  • CoverGirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation

Great for oily skin. Sets to a powder finish and looks flawless all day. Great stuff that lives up to the hype.

  • Revlon PhotoReady BB Cream Skin Perfector with SPF 30

I like this BB cream. I'm not even sure if it IS a proper BB cream, they seem to be tagging that title on anything that does anything other than just give coverage. But the thing I love the most about Revlon's new version is that it has SPF 30. My acne medications make me especially sensitive to the sun so SPF is a must for me. The only gripe I have is that I wish it was more matifying. I will probably repurchase when my tube is empty.

  • Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Ultra Definition Liquid Makeup

I've tried this Naked foundation I'd say maybe 4 times. Each time with the same effect. I have very oily skin and here in Florida I need a supercharged foundation that will last all day. This is not that foundation. I like how nice and light it is, and the healthy ingredients like peptides are nice but I start to see oil appear back on my t-zone in just an hour. I can't keep piling on the powder, you know that's not flattering in the least. I'll save my bottle for the drier months and hope I have better luck but I've not been impressed by Naked- much better luck with the eyeshadow palettes.

    Almay Clear Complexion Makeup

Good but probably might not repurchase

I liked this foundation but I did have some issues with it. It was kind to my acne-prone skin which was great, and it didn't feel heavy or cakey on my skin. It was blendable and natural looking. Unfortunately it has the tendency to oxidize so it turns slightly darker and more orange the longer I wear it. The coverage could also be better. I'd say it has light-medium coverage that is slightly buildable. I think it should have fuller, more complete coverage considering it's for acne-prone skin. People with my skin type tend to have lots of dark spots, scars and obviously, zits so obviously we have more things to conceal. Also the foundation doesn't wear very long, maybe around 5 hours before it begins to get shiny and melt off. I'll try to find a lighter shade to solve the oxidation issue but if not I'll pass on getting another bottle.

  • Revlon ColorStay Makeup for Normal/Dry Skin
    7.0

Revlon ColorStay Makeup for Normal/Dry Skin

    Nice coverage but feels heavy

It took a while before I could really flesh out how I feel about Revlon ColorStay. When applied with a round brush it looks kind of streaky and unflattering. It's difficult to make it look natural with a brush. It emphasized my patches of dry skin and I thought I hated it. BUT then I tried it with my beautyblender and changed my mind immediately. It looks really nice buffed onto the skin with a sponge, it's more airbrushed-looking. I will say that the formula is on the thicker side to it's easy to go overboard. That said, it does feel a little heavy on the skin so I don't think this is an every day foundation. I sure don't reach for it every morning but it IS great for covering dark spots, acne, what have you. It also oxidizes a little, so I advise maybe going a shade lighter than your skin when you first try it. If not, get one that matches your skin, don't go darker. I haven't tried the Combination/Oily formula yet so I can't speak for that but the Normal/Dry formula is good stuff. I understand why people like it so much.

  • Revlon PhotoReady Concealer
    2.0

    Revlon PhotoReady Concealer

    Disappears & Bad shade range

I still haven't found that HG concealer for covering acne/ acne scars but I love many of Revlon's products so I had high hopes for this little baby. I have a light/medium skin tone w/ neutral undertones and I purchased the light/medium shade. When I got home, aside from finding out that it is wayyy too yellow for my skin, it's also almost completely disappears when you blend it out. It doesn't cover anything, it just leaves a strange, unflattering yellow-y cast over your skin. It does goes on really smoothly and doesn't feel heavy but nonetheless I am very disappointed.

  • Revlon Nearly Naked Makeup

    Revlon Nearly Naked Makeup

Nice and light but bad for oily skin

I'm reviewing Revlon's Nearly Naked liquid foundation as a user with oily skin, large pores and acne discoloration. I liked Revlon's Nearly Naked, but after I finish my bottle I probably won't repurchase. It feels light and refreshing going on, it doesn't look cakey but I would say you would have better luck with this foundation if you have normal to dry skin. It doesn't do great at all with holding up oil control. After only two hours my skin started to look shiny and my pores started showing through- this is WITH setting powder. Also the coverage is on the light to medium side. It is slightly buildable but not much. I can still see the faint outlines of my acne hyperpigmentation after two coats of the foundation. I think I will stick with my Revlon ColorStay instead. I like how light this stuff is and the SPF of 30 is awesome but it just isn't for my skin type.

    Carmex Original Tube

Still can't get used to the smell

I've used Carmex for years and while it is a nice moisturizer and very cheap, the smell is so distinctive and not very pleasant. It's strong and medicinal. Everyone knows what Carmex smells like; when you smell it you never forget it. Carmex isn't my first choice but it's often the lip balm I turn to when stuck in the aisle at the grocery store and my lips need some lovin'.

Tresemme Thermal Creations Protective Spray Heat Tamer

Weird smell but you get used to it

This is famous stuff. I've used other heat protectants and honestly I don't see a HUGE difference between them all but this is a great, affordable alternative. The specially designed spray pump makes for easy application.

  • Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum

    Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum

    Great serum for fighting frizz

They should make a whole bath & body line with just this scent. It's ambrosia. Divine. I love this serum. I run it through my damp hair out of the shower and then pull it up into a bun. Then I sleep on it and in the morning my hair is soft, smooth and shiny.
