Philosophy Just Release Me Dual-Phase, Extremely Gentle, Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover
The best around
This is without a doubt, the best eye makeup remover I've ever used. Ever! And I've used just about everything! It instantly melts down even the most waterproof makeup without having to tug and rub your skin! This is also the only remover that will completely remove any false lash glue residue that's left in my lashes. The absolute best thing about it is how it feels like water in your eyes. Seriously! I wear contacts and I forget to remove them sometimes after a long night and this does not cause my eyes, with or without contacts, to burn and sting, even if I use a liberal amount of this. It also does not leave my skin shiny or greasy after using this; other eye makeup removers leave my skin feeling gross because of all the residue left. This product is also oil-free despite having two layers like traditional waterproof makeup removers. Just make sure to shake this product very well, shake it vigorously for at least ten seconds before pouring it out, that way you ensure that you have equally mixed both layers properly. My lashes are left super soft and never crunchy because of this makeup remover and how gentle it is. I barely have any lashes fall out because I don't have to rub and tug at my eyes to loosen up the makeup. It's quite pricey for 18 USD a bottle but for one, it lasts for a long time; two, you don't need a lot; and three, this product is worth every penny for how gentle and effective it removes your makeup without stinging your eyes.

GlamGlow YouthMud Tinglexfoliate Treatment
Wonderful mask, but dries too quickly because of poor packaging
Ever since GlamGlow made it's public launch last year, they have taken skin care by storm! I adore both masks. The other mask, SuperMud (in the white jar) is a lifesaver and one of the best things I've found for clarifying my skin. This mask, YouthMud (black jar) is a wonder exfoliating mask made with volcanic ash pumice and French sea clay that not only resurfaces your skin and gives it a glow, but it also firms and tightens, diminishes dark spots, green tea chunks help detoxify, and promotes overall faster skin turnover. A very little goes a long way with this mask. The thing I love most about it is how stimulating it feels on your face. For some people, it may seem a bit intense, but I love the feeling. I also love how gritty the texture is because I feel like it's really smoothing the skin and any kind of flakes, especially as we get into a cold dry winter season. Scrub your face for about 30-60 seconds, leave it on to dry for 10 minutes and then gently dampen your fingers to scrub and loosen up the mask. Barely wet your hands if you want a grittier scrub, or add more water if you want a gentler scrub when you try to loosen it up. Your skin is left brighter, glowing, and firmer looking. The one thing I hate is the packaging, I do not think it's right for this product. Yes, it's in a jar, but that fact makes it dry out so much quickly. I was using this twice a week and my jar dried out to a solid brick by the time I had 25 percent of the product left, even if I tried to add water to loosen the clay. Any time I receive this mask in a trial tube, I feel that lack of exposure to air greatly prolongs the life of the product. I wish that GlamGlow would switch their products to tubes rather than jars to prevent the product from drying out. The same goes for the SuperMud (white mask). Although that one is more wet, it greatly becomes less effective the more times you open the jar. Other than the poor packaging choice and the drying out, this is a fantastic scrub and mask.

I have ultra dark hair and dry shampoos have always left a white residue, leaving it much worse than right before using the product. I use the Batiste for Dark Brown hair and it's a miracle worker. When I spray it on, it looks like I'm putting cocoa powder on my hair. I shake the can, spray it on, leave it for a minute and then use a boar's hair brush to brush out the residue. In between brushes, I rinse the brush to remove the residue before brushing again. It seriously makes my hair look almost like it was just washed. This is a great product to use to extend the time between washes by a day or so. It's still no replacement for not washing, but on those super lazy days when I can't be bothered to get up an hour earlier to wash and style my hair, this is a life saver! Not only is it hands-down the best dry shampoo I've ever tried, but it's also one of the cheapest. I get it for about 8 dollars at Ulta. This is a very popular product so I try to stock up on it (especially during buy one get one half off sales) because it tends to sell out quickly.

Do any of you remember when you were teens and sometimes you would receive samples in the mail? I remember receiving the original 3-blade Venus razor in the mail when I was 13 when it first came out and I've been using that ever since. Naturally, I change the cartridges every couple of months. So I received one of the new Gillette & Olay five-blade razors to try and it has its pros and cons. First off, I do like the fact that this has five blades because it gives a very smooth shave; much smoother than a new cartridge on my original three-blade Venus. There is a noticeable difference in the closeness of shave with this five-blade Venus, and it also allows me to shave without worrying about getting a nick on my skin. There are two main things I don't like, and that's held responsible on Olay's part with the "lubrication bars." The first is that the scents are absolutely pointless. You can smell the Sugarberry scent the moment you open the package, but after the first use in the shower, it's completely gone. I have no idea why this razor would be scented. The other thing is that the lubrication bars leave a residue on my skin that irritates it if I don't scrub it off with soap. Eventually the bars reduce down to barely anything even though the blades are still sharp.

