My boyfriend got me a set of PTR products and this was one of the items in the set. The name is so misleading because these are certainly not in the least bit gentle. Alcohol seems to be the most prominent ingredient in these pads. The smell is overwhelmingly medicated. Even though I steered clear of my eye area, just the solution on my cheeks made my eyes water from all the alcohol. I thought these pads would be a nice addition to my skincare regime to help combat my blackheads, but even using these once a week is too harsh. I feel like I am doing my skin a real injustice by subjecting it to these harsh chemical pads.

This is one of the first full size Origins products that I purchased after receiving a small sample of the Night-A-Mins. I had long been searching for an effective nighttime moisturizer that would nourish and replenish my combination/dry skin without making me overly greasy. This did a great job at that. The consistency is that of a semi-thick cream but it blends beautifully into your skin. After I apply this, my face does look slightly shiny but it absorbs after a few minutes. When I wake up the next morning my skin feels soft and hydrated, but not oily in the least. I have tried other night creams that had me waking up to an oil slick. For someone whose skin is not typically oily all over, it is concerning to have a night cream do this. I think in this night cream, Origins has created that perfect balance. The smell is light and slightly orangey. I especially love that this brand uses all natural ingredients without any fillers or animal products.

I heard great things about these lip/cheek stains so I was very disappointed when I received the stain I purchased in the mail (in the shade Babyboo). Even after exfoliating my lips, the stain appeared very patchy and clinged to skin on my lips. It was difficult to apply and quickly gravitated toward just the center of my lips. It looked like I sipped on some dark cool aid and not in a good way. This worked slightly better on the cheeks but still didn't blend well at all. The color wasn't as suitable for my cheeks with my coloring. I was really hoping this could be a makeup bag staple that would fit the bill for long work days, but every time I try to work with this I just get more frustrated.

I really love this moisturizer from LUSH. I have combination skin and purchased this cream to wear under my SPF moisturizer (L'Occitane) during the day. Although my skin isn't super oily, I wanted something light since I knew I would be layering this under something else. This cream worked very well. The smell is light and natural and the consistency is nice. A small amount goes a long way, and although I have heard some gripe about the amount you get for the price, this container is the same size as many cosmetic grade moisturizers, yet you don't have to use as much as you would with some others, making it a better value. This absorbs into the skin quickly and works nicely under makeup. I hate the feeling of creams sitting on top of my skin so this has been a nice treat.

I adore the Mask of Magnaminty. I use this 1-2 times per week and it does wonders for my skin on many levels. Although I don't have major breakouts, I have large pores and a real tendency towards blackheads. After using this my skin feels refreshed, super smooth and soft and my pores appear noticeably tighter. This mask has a thick consistency but it is fairly easy to work with. You immediately feel the cooling sensation of the mint on your face and although it is intense, especially the first time, it isn't painful or irritating on my sensitive skin. The cooling sensation subsides after about five minutes. As it dries, you can practically feel this bringing out the impurities from your skin. When it's time to wash this off, you have to exercise some patience as it doesn't come off straight away. This serves a purpose though! Rinsing this off using circular motions with your hands, activates the ground aduki beans and gently exfoliates your face. This mask is so multipurpose and I could see it working for several types of people. It draws out impurities, tones, exfoliates and softens the skin. I recommended this to my friend who loved it and even my boyfriend enjoys using this mask with me. To top it all off, this mask is a great value.

I have been disappointed by primers in the past so I was skeptical of this one as well, despite some rave reviews I saw. I got a small sample of this from Sephora with a purchase that allowed me two uses of the product. I was amazed when I sampled this primer! After finishing the sample, I picked up the full size. The product is oil free, but still suitable for my combo/dry skin. It helped my Chanel Vitalumiere foundation from getting too glowy or settling into lines and/or dry patches. This primer also works especially wonderfully with my Laura Mercier mineral powder foundation. This is just a quality product that delivers on exactly what it says it will. The product glides on beautifully and is vegan to boot!

This is the first mineral powder foundation I have tried. I was prompted to buy this after seeing some wonderful YouTube demos that made people's skin look amazing. I have not been disappointed. I have combination/dry skin and this works very well for me. It makes my skin feel velvety soft. It's hardly like I am wearing foundation at all, yet this evens out my skin tone and gives a nice glow, without being shimmery or at all glittery. I have especially been surprised by the staying power of this powder foundation. This remains nearly as nice as when applied, even hours later. One of my biggest gripes with my other foundations is that they start to settle into my pores and latch on to any dry patches by midday. Not so with Laura Mercier. I would recommend this to anyone looking for light coverage who wants a luminous look that lasts.

I recently picked up the Illamasqua lipstick in "scandal" which is a warm, coral red color. I absolutely love it! It wears matte, but is quite creamy, not drying. The color payoff is wonderful and lasts for hours. Illamasqua has a great selection of on-trend colors and I will definitely be getting more of their colors in the future. Since Illamasqua is such a cutting edge brand, I will be looking to them in the future for when I want a lip color that is vibrant and different. I highly recommend their lipsticks!!

I bought the Naked2 Palette because I read lots of the hype and was looking for a nice, wearable palette for traveling and overnights. This did not disappoint! This is definitely more eye shadows than most people need and I have to admit, I was a little overwhelmed when I first got this since it was one of my first palettes. However, all the colors are wearable and work very well together. The combinations are endless and I have created some really nice looks from this. It serves its purpose well and I often throw this in my makeup bag when I am spending a couple days at my boyfriend's and don't want to have to predetermine what eye shadow colors I am going to wear. The shades are neutral but most have shimmer in them. There are just a few matte shades which is the main reason why I couldn't give this palette a 10 star rating. I know it's Urban Decay and they are more known for their shimmery, glittery shades, but this is meant to be a neutral palette. Mattes are much more neutral and versatile than shimmer. With that said, I would still recommend this palette to anyone who wants many different eye shadow options and the ability to create several looks using a natural color palette.

I have been using the Mineralize Skin Finish Natural for several years. I love the feeling of this powder on my skin as it is velvety soft, nourishing and never cakey. I usually apply this to my skin after my moisturizer and concealer. On days I wear foundation, however, I opt for a different powder. This is because I use Chanel Vitalumiere foundation which has quite a dewy finish. The combination of mineralize skin finish and a dewy foundation creates too much shine, even though I have combination/dry skin. This is the only reason I didn't give this a perfect 10 rating. If you are looking for a great stand alone powder that provides medium-light coverage, definitely try this powder. I especially love this worn alone in the summer because it gives just enough coverage, yet does not tip anyone off to the fact that you are wearing makeup. Perfect and natural.
