed powder to set foundation while keeping skin from looking dull or overly sparkly. There is no noticeable smell to this product, which I've encountered in drugstore pressed powders designed to produce a matte finish. When I dust on the powder I get a subtle glow, a happy middle between obviously sparkly and flat matte. I'm sad that when I get down to the bottom of the pan there's powder that clings to the corners and refuses to be picked up by a brush, but it took a long while of daily use to get to that point.

Having pretty oily skin, I bought this product to work beyond setting powder to keep my makeup in place over the summer. My spray pump ejects product in a squirt rather than a mist, which results in streaks down my face; I suspect I got a bad seed, so to apply the spray to my face I put it on whatever brush I'm using for setting powder and then bouncing the brush over my face. I can feel the product drying on my face in a tightening manner, and it seems to be a bit sticky on my face, though I don't want to touch my face to find out. That being said, I don't find the drying/tightening sensation too concerning, since I believe this is what holds my makeup together throughout the hot, humid summer's day.

If I could only recommend one makeup brush to someone, it would be this one. (I have the original design of the blush brush, with silver aluminum and reddish-brown cruelty-free synthetic brushes, for context). The bristles are really soft and evenly distribute product. I bought this brush for the purpose of tapping on setting powder more precisely than a powder brush, but recently I've been experimenting with bronzer, highlighting powders, and blush (surprise, surprise) and haven't had any issues in those regards with the exception of highlighters that come in narrow strips, as this brush is too round to precisely pick up the product. Even if you couldn't care less about being more eco-friendly (to which I urge you to care a little more!) this brush is a must-have to your collection.

I'll get it out of the way now... I think there are better mascaras made by Physician's Formula. That being said, this mascara is nice for clean and more natural-looking definition, even in Ultra Black. The brush's bristles are not only recyclable, which is awesome, but do a good job separating my lashes. I haven't noticed flaking or smudging but I did notice that the formula started drying out very quickly despite my never pumping the brush to get more product. Thankfully, Pinterest advised me to put a few drops of saline solution (my contact lens solution) into the bottle, and now it seems Ultra Black got ultra blacker as well as much easier to apply through my lashes. I think everyone who uses this mascara should follow this bit of advice and see if its quality improves.

What I love most about this lipstick is its subtlety. The color I have, called "Tender-Heart" is a bit of an earthy brown and looks to be a couple shades darker than my natural lip color. It goes well with my olive-toned complexion, and the color is muted enough to pair with a variety of outfit styles. What's more, its moisturizing formula doesn't go on uneven or on an adventure outside your lip line unlike other creamy lipsticks.

Who can resist the temptation of a $6 primer from a brand well-known and well-loved? I sure couldn't. The formula is a gel-like consistency, which glides over skin and evens out the combination-oily skin I have. Though I haven't noticed any uneven patches of foundation when I layer it over the primer, I'm still a little concerned that my makeup is being applied on a Slip'N Slide. It wasn't until I ran out of primer that I realized only a third of the packaging holds the product itself... I'm thinking, Is the empty space for increased airflow to make pumping easier? Did I really get $6 worth of foundation? Plus, the dispenser doesn't reach all the way to the bottom of the product container, which seems cheap. I'd buy this again, but not before experimenting with other primers of the same consistency and possibly better packaging.

I do give props to Revlon for coming up with a brush completely covered in lash-coating bristles. Nevertheless, that rounded tip ends up getting loaded with excess mascara, and when I wipe it off it all accumulated into this goop where you twist off the cap. The 3D claim is a gimmick; my lashes, if anything were less noticeable, even in blackest black. My lashes look a little fatter with application, but not by much. Good for a more natural volume, but I'm more of bold, look-at-me lashes.