Be forewarned, this product is NOT for the person who is beginning to get into skincare maintenance. I do believe that this product is truly for the advance skincare user who is familiar with common ingredients as well as someone who has experimented with other skincare products in the past. This is for the person who performs a skincare regimen religiously so their skin has built a tolerance to certain ingredients. This is NOT for the person who has extremely sensitive skin. I honestly DO have sensitive skin, but I am an advance skincare user who has a tolerance. Do NOT use this product if you have never used glycolic acid before (do NOT use this if you do not know what glycolic acid does). Do NOT use this product, or any other product containing glycolic or lactic acid if you refuse to wear sunscreen (sunscreen in your makeup doesn't count). I honestly love every product I've ever tried from Ole except for one (walnut scrub--it's too harsh for my skin). I love this moisturizer because it has glycolic acid and lactic acid which will give you a smooth face and reduce the appearance of dark spots and fine lines. My skin looks visibly smoother after only a week of using this. I am the person who greatly desires skin that does not require makeup and looks so smooth like a supermodel or celebrity. I do recommend that you use this at night time ONLY, and you must absolutely use sunscreen in the day (preferably spf 30 or higher) because gycolic acid will make the skin more sensitive if exposed to sunlight without any protection. In addtion, I recommend using this every other night, and using something else that doesn't have glycolic or lactic acid in it during the nights that you do not use this product. You must give your skin time to heal and you will by giving your skin a rest and using something else every other night. Also, please avoid the eye area when applying this! In addition, it's recommended to wait at least five minutes before applying an eye cream. This is a very creamy moisturizer that delivers wonderful results if you are a person who meets the above criteria. It sounds scary, but it's really not! My skin has seen a huge improvement because of this moisturizer. The only reason I gave this a score of 8 is because Sheer Transformation (another Ole product) is my absolute favorite moisturizer of all time. I love to use that moisturizer in between nights of using this moisturizer!

This left me with dry, flaky skin. I have combination skin and it was over-drying, even on my t-zone.

Anytime my skin starts to make its track back to normalcy after a breakout, I like to use a good exfoliant to remove all the dead skin that usually follows. I received a deluxe sample of this microdermabrasion scrub and it's very powerful. The lemon scent is quite pleasant, but for anyone with sensitive skin, this scrub might be a little too harsh for your skin, especially when you have to scrub for 1-2 minutes as directed. Naturally, cleanse your face prior to using this and make sure you use a nice thick moisturizer afterwards. I recommend that you use this at night rather than in the morning because it can temporarily make your face blotchy and red like after a facial. I prefer a nice thick firming night cream to follow. You're supposed to wait 3 days in between uses as the grains do feel harsh. I wouldn't compare this to a real microdermabrasion (obviously), but it's a powerful exfoliant that's going to do it's job and remove all the dead or dry flakes from your face. If I could compare it, I would compare it to Kate Somerville's ExfoliKate line. This scrub is quite expensive, as is Kate's, but Kate has a small travel tube of ExfoliKate at Sephora for $19 if you want a luxury scrub at the lowest price, which is something that I am more than happy to do.

These are the perfect size to carry around. They smell great and leave my hands feel clean. They're $1.50 each and that can be a little pricey for some, but to me you don't smell a harsh alcohol scent like with most sanitizers.

I got a bottle of this on sale. I love the container it's in, it's fun to keep around and it looks cute. I like the smell of it, it's very warm and comforting. It's very creamy and feels like a dream when it's on. The reason I deducted points was that my skin can sometimes become sensitive to fragrance and I have to go back once in a while to my other fragrance-free lotion. I live in the desert and my skin can get very dry. I wouldn't recommend this to keep your skin moisturized throughout the day, but it's definitely nice to put on at night after taking a bath.

What I love about Ole Henriksen is that his brand uses nearly all natural extracts and it's always gentle for my skin. But best of all, his products work. This brand has become one of my favorite skincare lines available, not to mention that Ole himself is adorable. Anyways, this toner is incredible. My skin normally HATES toner and I always avoid it because it makes the problem worse. Normally my skin is drier and I don't need it, but my skin is also unstable due to hormonal fluctuations, so I get a week a month of oil slick on my face, along with blemish breakouts. This toner is a GODSEND because first off, it does not dry my skin out. Second, The extracts in the toner really do help to purify and tone my skin. Third, it greatly speeds up the healing time of my blemishes; I went on a trip to Los Angeles and I always get breakouts whenever I travel there. I put this on in the morning and the next day the breakout I had was nearly all gone. Fourth, this does control oil beautifully. You need to put this on clean dry skin after you wash your face and before you put on anything else. It's very refreshing with a nice little tingle. Let it dry completely. I do notice that when I have my oil slick time every month, this is the only product that will keep my oil and shine at bay and prevent my makeup from melting off. Like I said, it doesn't dry out my skin, especially the skin around my blemishes; this toner does a great job at quickly reducing blemish size and inflammation. Your skin is calmed down and under control. It costs about 30 dollars for a large bottle, but I use this sparingly, only when I need it. So it will last me for a very long time. For people with consistently oily skin, I would highly suggest to give this a try. You can find it on the Sephora website or in the large freestanding stores in the malls.
