    Samy Smooth Shampoo

    Not good at all.

It smells like it's gone bad--even when it's brand new. Kind of plasticky and just "off." The texture seems weird as well. There's not really anything I can say that's positive about this product--it really makes my hair worse off than before! My hair feels dry but dirty at the same time. Avoid this--even though it's cheap, you'll regret using it.

  • The Body Shop Seaweed Mattifying Moisture Lotion SPF 15

It smells somewhat nicer than regular sunscreen, and the packaging is pretty, but it's basically overpriced sunscreen in a little squeeze tube. It did not mattify AT ALL, and actually was a bit shiny and felt like it left a residue on my skin. It might have caused me to break out a bit too :( Definitely give this a pass.

    Yes to Cucumbers Facial Towelettes

    Not good at removing makeup.

MAYBE if you only wear a little concealer and a bit of eyeliner, you could get away with using these wipes. But they don't do a very good job at removing a normal amount makeup. I use two on my face to get off my foundation and eye makeup, and I still don't think it gets my face as clean as it should. They do claim that they will both clean and remove makeup, but I don't know that either of those things are done sufficiently. Also, it says that the Yes to Cucumbers Facial Towelettes are good for sensitive skin, but I'd be wary of using them on sensitive skin. The texture of the cloths seem soft enough, and are thick enough to not feel flimsy. My skin isn't sensitive at all, but I did find these were a little irritating on my face and stung just a bit. The price is on par with other drugstore makeup wipes (six bucks for a thirty pack). The packaging is fairly cute, and I like that it has the plastic lid insert in the baggie that lets you snap the lid closed, as opposed to resealing the package with a sticker label. I think this really helped them from drying out prematurely. I have mixed feelings on the scent... Given that this brand promotes how "natural" it is, I expected a faint, natural, realistic cucumber smell. But the scent is actually quite strong and a little artificial smelling (they do add fragrance). I also think it's cool that these wipes are biodegradable!

  • Lush Shimmy Shimmy Sparkle Bar

    Lush Shimmy Shimmy Sparkle Bar

    A really fun product

I love this product. It's fun, girly, and a nice little treat to buy yourself. It's definitely not something you NEED, but it's a good pick me up/go out and get glam sort of product. It's made with various hard butters (shea? mango?) and has glitter mixed into it. There isn't really any scent to it. You rub it onto your skin and your body heat melts the butter. It's a little messy but manageable. The amount of glitter is CRAZY awesome. It's iridescent and fairly fine glitter. This tends to pick up lint and fuzz, and looks dirty (I usually keep mine in a cute basket with soaps and bath bombs on the bathroom counter), so I would recommend keeping it in a plastic baggie or LUSH tin instead. The price is a little spendy for something so small, but it lasts a REALLY REALLY long time. I've already talked a few friends into buying it :) The only downside is that there is a slight residue on your skin afterwards--if you rub it in pretty well you can minimize that, although you get glitter all over your hands.

  • Wet n Wild 8 Pan Eye Shadow

Wet n Wild 8 Pan Eye Shadow

    Amazing quality.

The Wet n Wild 8 pan Eye Shadow in "Comfort Zone" is amazing. I had heard rave reviews for it on all sorts of beauty blogs and had to try it for myself, since it's only $5 (and I got mine BOGO 1/2 off on top of that!). The shades are all varying degrees of shimmer, but no glitter. The colors go together very well, and you can mix and match shades. The top two shades are a little less pigmented, but still very nice, and the bottom six shades are buttery soft and incredibly pigmented. There are definitely some shades that are dupes of MAC eyeshadow colors, which may appeal to some beauty mavens on a budget. The case is rather cheap, but the size of the pans is nice and makes it easy to appy. Honestly, if these shadows were put in some high end department store palette case, you'd never know the difference! It's so convenient to use, and great quality. I highly recommend this palette.

    Lush Solid Shampoo

    Favorite shampoo ever.

I was skeptical about trying these at first... They seemed little (maybe three inches in diameter and not quite an inch thick??) for the price. And rubbing a bar of shampoo on my head just seemed weird. But my boyfriend loves cinnamon and was going to buy it anyway, so I tested it out too and LOVED IT. It lathers so well, gets my hair really clean, and smells amazing. Again, the amount of lather is CRAZY. I know lather doesn't necessarily mean it's cleaning well, but I just love how it feels. I've used regular shampoo since then and it just hasn't been the same. I'm absolutely going back to using LUSH's cinnamon solid shampoo, and maybe I'll try some of the other varieties as well. It actually lasts a pretty long time considering the size. A few swipes will do you, but I like to put on a little extra. Rinses out clean and easily. The only thing is that the cinnamon sticks look cute, but can be a little scratchy and tangle in my hair a bit.

  • Pond's Original Fresh Wet Cleansing Towelettes

I usually use Clean & Clear's wipes, but they're not widely available, so I decided to pick up these Ponds wipes. I figured that because Ponds is widely known and has been around for awhile, these would be fine. I didn't like them at all. I needed two wipes to REALLY get off all of my makeup (foundation and mascara especially). I felt like I really had to rub to get the makeup off too. These are really heavily perfumed, which I didn't like either. I like that the plastic box keeps the wipes from drying out, but that also means it takes up more room. Maybe they should just get a plastic flap that snaps open and closed? The price is pretty average. I definitely won't be repurchasing these.

  • Wet n Wild MegaEyes Crème Eyeliner

The packaging is cheap, especially the lid, and this dries out a bit quicker than I'd like. However, the liner itself is incredibly pigmented and long-wearing. The texture is thick and creamy. It's really quite a steal if you ask me!

  • Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Gel CreamLiner

These are amazing. The shades are nicely pigmented, nice and creamy and smooth (as good as MAC!). I like that they can be stacked together or separated. The black shades are great--I'd buy them just for that! They have microglitter in them that makes the black pop just the right amount. The brush that's included is my favorite eyeliner brush. Seriously, when these go on sale, try them! Amazing stuff--length of wear is great, even on my waterline.

  • Murad AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser

    Murad AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser

Didn't do anything for my skin.

I have blotchy, acne prone skin with some scarring--it could definitely stand to be evened and smoothed out. I was hoping this product's AHA/BHA combo would help my skin look clear and glowing again, but no such luck. I do appreciate that it doesn't smell bad, and that the exfoliating particles aren't too harsh (or too delicate), but I just didn't get any results from this. And it's expensive, to boot! My good friend just loves it though.
