  • Make Up For Ever 5 Camouflage Cream Palette

Make Up For Ever 5 Camouflage Cream Palette

    This is a Professional-Quality Product!

Make Up For Ever's "Five Camouflage Cream Palette" ($38.00) is probably in every professional's makeup box--now you can own it, too. One shade does not fit all when it comes to disguising under-eye shadows and/or blemishes. Most skins have a yellow undertone. MUFE understands this and offers a variety of shades which work together to match your own skin PERFECTLY. I especially appreciate their adding green to the "Fair/Light Skin Tone" palette to rid skin of annoying redness. This is for all women; there is a palette for "Light/Medium" and dark skin tones as well. Use with concealer brushes and sponges for a perfect finish.

  • Dior Diorskin Nude Skin-Perfecting Hydrating Concealer

I decided to splurge on myself and had read several very positive posts about "Diorskin Nude Skin-Perfecting Hydrating Concealer." This absolutely invisible, perfectly blendable concealer is created with complexion-loving ingredients which hydrate and heal as the formula disguises imperfections. I love using it around my eyes; it is completely seamless, yet any evidence of dark circles is completely gone. The texture is sheer enough to work with, yet substantive enough for coverage. Special translucent pigments allow you to appear both radiant and flawless. Christian Dior, you are magnificent!

  • NYX Cosmetics NYX 5-Color Eye Shadow Palette

A friend of mine told me about NYX a few years ago. I tried a palette in hues of brown (with shimmer and matte finishes) and could not have been more pleased. It's hard to go wrong when working with these satiny, blendable colors, as they are chosen to work perfectly together. They are well-pigmented and last a very long time, especially with NYX's wonderful HD primer. I now own every palette available; there is little difference between these and the pricey brands, if any!

    NYX HD Eyeshadow Base

    A Steal for the Money!

Yes, my heart currently belongs to Too Faced's "Shadow Insurance" and UD's "Primer Potion," but when I tried NYX's HD "Eyeshadow Base" I was amazed at its potency. It keeps shadow on as long as the aforementioned others, if not longer. My shadow stays highly pigmented with this. For only $7.00, what more could you want?

CoverGirl Clean Liquid Makeup, Normal Skin

    A Classic, Great Foundation

This product saw me through years when I had lots of blemishes. Even though those days are gone, I keep some handy. Why? It has a nice texture and blends well. Coverage is buildable, especially if you use a brush for application. The shade is perfect for my natural skin tone. I actually enjoy the medicinal smell (brings back lots of great memories). And the price can't be beaten . . .

  • CoverGirl Clump Crusher by LashBlast Mascara

It's virtually impossible to have clumps with this new product! I don't need the lash/brow comb I normally have on hand when applying mascara. It separate lashes quite nicely and adds a good deal of volume. As a daily-use mascara, however, I'll stick with Benefit's "They're Real!" or some other brands which highlight my eyes a little more effectively. I didn't find this exceptional.

  • Borghese Fango Active Mud for Face and Body

Borghese Fango Active Mud for Face and Body

    Fango is FABULOUS--and Messy!

Face masks--we all need them, both women and men. They unclog pores, help exfoliate old, dead, dry skin, and renew your complexion in general. In high school, I used to whip up a highly effective mask with oatmeal. My skin was soft and radiant after using and I always received compliments. Years ago I decided to quit making my own and began using Borghese's "Fango Mud" after a cosmetic saleswoman talked about its benefits. I had my doubts--digging into the green concoction was a bit eerie. I knew right from the start that this was a serious mask, definitely spa-quality, meant to detoxify, cleanse, and renew. I applied it as directed, liberally--at least one-fourth inch thick, to my face and neck and was startled. There was an immediate stinging sensation. It lasted briefly and settled into an invigorating tingling. One of the benefits is that this can be used all over the body, so it's great if you have blemishes on your shoulders or décolleté. (PLEASE NOTE: This mask can be messy. Make sure that the area where you are working is free of anything which can stain permanently. Also ensure that you are wearing something that is completely washable, and pull your hair back from your face. Otherwise, you may find globs of green where you don't want to see them.) It is to be left on for five to ten minutes. I kept it on for ten. My skin felt supple, but the next day I noticed tiny whiteheads developing over my face. I called the department store and asked what was happening--I was told that this mask, with its Kaolin (clay) base--will actually draw OUT impurities and then begin to heal them. So I continue to use it on a weekly basis. There are no more whiteheads. I rarely have a blemish! Aloe Gel, Mango Butter, Oat Protein, and Olive Extract are among some of the many ingredients which now leave my complexion like luminous satin, with a new clarity and firmness as well. The only reason I am not giving this ten stars is because I first used it with new white towels which never were white again, despite washing with more bleach than I should have. They are pale green . . .

  • Estee Lauder Signature Silky Powder Blush

Estee Lauder Signature Silky Powder Blush

One of the Best Blushes You Can Use!

Generally, powder blush is not my first choice when I want to add radiance to my cheeks. It tends to be drying and look artificial, leaving tell-tale lines of demarcation. A friend gave a compact to me as a gift. It took awhile for me to use it; the shade was lovely, but I stayed with my stain and creamy formulations. One morning I was in a hurry and used the compact along with the enclosed brush, swiftly swiping some blush on the apples of my cheeks and upward. What a pleasant surprise! This powder is silky-soft, giving a glow as natural as any other product, probably even more. It is a high-quality powder, and coverage is both blendable and buildable (especially important if you are using a blush to contour your cheekbones and face in general). Depending on the shade I am using (I have a number of them now), I sometimes sweep across my nose and chin very, very lightly for a sun-kissed, just-came-in-from-the-outside look. Both my mother and mother-in-law (with gorgeous complexions) used Estee Lauder exclusively, and they were as luminous as teenagers well into their older years. What is also important to me is that the color stays put through long hours of teaching, heat, humidity, you name it. Thank you, Estee Lauder, for another staple well worth its price.

    Pixi Eye Beauty Kit

    Pixi Palettes are Exceptionally Pretty!

I don't think that there is one of these sleek palettes which I don't own. They were available at a discount on another site, and I bought them all after the first one. The colors are perfectly complementary to each other, and the finishes vary from matte to shimmer. I am amazed at some the unique and deep hues this company has developed! The colors are finely-milled and blend well (the little brush applicator included is quite nice, but I suggest you work with your own tools for best results). You can go from a neutral to a smoky eye easily, and they last a long, long time, especially when applied over the base some palettes contain or a primer. They are hardly thicker than a credit card, but there is a lot of product in each pod. If you have a hard time finding them at Target, you can still get them for a good price at Amazon or eBay.

  • Estee Lauder Sensuous Nude Eau de Parfum Spray

I don't care for the original "Sensuous," as I find it harsh. This fragrance was given to me as a gift and I was delightfully surprised. It is warm and gentle and subtly seductive, with its key notes of amber, jasmine, sandalwood, vanilla(!), and--of course--musk. Beware the men who trail you when you wear this . . .
