One thing I hate to switch up is my makeup, but I was invited to a friend’s Mary Kay party and didn’t know what to expect; I’d never been to one or used MK products before. Searching through the products in the brochure can be overwhelming, but one thing I knew I needed was a new eyeliner, so I started there. I found the Mary Kay eyeliner and decided on it not hoping for much in regards to it being much different than other eyeliners I’ve used, they all seem like the next in my opinion. I chose the eyeliner in brown because black just doesn’t work for my skin tone and brought it home to try. I didn’t try it until the next day, but when I went to put it on, I was pleasantly surprised. The shade of brown was perfect for my skin tone and definitely highlighted the color of my eyes. The makeup itself was extremely easy to apply and smoothed on rather easily on the line of my lower lid. I have a terrible time putting eyeliner on the top of my lids, so I usually skip it, but it applied easily there as well. The thing I like most is the built-in sharpener. I hate when any eyeliner gets dull, so it’s great to have that neat little took right on the eyeliner lid. The one thing I would complain about, if you can really call it that, is the fact that I seem to have difficulty keeping the eyeliner pushed up when applying. By this I mean, the eyeliner falls back down into the tube slowly while I apply it. It’s not a huge deal, but it can be frustrating when all of a sudden the eyeliner is no longer there, but has fallen back down again. Overall, this is a really great, long-lasting eyeliner and I definitely recommend it.

Being in my early twenties, I shouldn’t have too many anti-aging concerns when it comes to the beauty products I use. However, I truly believe that it’s couldn’t hurt and could actually be quite beneficial to consider anti-aging techniques now before it’s too late. This being said, I really wanted to try a night moisturizer or cream, something thick and heavy that I could put all of my face at night and that would be anti-aging in some way. Currently the beauty market is flooded with anti-aging products designed for every need and every budget, so it’s not an easy task searching out the best and most fitting product for the individual. As someone who has loved Clinique products for years now, I decided to go down that route. It’s a mid-priced brand that offers excellent products for the price, in my opinion. I went to the Clinique counter at my local department store and wanted to get the Youth Night Surge cream that they had, but the saleswoman told me about this Super Rescue Antioxidant Night Moisturizer, which according to her is more fitting for younger people. I didn’t know this and loved this bit of info, so I bought it. I was so excited to apply it to my face that night and to hopefully see how well it actually worked in the morning. Overall I found that this was a good night moisturizer. The key term, however, would be moisturizer and not cream. I was looking for something that would’ve been a little or a lot thicker than this product. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a good product and it certainly moisturizes, but I’m not sure if it’s enough to say it’s a night product. I didn’t really notice any difference in my skin from my night and day moisturizers. Even with this in mind, I found it to be quite nice, it didn’t have any harsh smell, and it applies very easily.

There are tons of eye makeup remover products out on the market today, so it’s difficult to say which to purchase exactly, which works best, etc. I have used all types of eye makeup remover from the department store brands to something I could pick up at my local drugstore. The thing I look for the most is effectiveness, yet something that is going to cater to my skin needs. I have very sensitive skin and it can be difficult for me to find just the right products for my skin type. Honestly, eye makeup remover is no exception. I have used brands in the past that I’ve given up on because of eye allergies and sensitizes or even ineffectiveness. We all know how stubborn waterproof mascara, eyeliner, and eyeshadow can be and even eye area concealer. Not to mention, you don’t want to scrub too much around the eye area, which is home to your most delicate skin and where damage can so easily occur. This being said, I decided to look for the most gentle products on the market. When I searched for “gentle” + “eye makeup remover” I came upon the Estee Lauder gentle eye makeup remover. Yay! I was so excited to find something that claimed to be gentle. The real test would be using it on my sensitive eyes. Well, I got it in the mail and the first most awesome thing I noticed upon opening the bottle was that it was virtually scent free. Good sign for someone with sensitivity issues like me. I put a dab on a cotton round and gentle started using on my upper eye lid. It worked great and I could definitely see what was removed on the cotton round. I tried it on the lower lid and found it to work a little less effectively unless I folded the round in half and really got into that small space, but it turned out to work just fine. I didn’t have to scrub too hard and I didn’t have any irritations. It lives up tot he title of being gentle and I highly recommend this product.

