    Revlon Super Lustrous The Gloss

    An Ironically Lacklustre Gloss

I was fairly disappointed in my experience with these glosses, as Revlon has always had good quality lip products. I purchased this in the Glossy Rose (a medium rosy bronze) and Pink Afterglow (a cotton candy shade). The initial texture is silky smooth, which I appreciated. But not long after you apply this, your lips begin to feel like theres a heavy film covering them. The shades are pretty nicely pigmented, but the color doesn't have the staying power I expected and constant reapplication is necessary. The shine is natural and soft, but again, it doesn't last. I'm usually not too bothered by strongly scented lip glosses, but for some reason, I found the fragrance of these to be too sickly sweet and cloying. The packaging is attractive and I liked the wand applicator, but the feeling it leaves on my lips and the scent doesn't work for me. Not a bad gloss overall, but there are better options out there.

  • Dove Ultimate Beauty Care Deodorant

    Dove Ultimate Beauty Care Deodorant

False Advertising, But Still A Fairly Good Product

I have never been fond of the clear gel deodorants, as they seem to take forever to dry, while at the same time, I cannot stand the tell tale signs of white marks left on clothing by solid formulas. So, I figured this might be the solution to my dilemma, as Dove claimed this one to have a "revolutionary new formula" that really will be clear even after it dries. From my experience with this, that is just not true. Once you swipe it on, all seems well and it does indeed look clear, but soon after, the residual whiteness settles in and the only thing this "ultimately" does is leave streaks on your shirts. I purchased this in the unscented, because I was tired of having my deodorant competing with my perfume. I have to say that this DOES perform in the anti-perspirant department very well. It keeps you fresh all day long, but it's a terrible failure in the aspect of being an invisible solid.

  • BareMinerals Concealer Broad Spectrum SPF 20

Bare Escentuals is the first and only brand I've ever needed to use and I have been a loyal customer for quite some time. My mom first introduced me to it, and I was immediately drawn to the fact that its the original mineral makeup, making it healthy for your skin, and that it looks completely natural because it truly does! As the name suggests, your skin looks bare, as if you weren't wearing anything on it at all. This particular product from the line is wonderful because it hides any blemishes you might have and it diffuses out imperfections so that you have a flawless and natural finish, while it still manages to feel absolutely weightless on your face. It's not "shimmery" but it does provide your complexion with a flattering sheen, making you look luminous but not sparkly or shiny. Like other reviewers have mentioned here, there is a bit of a learning curve to be mastered in the application of bareMinerals, but as long as you follow the "swirl, tap, buff" technique that is associated with this line, its fairly easy to get the hang of and is very worth it. I will never ever venture into the world of liquid makeup or pressed powders that are loaded with chemicals and make you look like youre wearing a mask. This is a much more beneficial option and I could really go on and on raving about how amazing it is. I highly recommend it!!

  • The Body Shop Dewberry Perfume Oil

This is a beautifully soft fragrance; it's a pretty blend of fruits and berries (with maybe just a hint of spice) mixed together in such a way that makes this both amazingly pleasant & sweet smelling while not being the least bit cloying or overpowering. The fact that this is in a perfume oil form makes it incredibly long wearing; a couple dabs on your pulse points will last you all day and night, with your natural body heat releasing the fragrance and providing a subtle deliverance of scent for hours. This tiny bottle will last you for ages because the product is so highly concentrated that you need to use very little and the application with the stick attatched to the lid is easy and convenient. This fragrance is perfect for everyday wear, and as it smells rather romantic as well, it could be used for maybe a date or a more formal occasion and still be very appropriate. I adore this and it's highly recommended!!

  • The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil Blackhead Minimizing Mask

I love The Body Shop's line of Tea Tree Oil products, especially this particular little treasure. It is hands down THE best mask you will find!! It smoothes on your skin with a soothing cooling sensation, and it zaps pimples right up! It diminishes large pores a great deal and it's perfect for the often problematic T-zone because it truly does get rid of blackheads/excess oil. Your skin is left revitalized and clear! And I have to say that I love the scent of the tea tree extract too. :)

