I like the Lancome primer for lashes for building length, but I have to say that this one by Origins does a much better job of giving me (at least) more volume in my lashes. It's also much less clumpy than any other lash primer I have ever tried. It goes on a little wet, and works better if you give it a few seconds to "dry" before putting on mascara. I haven't had a problem with flaking as the editor's review mentioned, and actually find that my mascara stays on better for longer when I use this. It adds another step to the routine, but it's worth it. It is pricier than some, but the tube is huge and more environment friendly.

I was bummed that this didn't work as well as the original Magix primer. While that one never feels greasy or heavy, this tinted version felt almost like stage makeup. It was not the easiest to blend and no matter what I did you could see where this makeup ended and where my natural skin began. It wasn't because the color was wrong but because of how oddly unnatural this makeup went on. My skin reminded me of a plastic doll's. Adding other makeup like blush and eye shadow only increased the plastic doll like effect. It rubbed off pretty easily, but it took several tries to actually wash the product off of my face. I happily exchanged this for a new tube of the plain old primer.

I have tried so many acne products that I cringe when I think how much money and time I have spent. I first tried their drying lotion, which is also amazing, and then I got the buffering lotion which is fantastic as well. Even though I only have occasional breakouts, I tend to get cystic and regular pimples when they occur. I finally purchased this during my last breakout, and I am overjoyed with how well it works. Yes it stinks, yes you end up with pink spots on your face at bedtime, but it's a great trade off for waking up with your pimples GONE. I use this in tandem with the drying and buffering lotions, and my breakouts are gone within two days tops. Where were these products when I was in high school??

While this soap does clean your skin, it tends to leave a bit of a film on it as well. This is a really odd soap. It's hard to combine it with water and even harder to rinse off. It's almost like it repels water. The scent wasn't horrible, but not something that I would want to smell every day. I never felt like my face was clean after using this, and even experienced a few more breakouts while I tried the sample bottle I received. Might work better as a body wash??

Even though this has alcohol in it, you would never know it from how good it leaves your skin feeling. Unlike many toners, this one doesn't dry out your skin or leave it burning. It's just very refreshing, especially when used after being outside on a muggy summer day. It takes off dirt and oil and sweat and leaves your skin feeling smooth and clean.

I really like Mario Badescu products as I have yet to find one that causes a reaction with my skin, last a long time, or fail to deliver. This cleanser is no exception. I love how creamy and gentle it is. It doesn't strip my face of all moisture but gets rid of dirt and makeup without a problem. I started using it as a body wash as well, and have seen a change for the better in my normally desert dry skin. It also smell much better than most cleansers on the market. Definitely worth the cost.

The brush/comb applicator took some getting used to, but I have to say that this is really the only downside to this mascara. I was really happy with how full my lashes looked, and I didn't need to use a primer either. When using this mascara with a primer, friends were asking if I was wearing false eyelashes because it was about time. No one believed it was just this mascara and primer. I can't really say I noticed a real difference in how long my lashes appeared, but I really didn't mind as I suffer more from sparseness. I found for me that the comb side works best if some of the mascara is wiped off each side first. I use the brush side, then the comb, then a swipe or two of the brush side again which removes any clumps and spider leg lashes. It wore really well all day, too. Even after napping in the car after a day out and about I didn't have any circles or flakes and my eyes still looked great. I will certainly add this mascara to my makeup drawer again.

I have a ten piece brush set from Sephora, and they are by far the best brushes I have ever used - they even beat out those used by a few makeup artists whom I have used. They are really easy to hold and use, the brush hairs are incredibly soft feeling but are not so limp or stiff that picking up product is difficult. They never shed and clean in a breeze. I used to get irritation from using brushes that scratched or were so soft I had to use more pressure/time/applications to get any product placed. I have had mine for over a year and can't recall ever seeing any lost bristles. Yes, these brushes are expensive, but when you consider what you spend continually replacing cheap and crappy brushes versus buying them once and having them last for several years (at least) - not to mention being able to apply makeup so much easier, faster, and more professionally - the cost isn't really a deal breaker anymore.

I was prepared for the worst when I started using this mascara. I had purchased the Sephora mascara sampler kit and after using Tarte's mascara, I didn't think this would live up to how well the Tarte and other brands worked. I was really pleasantly surprised and pleased with how well their "house" brand of mascara actually worked. It goes on very evenly (the brush rocks) with no clumping. It's even easy to get those little lashes in the corners of my eyes. For a non-waterproof mascara, this one didn't smudge, flake, or disappear after a full day of wear, even after a brief rain shower and a few eye rubs. It came off easily without needing a separate remover and didn't leave my lashes brittle. Though not my absolute favorite brand, I would (and likely will) certainly purchase this again.

I adore this hair spray from Aveda. Even though the scent is a bit strong, the control it gives rocks. This is Aveda's "lightest" hold hair spray, but just a few spritzes of this will keep your hair in place all day - wind, rain, hurricane. I had to learn to use a lot less than I would with other brands because if you use too much of this it will weigh hair down, especially fine hair, and you will end up with seriously crunchy hair. Even if you do use too much, this spray is really easy to brush out so you can start over again without having problems restyling like you can with other brands. It also doesn't leave behind those yucky little white flakes of product when you brush your hair out. Hair is still soft at the end of the day, too. No more going to bed feeling like your hair is sticky, stringy, or crispy. It's pricey, but since so little is needed, a bottle easily outlasts many other brands. Since this is Aveda's lightest hold hair spray, I can only wonder how strong their max hold spray is!
