DDF's Protect and Correct UV Moisturizer is an SF 15 sunblock lotion to help brighten the skin and protect it from hypermigmentation. I tried this lush and moisturizing (but not heavy!)formula recently. It felt great on the skin, but wasn't ideal for my combination skin during the later days of summer. I do, however, plan to make this a part of my winter skin regimen. I can't speak on the claims of helping with hyperpigmentation and discoloration protection just yet, but it does give a nice glow to the skin. For me the help with the skin conditions are extra bonuses! I wish the SPF was higher, but they do offer other products that I'm anxious to try for my skin needs: DDF Sun Enhancing Protection SPF 30 and the DDF Daily Matte SPF 15-- a mattifying sun block??? I truly need this in my life!

Okay, my five minutes was up. Rinse. I felt my skin to see what it had done on its own. Nice, smooth. Felt like I already had primer on. I then followed with my toner and moisturizer. What did I think overall? It was nice, though I expected more for my use. Remember it works so well, it's not recommended for use more than three times a week. I wanted dramatically different skin. I wanted a radiant glow that I would be afraid to cover up with makeup. My triple oxygen mask at home? Drink water, don't smoke, use primer. Less than $52. My sister who also gave herself a mask agreed.

Used in conjuntion with matching shampoo- After trying this product I was disappointed because my hair actually looked more dull than when I use my usual products. There was no touchable softness, and since my hair is not damaged, I wasn't looking for this to make my hair look less damaged. Now, in this product's defense, the directions on the conditioner advise weekly use for best results or more frequent use on extra dull or damaged hair. However, based on my initiaI results, I am not encouraged to try this product more frequently, if at all. I think another contributing factor may be that this product isn't made for natural (chemical free) hair or even African American hair...and I have both. So, before you decide whether or not you'd like to consider using this product, take those two things into consideration. It may work better for someone of a different hair make up. Overall, this isn't the product for me.

Why I like this: Read these words- oil-free, mattifying, and color range. That's all I needed to read to pique my interest, but let me tell you more. I know you'll be sold! This foundation not only has those properties, but I would dare to wear this without any other makeup. Did you ever have that friend (or maybe even it was you) that would wear foundation while in sweats, running an errand with you to pick up a plant or something as small as pick up the pampers on sale at Target? Yeh, her (or you). Being a makeup junkie, I understand the need as foundation would offer a pick me up to your otherwise dull look. However, against those sweats and hair in a pony tail, the foundation just doesn't blend with your easy going, no frills look. It just looks fake and forced. This foundation is what that friend needs (or you) to look natural, but refreshed. It blends into skin well and offers medium coverage or can be used sparingly for light coverage (my style). It feels creamy as it dispenses, but is light upon application with no greasy feel. I know this sounds gross, but I like to apply with my fingers (for a thin, lotion application). This is one of those foundations where you see someone with flawless skin, but upon further inspection realize the person has something on, not quite sure what, but her skin looks great regardless. Mat velvet+ also cuts down on finding your perfect tinted moisturizer and a great setting powder... It's all in one product! That's right! You don't have to set this foundation with a setting powder as it mattes on its own, unless you want more coverage. This foundation gave me what I expected from MAC Studio Fix Fluid. Perfect for mommies on the go! Slight dislikes: By the fifth hour or so, only my nose (after being outside in 80 degree weather) has become a star, shining brightly (usually my forehead and cheeks too share the spotlight). I'm not turning away from this foundation just because of that, since I can count on this oil blotting powder (only in spots) for my oilies that resurrect. The price point is kind of moderate- high ($34), but for two products in one with great wearability (is that a word, lol?), it's worth it. I wouldn't recommend this to someone with dry skin, unless you like the finish so much that you are sure to moisturize well with a good thick cream before hand.

While I love DiorShow, LOreal Voluminous Carbon Black is my HG mascara. Drugstore, convenient, always a sale for the product. Ultimate black, lengthening, thickening and keeps a curl. The mascara is for those of us that love chunky lashes. If you are a minimalist that likes to keep it light and natural, beware because this packs a lot of drama! Use sparingly for natural dark lashes.... bring the drama or go home! LOL!

The lightweight, silky formula adds a touch of radiance as it evens, tones, and moisturizes.... Pros: light formula, a touch of iridescence, nice fragrance, pretty bottle and oil-free (helps in the heat)! My skin felt smoother and not a bit tacky to the touch through the day (granted that I abstained from outside weather). This product uses the new Pro-Xylane technology to rebuild and replenish the skin. Sounds like a good concept to try. Cons: The moisturizer's bottle is fine, but the box it comes in seems a bit excessive-- put details of the product info on an insert! This product contains no SPF! I honestly took for granted that facial moisturizers these days come with SPF by default. Because of my lifestyle, I need multitasking products. Finding an SPF that I trust and to add another product, layer, anything to my daily routine is not desired. How has Pro-Xylane really helped anyone? Numbers? The price is a bit steep-$25.99 for a drugstore product for the ordinary shopper.

For those that really love light weight foundations for light to medium coverage. Affordable option to the market 'airbrush' foundations. To get a good coverage you may use quite a bit, though extra coverage can be achieved by setting with a powder (my choice MAC's Mineralize Skinfinish Natural pressed powder). I give this a 9 and not 10, because this foundation truly mimics the skin. For everyone that's not a great thing. If you aren't into primers, this foundation will cover, but will show the imperfections in your skin (bumps, indentations, etc.).

Great vibrant colors that will not budge! Not even with soap and water. An oil based remover is the only thing that will make this come off. A variety of colors are offered and is worth every penny. Many people have complaints about the included brush, but the opening of the tube is wide enough that you can use whatever liner brush suits your needs. I love this product in Molten Sol( a deep gold) and Aqualine (shocking turquoise!)