  • CoverGirl Wetslicks Fruit Spritzers Lipgloss

I really wanted to love this one, being the absolute gloss feind that I am. But it just didn't measure up for me. I have it in Strawberry Splash (a seemingly true-to-its name fresh strawberry shade). In the tube, the gloss looks fairly pigmented with a touch of golden shimmer and it's just a shade or two deeper than my lips, so I thought this would be perfect to give me a splash of color and shine. Upon application though, the color is far too sheer, so much so that it's basically clear. It seems like I could achieve the same effect by using a clear gloss, so I was really disappointed. The scent & taste is pleasant however, maybe a tad artificially fruity, but sweet and not too heavy. I also really like the application of these with the slanted tip because you can distribute the gloss evenly over your lips. The consistency is somewhere in the medium range, not too sticky yet not too thin, so the shine lasts a decent amount of time. Despite these redeeming qualities, the lack of color is still a big issue for me. Maybe the other shades in this line are more noticeable than this one, but I remain unimpressed for the most part.

  • Neutrogena Gentle Oil-Free Liquid Eye Makeup Remover for Waterproof Mascara

This is the only eye makeup remover I ever use! I have extremely sensitive eyes and am always wary about the products I use around them; Neutrogena has been a trusted & favorite brand of mine for quite some time, so when they came out with this I tried it and it's the best drugstore remover on the market. It's light and gentle, and doesn't require tugging to remove even waterproof mascara. Simply moistening a cotton ball with this and sweeping it over your eyelid and through your lashes effectively removes every bit of makeup effortlessly. Before I began using this, my lashes would constantly fall out in the mascara removal process because I would have to basically scrub them with the remover to get them clean, but thats not an issue with this one! The formula is nongreasy, and it leaves the eye area refreshed and soft without a trace of makeup left. It's perfect!

  • CoverGirl LashExact Mascara
    9.0

    CoverGirl LashExact Mascara

    The Best Drugstore Brand

I love this mascara!! It's the *only* one that I've found to actually live up to the company's claims. It has absolutely zero clumpage, and the consistency is very smooth. I think the plastic bristle brush, which seems to be the new innovative trend in the mascara world these days, has been made perfectly to grab every last lash and coat them all evenly in a swipe of color. The "Very Black" shade that I use, since my lashes are already black, is a true, deep jet black with no grayish or brownish tones to it like a lot of other black mascara shades out there. The formulation is buildable, so you can sweep the brush through your lashes a couple of times for extra coverage and not have your lashes get stuck together or become goopy. I think its a relatively good value, though I do think they could put more product in the tube, as when I compared the net wt. to other brands, you get about half as much as you do with others. Also, mine tends to dry out a lot quicker than others, which of course means more frequent repurchasing, but since this is my number one mascara, I overlook that. Bottom line, if you want full, lush, soft lashes, try this one! You will avoid the brittle, spidery look and just have that natural fan of lashes that makes your eyes pop.

  • Lancome Color Fever Lipstick
    8.0

    Lancome Color Fever Lipstick

    A Silky & Sensuous Pout!

Being a lip gloss girl, I've never really been inclined to purchase and test different lipsticks because I usually find them to be too bold/waxy/heavy for me. And because they are usually full coverage, there is not much room to make a mis-selection in shades because the colors are never very forgiving. But then I recieved this one in Tempt Me (a bright blossom shade) as a gift from a friend, and I fell in love with it!! The formula is surprisingly light, sheer, and creamy, with none of the expected waxiness/heavyness from an average lipstick. It glides on your lips in a single, smooth sweep of flattering color and makes them look naturally flushed. It has a pretty shimmer to it, and a soft, glossy finish. It wears off evenly with no residual grittyness, and once the shine has faded, the color still remains faintly, almost as if it's a stain. There's no typical "lipstick scent", which I appreciate. I'm not sure if I will repurchase this after I'm out because the price is fairly steep, but it's definitely a good quality product, well above your average lip color.

  • bareMinerals Maximum Coverage Concealer Brush
    10.0

    bareMinerals Maximum Coverage Concealer Brush

The Best Concealer Brush Out There

I love the coverage & precision application this one gives me when I use it with my bareMinerals Bisque. It hides any blemishes I have so well that they just vanish. It's perfect for blending because of the tapered tip and flat sides, and it really allows you to have the benefits of maximum concealing while still looking completely natural. The hairs are silky against your skin, and the makeup never cakes onto them. It picks up the perfect amount of product and deposits it so that you have a flawless finish, devoid of any imperfections whatsoever. Very worth the expense and highly recommended!!
