  • Versace Bright Crystal

The moment I first applied this, it smells EXACTLY like a fresh cut Christmas tree. That fades and is replaced by a sweet citrusy floral that's clean and fresh. It's nice, but nothing special.

  • Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Eau de Toilette

To be honest, I expected to not like this fragrance. I'm not sure why, maybe it's all those Kiera Knightley ads of her in a boat. I did not expect this scent at all... it smells like something from L'Occitane more than Dolce & Gabbana. It smells like a sophisticated lemon verbena scent with just a hint of musk and cream, and a teensy bit woodsy. Sadly, it fades quickly (moments after spraying), which is disappointing for a fragrance of this price. The bottle is kind of boring also.

  • Beckham Signature for Her Eau de Toilette Spray

The packaging is very pretty for this perfume--it's girly, modern and elegant all at the same time.. It smells kind of generically "perfumey" to me. It has floral (rose) notes, some sweetness to it but not overly much. A little underwhelming, considering it's from Victoria Beckham.

    Jessica Simpson Fancy

    It's alright.

Jessica Simpson's "Fancy" is like the older sister of Aquolina's "Pink Sugar." Similar, but not the same. Both are very, very sweet, driven by vanilla notes. However, I would say Fancy is a bit more complex, with some almond and floral notes added in as well. It's a bit more "perfume-y" than Pink Sugar. The name and the bottle are a little ridiculous. I personally find the fragrance to be nice, but a bit underwhelming. I might use up my tester, I might not.

  • CLEAN Warm Cotton Eau de Parfum

It says that it's "inspired by soap." And they nailed it. It smells like laundry detergent, or dryer sheets. It's clean and fresh, like you just opened the door of the dryer, and felt the warmth and scent of clean laundry. I personally don't wear "clean"/soap scented fragrances, but if I did, this one is nice. Of all the fragrances of this type that I've smelled, this one is by far the best. It has decent lasting power as well. It's not something I would buy or use, but I would recommend it if you like this type of fragrance.

  • Lush Ultrabalm
    5.0

    Lush Ultrabalm

    Unsure about this.

I love LUSH. They have great products that are unique and fun, and the company is great as well. The co-creators are quirky and cool, the products are minimally packaged to reduce waste, they are against animal testing (they use human volunteers instead), they use ethically sourced ingredients, they use only vegetarian ingredients, they genuinely are a “green” company (in terms of their energy use, recycling/composting/re-using, using wind and low-impact hydro-electric power), and they get involved in ethical campaigns. It's a company that I LIKE to buy things from and am always excited to find new things to buy there. I bought one of the little two dollar tins of UltraBalm at LUSH, because my hands have been very dry lately, as well as my lips, and this product can supposedly be put anywhere on your body. The little tin seemed cute and portable. I chose this over the lip balms because it was cheaper, multipurpose, and the LUSH lady at the cashier recommended it. Additionally, if I brought back the empty tin, I could get two dollars off the full sized version. So it definitely seemed like a good idea. I tested out a little bit at the store, on my hands, and it seemed very moisturizing. I later tried some on my lips, and found the texture to be too slick. It didn't last long on my lips, and didn't moisturize very well. I used some on my hands and it felt great! Unlike on my lips, it seemed to keep my hands moisturized a bit longer. It is a bit greasy, but not too bad. Compared to typical hand/body “salves” that are very thick/almost solid, the LUSH UltraBalm is like the texture of room temperature margarine. (It even kind of looks like margarine in color!) It doesn't really have much of a smell. I'm on the fence about whether I'd repurchase this instead of my usual hand cream though. The full sized container isn't very portable.

  • MAC Tinted Lip Conditioner Stick SPF 15

I had heard really great things about MAC's Tinted Lip Conditioner Stick SPF 15, I love a lot of other MAC products, and I wanted a good lip product with SPF and a little bit of color and/or shimmer, so it seemed like a no brainer to buy this product. I figured it would be good for the beach, or when I'm out running. I bought one that looked peachy with a tiny bit of golden shimmer in the tube. It was practically sheer on my lips, and looked very natural, but nicer than Chapstick would look. The twist up packaging is nice. I like consistency and color of my Tinted Lip Conditioner SPF 15 in the pot (a Hello Kitty one), but I don't like sticking my fingers in the product. It's easy to open and close, without smushing any product by accident. And the SPF was effective—my lips never burned when out in the sun. But while those things are great, there are a lot of negative things about the product. The texture was just a teensy bit coarse, it wore off quickly, and it didn't moisturize my lips at all. If anything, I found my Tinted Lip Conditioner Stick to be DRYING! It's supposed to CONDITION my lips, and it did the exact opposite. If you lick your lips at all, you'll get a slight taste of sunscreen (ick), and it also smells like sunscreen mixed with MAC Lipglass (ick). Also, $14.50 is expensive for a product that isn't very good. I lost my tinted lip conditioner stick awhile ago, but definitely will NOT be repurchasing it. If I need another lip conditioning product with SPF, I'll buy something else—there are so many other products that are better, like MAC's Tinted Lip Conditioner with SPF15 in the pot, or maybe Alba Botanicals TerraTint lip balms with SPF, or Burt's Bees!

    Not worth the money.

I have this in "Chloe." Chloe is a beautiful orange-leaning coral with gold shimmer. PROS: The color in the tube is gorgeous. CONS: A bit expensive for the quality. Not moisturizing. Low pigmentation. A bit slick feeling. Not very long lasting. I'm really bummed about this product, but fortunately, Clinique Full Potential Plump and Shine in Extra Apricot is somewhat similar in color, but more pigmented and longer lasting.

  • Avon Imari Seduction Eau De Toilette

"A hypnotic scent of luscious plum and purple orchid with tantalizing hints of warm vanilla, amber and musk." Personally, I can't stand this fragrance. It smells medicinal. If you've ever smelled Eagle Brand Medicated oil/ointment, this smells almost exactly like it! (the green stuff in the little glass bottles, it's very very popular in Asia). PROS: Fairly inexpensive. CONS: Smells terrible. I need to wash my hands right now!!! Obviously, I would not even consider purchasing this.

  • Physicians Formula Matte Collection Quad Eye Shadow
    4.0

Physicians Formula Matte Collection Quad Eye Shadow

Not sure why the rating is so high?

PROS: The texture is very smooth and silky. CONS: These are VERY UNPIGMENTED!!! I tried layering the color but it didn't build up well. These are also expensive at full price--especially for something that doesn't show up. I tried the crappy applicator, then switched over to brushes. The colors are very similar too--so what's the point of the palette? Save your money and get something else!
