MAC's Volcanic Ash Exfoliator is exactly what it sounds like: an exfoliant made from volcanic ash. But wait, there's more! This ash comes from live volcanoes on Vanuatu - yes, that Vanuatu - the one made famous in Survivor. Nice. I have to admit, I'm a bit weirded out by this. It is black and gritty. Now, of course, most exfoliants are gritty - they include those little scrubby things. This exfoliant is made of ash (which contains sulfur, wow and ick) and sugar crystals. This stuff is pungent. It's not funky, or anything, but it smells ... earthy is the best word for it, I guess. It smells like what I think a rainforest would smell like. Now, keep in mind, I have never been to an actual rainforest, so I have no frame of reference - this is just what I would imagine a rainforest smells like. I do have a very active imagination, for what it's worth. Anyway, I am happy to have pungent, earthy, famous ash on my face, I guess. However, I did freak myself out when I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror. I looked like I was putting on blackface paint or something. It was bizarre. Having said all that, though, this stuff does work. My face felt like a baby's butt afterward - very, very soft and smooth. So, if you can get past the smell and the weirdness, you'll be pleased with the results, I think.

The Too Faced Pink Leopard Bronzing Powder is a very cute product. I know sometimes cute can sound as if you're being a bit condescending (like, "That's ... cute"), but in this instance, I don't mean it that way. I am praising this product. It comes in such hot packaging, combining my two great loves - leopard print and pink - with an included mirror and small brush that's just the right size for brushing along the cheekbones. And look at the product itself! Once again, both pink and leopard print - how can you go wrong? But,it's a smidge too light. In order to be a true bronzer, in my opinion, the product has to give the wearer noticeable added color, not just a golden glow. Otherwise, it's a highlighter. And, on wearers of my skintone or darker, that's just what this will be - a highlighter. But as a highlighter, it rocks! I highly recommend it and give it my kiss of approval!

Unlike MAC's bronzer, Bobbi Brown Bronzing Powder does not have much shimmer and it works best in the true sense of how one should wear bronzer: swept across the high planes of the face. With MAC's bronzer, I can layer it over blush, but I wouldn't suggest that with Bobbi Brown's. However, if you want to add that burnished brownness to your already brown skin, this bronzer is the answer to that question, honey. In two shades that will work on us gals of deeper hue - Dark and Deep - I think you'll be pleased.

The best part about the Stila Shine Lip Color is that it contains SPF 20 - more than adequate sunscreen to protect your pout. With it, you won't feel guilty running this creamy concoction on your lips over and over again! I do have to say that I think the name of the product is a bit misleading. A name like Shine Lip Color makes me think I'm getting a lip product that is most likely sheer and most definitely glossy. But neither is the case here. What I found myself with is a very pleasant and creamy lipstick - it doesn't shine at all, nor is it sheer in the slightest. But, on those days when my lips are feeling particularly dry or I'm attempting to look a bit more polished or sophisticated, Stila Shine Lip Color is a good choice. It is available in eight different shades - I have Talia, which is a neutral plum.

In three shades: Bronze Gold, Bronze Mist (which I'm wearing today) and Terracotta Tan, you are sure to find a duo that suits your needs, no matter what shade you are! The Bronze Mist duo, for example, comes with a very deep shimmery bronze side and a light, peachy pink side. These duos can have multiple uses. You can use them like I am today, with the dark side as cheek color and the light side as highlight. You can use them as highlight and contour powders. You can use them like traditional bronzers. You can use them separately as blushes. I think these chumpies would even look good swiped across your eyes as bronzy shadows! These things might be my new best friends!

Being a lip product fiend, I, of course, bought the Sally Hansen Natural Beauty Natural Lip Shine Gloss in every darn color available. I have been wearing them for weeks now and they are the only ones I took on vacation with me. They are almost perfect glosses - lush, moisturizing, high on shine (a troupe member told me my "lip gloss was poppin'" the first time she saw me sporting one), come in a bunch of colors and are affordable. Yay! Carmindy and Sally Hansen got these glosses right. In fact, I'm wearing one today - the shade is Juicy Cherry and it is fab! Unfortunately, the scent is a bit irksome for me, though I don't think it'll bother everybody. I'm not sure how to describe it other than "sweet". But it fades, so I don't mind after a while. Worse, though, is that my local Walgreen's has stopped carrying the line, which makes me furious, since I love it so much. But, Ulta has the entire line in full force, so if you have an Ulta not too far from you, get it there! You can also find the line in Duane Reade and in some Rite Aid and CVS stores.

For those of you who are interested in mineral makeup and finishing powders, but who have drier skin, the Bare Escentuals Feather Light Mineral Veil may be for you! The finish is quite different from BE's traditional Mineral Veil, in that, instead of giving your skin a matte look, it leaves your skin looking decidedly luminous. As an oily-skinned gal who's looking to diminish oil and its effects, this isn't always the look I'm going for, but it can work if you need a touch of added luminosity to your skin. It also works quite well as a highlighting powder.

My life changed the day I first had this concealer and powder applied to me at the Bobbi Brown counter! I have dark undereye circles that I always struggle to conceal. The BB Creamy Concealer does that beautifully, not to mention that it also covers any redness and dark marks. It blends into my skin so seamlessly that I can wear it alone, without any foundation, and still look flawless. I will NEVER, NEVER be without one. In fact, I'm hitting pan in the one I have right now and will be at the mall tomorrow to buy a new one!

I love this - I have it in Bronzed Pink, which is a great "my lips, but better" shade. It's akin to MAC's Slimshine lipstick, but not as sheer. Moisturizing and beautiful. I'm going back for another one!

These are my favorite shimmer products! I have Shimmer Strips in Sunset Strip, Miami Strip and Waikiki Strip and I couldn't be happier with them. I wear them several times a week, as highlighter for my cheekbones, on my tear ducts and under my brows, and as eyeshadow. I've even added a bit to my lips to give them a touch of shimmer. I wouldn't say these work as blush because they're too light for that on my skin, but as shimmer powder, they are excellent!
