Clairol's Perfect 10 at-home hair color kit has been much talked about in the press due to it's “revolutionary†new formula for do-it-yourself permanent color. The formula is supposed to be less damaging to the hair and longer-lasting than a traditional peroxide formula in less time. I tried Perfect 10 in a deep brown shade to slightly lighten my dark color and loved it- It does indeed seem to last better on my hair and leave less noticeable growth. Clairol's Perfect 10 hair color is very easy to use and easy to blend for natural-looking color. It only takes 10 minutes to develop (so fast!) and smells less toxic than traditional hair colors. Definitely a huge improvement in at-home haircolor.

Clarins was one of the first major beauty brands to make a truly wearable non-chemical sunscreen with a good spf level. Clarins UV Plus is a great non-greasy protective mineral sunscreen for the face that utilizes titanium dioxide as the active ingredient. While UV Plus is on the more expensive side for a sunscreen (about $56 for 30ml), this Clarins product really feels like a quality product. It is virtually non-whitening for a mineral sunscreen and blends and disappears pretty easily. It comes out looking like a white liquid, but it doesn't feel heavy on the skin. Though the only thing I would change is the light powdery floral scent, overall I am a big fan of Clarins UV Plus.

Crabtree & Evelyn Naturals Botanical Shower Mousse comes in a variety of interesting scents like Pink Grapefruit & Cucumber, which I tried. The Pink Grapefruit & Cucumber scent is fresh, complex, and amazing in the shower, and is one of my favorite bath and body scents thus far. While I really enjoyed using the small bottle of Crabtree & Evelyn Naturals Botanical Shower Mousse that came in a Naturals gift set, I used the entire bottle up much more quickly than I normally use up shower gels. With that said, this Shower Mousse comes out really light and foamy, and consistently works great as a shaving and shower mousse. The pump bottle is easy to use, and the formula is moisturizing and effective for gentle cleansing.

Max Factor's 2000 Calorie Extreme Lash Plumper mascara is by no means the best mascara out there, but it is pretty decent. While I found it to be more of a lengthening and defining mascara (you can get long spidery lashes with this), it also did not hold a curl like I wished it could. This mascara also has a unique patented brush with a fatter core than most other mascara brushes, and the spiky plastic brush fibers are actually shorter than expected. I was surprised to find that I really liked the way this new mascara brush worked on my lashes. Unfortunately, I did not notice as much lash thickening as I expected, but then again, I don't usually bother with more than one coat of mascara as they suggest using.

Becca Luminous Skin Colour is a really beautiful foundation that is more like a tinted moisturizer with a dewy and flattering finish. This is a great sheer coverage foundation for those with sensitive skin who want a little spf protection and natural-looking skin. This is my favorite sheer coverage foundation, and I haven't encountered too many foundations that are as moisturizing as Becca Luminous Skin Colour (aside from Tarte's Smooth Operator foundation). Not only is this foundation moisturizing and creamy, but it is also flattering for a variety of skintones, including yellow-toned skin. I recommend using this Becca foundation with spot concealer when you want sheer, dewy coverage.

It's nice to see drugstore lipsticks that can give department store lipsticks a run for their money. Max Factor's Vivid Impact Lip Color is one of those drugstore brand lipsticks that feels surprisingly like a more expensive brand lip color. Vivid Impact Lip Color has an incredibly smooth formula that feels pretty moisturizing on the lips. While the color is supposed to be “vivid,†this lipstick is relatively sheer, and can be layered for more color payoff. I tried this lipstick in the Rose Rage shade and liked the subtly vivid color and the sheer application. I really like the concept of a vivid lip color with the option to look more or less intense, depending on your mood!

There's something about Butter London nail polishes that attracts me, aside from the fact that they are “3-Free†(free of the commonly used toxic chemicals used in traditional nail polish). These fun polishes from the UK have quirky names and come in a pretty rectangular bottle, making me want to try all of them! While Butter London polishes are on the expensive side at $14, you feel you are getting some added quirk value when you purchase one, like someone actually put a lot of effort into naming and describing them! The formula is apparently on the thicker side, which requires a little more careful application, but also has less of that yucky nail polish smell. I can't wait to try more of these!

I've usually liked the OPI nail polishes that I have tried, so I wanted to see if Sephora by OPI would be any different. I tried out the Sephora by OPI shade called Queen of Everything, and, boy, does it look just like liquid metal! This metallic Sephora by OPI shade is fantastic, and it goes on extremely smoothly! Queen of Everything looks like a mixture of molten silver and pale gold with a tiny bit of a khaki green to it, but it doesn't look gaudy next to the skin. For a really long-lasting and easy-to-apply manicure, try Sephora by OPI polishes!

The Bliss Fabulous Foaming Face Wash is one of my favorite facial cleansers ever! Not only does the Fabulous Foaming Face Wash gently clean my face with exfoliating beads, but it also leaves my skin feeling hydrated after washing. In contrast to many exfoliating cleansers, Bliss' Face Wash does not leave skin feeling stripped and dry after using it, because it is such a gentle yet effective cleanser. One of the best things about the Bliss Fabulous Foaming Face Wash is its pleasant fruity-floral scent , which reminds me a little of juicy candy. Yum! A little goes a long way, so if you're looking for a hydrating and gentle exfoliating cleanser, this blue gel-liquid cleanser by Bliss is a must-try.

Stila was the first beauty brand that really caught my eye and made feminine products that I felt matched and flattered a range of skintones well. I had never tried Stila's fragrances until I saw Stila's Mandarin Mist bottle recently. As a fan of citrusy floral scents and pretty bottles, I had to try it. While Mandarin Mist isn't exactly my signature cup of tea when it comes to fragrances (I'm super-picky), I can definitely see it's appeal. First of all, the bottle is to die for – delicate leaves and tendrils adorn clear pink glass – and many other fragrances have since emulated this style of bottle decor. Moreover, the fragrance itself is a light citrusy floral scent that many would find appealing, though it doesn't exactly remind me of true and tart mandarin. Mandarin Mist is a slightly warmer and more floral scent than I expected, but I think it would be a great home fragrance. I recommend trying it to see if the bottle is worth putting on your countertop!