I was looking around the internet for a brush cleaner or shampoo and came across several, some of which had good reviews and others that didn’t. I finally looked into the Sephora brush shampoo and decided on it. I had never used a shampoo on my makeup brushes before, but my new foundation brush required a lot more than just water. I couldn’t seem to get it quite clean and I was really excited when the shampoo came in the mail. I like that this sanitizes, according to the label anyway. I really liked that idea because I would hate for any bacteria on my brushes to cause breakouts. Anyway, I tried this per the directions on the label and found that it cleans my brushes remarkably well. The liquid makeup brushes were a little more difficult to clean, which is why I decided to give this 8 stars instead of 10. I had to use quite a bit more of the shampoo in the palm of my hand to get the liquid makeup brushes clean. However, it is an overall good brush shampoo and doesn’t have any harsh chemicals, smells, and has worked for me pretty well thus far. In addition, this brush shampoo, in my opinion is helping me to keep my brushes longer. As someone who values the idea of conservation in every area of my life, I like the idea of using brushes rather than disposable swabs or sponges as a small way to keep some things out of landfills. By keeping my brushes clean, I am able to keep them longer and use them more often than I might have otherwise. Furthermore, my brushes seem almost like new after using the brush shampoo because their original softness is brought back after they are clean and dry. Overall, I highly recommend this product.

I hadn’t used Tarte anything before getting this product as a gift a few months ago. It came with a number of other Tarte products and I was excited to try them. The fact that it is made from Amazonian clay seemed really interesting to me. I mean, what a unique product, right? The fact that it is supposed to last 12 + hours, on the other hand, is something I was a tad skeptical of. I haven’t come across many eye shadows that lasted that long and wasn’t expecting to come up on any in the near future. I got this in a darker shade of brown, which I thought at first was too dark for my skin tone, but blended it looks perfect and actually quite stunning. I love the texture of this product, which is mousse-like and and very easy and soft to apply. It blends very well, so don’t give up on it if you put it on and you think it looks too heavy. You should definitely blend this eyeshadow. When it comes to lasting for 12 hours, like I said, I was totally skeptical, but I gave it a whirl anyway not really thinking anything of it. When I got home after an 8 hour day of work and after eating dinner and sitting around the house for a few hours, I decided it was time to shower and wash my face. I looked in the mirror and voila! The Tarte eyeshadow was still going strong and almost as thick as it was when I put it on in the morning. It wasn’t difficult to remove with regular face wash and the rest is taken care of easily with even a gentle eye makeup remover. Overall, I’m very satisfied with this product and highly recommend it to anyone looking for something that won’t run and lasts a long time!

I honestly hate using pressed powder or compacts because for my face and skin type, they just end up making me look dull and my skin looks lifeless. I have never found one that I really liked. When I received the Diorskin compact for Christmas one year, along with a number of other Dior products, I wasn’t sure about whether or not this was going to be something I’d like. I graciously accepted the gift of course because come on, it’s Dior! It comes in such a lovely little velvety blue case and I just love how the Dior exclusive applicator is in a separate compartment from the actually product. It’s easy to just put in your bag and go and I honestly never worry about the powder cracking or anything because it’s so finely pressed. Anyway, back to my experience USING it. Like I said, I don’t usually like powders or compacts because they just take away my glow and sometimes cause more oil than is necessary for my skin. I found this powder to be remarkably refreshing. I never felt that it was too heavy or too cakey and it always goes on very lightly. I like it so much, I even find the confidence to just wear it alone over my moisturizer and sunscreen. I really love that it has a bit of SPF in it, which I’ve found is true for a number of Dior products, so that I know there is at least some benefit to putting this on my face. Another good thing is that it lasts a long time. For me, I put it on during the day and rarely retouch my face. I don’t do this much anyway, but for a powder, this really lasts a long time! All-in-all, this is a great product, even if pricey, and it’s definitely worth a try.

I received this mascara as a Christmas gift from my boyfriend and was ecstatic to try it out. I’ve been an avid Dior makeup user for a few years now and really have no complaints about any of the products and have found that most of them work for my skin and are of high quality. This mascara is no different. However, this was the first “designer” mascara I’ve ever used, so of course I was really excited to try it out. I received the waterproof kind in black and wasn’t sure about it at first because I’ve never been a fan of waterproof anything. It’s always way harder to remove and it usually ends up clumpy after a short amount of time. Waterproof mascara that I’ve used in the past that wasn’t Dior always ended up clumpy after a few uses and after air got into the container. I did not find that with this product. It only got clumpy when it was past its shelf life. It applied smoothly every time and the brush stayed relatively clump free. I always worry about removing waterproof mascara because I’ve had problems in the past where it doesn’t remove easily and I’m left with raccoon eyes. I’m glad to say that this mascara was removed quite easily with ordinary, mild eye-makeup remover. The only con for me is the price. I doubt I’ll keep buying this unless it’s been given to me as a gift only because it’s very expensive, but that’s no surprise when it comes to using Dior products. They are always pricey, but in the end I justify the price by considering the high quality. The packaging is gorgeous and the quality is as expected for any Dior product. I highly recommend giving this particular mascara a try if you are in the market for a designer mascara or are just thinking of trying something new.

I recently came to own a number of Josie Maran Argon oil products. I heard of Argon oil in the past, but wasn’t sure what it was all about and how to even use it. Along with the Moroccan Argon oil, I received the whipped argon oil and the argon balm. The first thing I had to do was search how to use this product. I had no idea how to use the pure oil on my body and was leery to put it on my face, so I first tried it on my arms and legs. I was skeptical about how far it would go and how it would absorb, or not absorb, into my skin. I suffer from dry skin most often in the winter months, but it’s always been a problem for me year round, so I thought this couldn’t hurt. I applied it directly to my arms and legs and then applied the whipped oil on top of it. I was impressed from the first use. The first thing I’d like to say is that the smell is intoxicating. It’s almost good enough to eat and perhaps you even could, but I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it. It applies with a dropper, so it comes out in drops, obviously, but don’t let that confuse you. A single drop will go a long way. Now, for the moisturizing bit. I had no idea how awesome argon oil was before using this product. Now, after using it for about a month, my skin is absolutely radiant and smooth. I have pilaris keratosis and have noticed a significant improvement in the look of my upper arms when I apply the argon oil to that region. My legs are just gorgeous, not to brag or anything, but the oil kind of gives them that luxurious sheen you see on models. I ended up using it as a base for my regular facial moisturizer and WOW. My face is like a baby’s when I wake up and it seems so much healthier. Finally, another great use for this product is on the hair. I just comb a few drops from the roots to tip and then tie it up in a bun two hours prior to taking a shower. I’ve noticed an incredible difference in the softness and shininess of my hair. Definitely consider giving this product a whirl!

There are a few things that attracted me to this product. The first thing was that it was a 5-in-1 product, meaning that all of my hair cleansing and conditioning necessities were rolled into one package. I was skeptical at first and infomercials can definitely seem sketchy. I was also attracted to the safety of the products used in Wen. I am not a fan of parabens and sulfates, so that was a big plus for me. Finally, I love the smell of almonds, especially in products that I use. With that being said, I started using Wen Almond Mint. The thing that I will recommend first and foremost when using this product is to use it the correct way. It is not a shampoo and should not be used like a shampoo. When using Wen or any cleansing conditioner really, you have to use a lot of product. I mean a lot. The bottle of Wen says to use as much as 12 pumps depending on your hair length. Do this! It won’t clean your hair thoroughly if you don’t follow the directions. You also want to make sure that you rinse it well. If you don’t, you’ll end up with a creepy film on your hair and that’s never a good thing. My experience with Wen has been nothing but incredible. After just the first use, I fell totally in love with this product and have continued to use it once daily for almost a month now. It gets 9 stars from me because even though I love it and have nothing bad to say about the product itself, it is quite expensive. Other than the price, I have nothing to complain about. My hair has never been softer, shinier, or more manageable than it has been while using Wen. I highly recommend giving this product a try.
