  • Barista Bath and Body One Lump Or Two

This lovely scrub smells of coffee, and uses both ground coffee, sugar and sea salt to exfoliate skin. Definitely smells delicious and leaves skin feeling soft. A bit greasy in the shower, though, so be forewarned.

  • Yves Saint Laurent Beauty Parisienne Eau de Parfum Spray

When I received the new scent, Parisienne, from Yves Saint Laurent I thought the bottle was so pretty and there, unfortunately, is where my compliments end. From the very second I spritzed this on my arm, I wanted to gag. I never thought it would be possible to bottle the scent of an old woman and a cedar chest so perfectly. And here's the thing, I don't mean to disrespect older women because honestly, the older ladies I know would never wear this, but the stereotypical "old woman" scent is definitely what I first noticed. While staying power in a perfume is usually a good thing, in this instance I was cursing the staying power because all the scrubbing in the world couldn't get the smell off of me. Save your money on this one.

  • L'Oreal Paris Telescopic Explosion Carbon Black Mascara

Telescopic Explosion by L'Oreal has a very small wand so it takes twice as long to apply your mascara and there's no real benefit. My lashes were not better defined, nor did they look longer or thicker. I love a great mascara (sometimes I just throw that on and a little foundation on an especially lazy day) but this stuff could never compete with Lash Blast for me. I say save your money - I'd be surprised if this stays on shelves long anyway.

  • Aveeno Positively Ageless Resurfacing Scrub

This scrub is so wonderful I can't stop raving about it to friends. It is a very light scrub (not that feeling of ripping off a layer of your skin) which actually warms up the second it hits your skin (still have no clue how that magic happens). Anyway, it leaves my skin feeling soft (not dry) and it uber-cheap at only 7 bucks. Totally worth an immediate trip to the store.

  • L'Oreal Paris True Match Super Blendable Makeup

L'Oreal has totally hit a homerun with their True Match foundation. I am so impressed with the fact it matches my skintone perfectly (the chart at the drugstore actually works), is sheer enough so I don't look like I'm wearing a painted mask but yet it covers my uneven skintone. It doesn't dry my skin and it's so cheap! I mean, I was shelling out 40 bucks on department store brands and this one is only 8 bucks.

  • L'Oreal Paris Extra-Volume Hydra Collagen Plumping Mascara

My other new go-to is the Extra-Volume Collagen Mascara by L'Oreal. What impressed me the most about this new mascara is that my lashes actually looked fuller without using my eyelash curler. I was stunned! Also, minimal clumping, which I love. The wand is fat and contoured (kind of is curvy like a woman's body) so it really plumps up lashes. The mascara was a bit hard to get off (even the non-waterproof one), so you just have to put a little more armwork into the scrubbing at night. Well worth the money, though, in my opinion.

  • L'Oreal Paris Revitalift Deep-Set Wrinkle Repair 24HR Eye Duo

I have been using their Revitalift Deep-Set Wrinkle Repair Eye Duo (you know the cool, red tube that Andie MacDowell talks about in the commercial) for a few weeks now and I am really happy with the results (and very surprised, actually). One side of the tube has the AM cream (which contains SPF) and the other end is the PM cream. The creams contain Pro-Retinol A which suppsedly aids in reducing the size and depth of deep-set wrinkles. While I can't speak to "deep-set" wrinkles, I have small ones around my eyes and they have dramatically reduced in size. Both creams are fragrance free and instantly sink into the skin so you don't have any sticky residue to deal with. I also love the fact that the tube is so easy to travel with (no lids coming undone in the suitcase). While the tube costs a somewhat hefty $19.99 I think it's well worth it. Just think what you'd pay (and I have many times paid for) a department store brand. In comparison, this is a bargain.

  • Caress Evenly Gorgeous Exfoliating Body Wash

Caress Evenly Gorgeous Body Wash is a definite improvement on the original Caress (not that I didn't like it, but it is, well, boring). The Evenly Gorgeous Body Wash contains burnt brown sugar and karite butter which make it smell fantastic and really help to exfoliate and hydrate my skin. The lather is great but the scent doesn't last long on the skin which is a bit disappointing considering the scent is so fabulous. At $3.50 for the wash you definitely can't go wrong. Also, there is a $1.00 off coupon on their site sp check it out!

  • Chapstick True Shimmer
    8.0

    Chapstick True Shimmer

True Shimmer is a great drugstore find.

I have always considered myself a Blistex girl. I mean, I feel like you either buy Blistex or you buy ChapStick and you just stick with it for whatever reason (I guess why mess with something that isn't broken). I remember the last time I used ChapStick (I'm thinking it was early 90's because I vaguely remember that pop song "No More Lies" was on the radio. You know, the one with the girl who had a sickenly high-pitched voice when she spoke, but for some reason her singing voice was "normal") Well, when I last tried ChapStick I didn't like it at all because I found it waxy and it had a weird scent to it (it was the old-school ChapStick in the black-labeled tube) so I decided to check out the new ChapStick line True Shimmer to see if this Blistex girl could convert. I am happy to say, I was pleasantly surprised. The True Shimmer line promises moisturized lips with a subtle shimmer and it does deliver. The formula is not waxy at all (like I remember from the 90's) and my lips are incredibly soft and not sticky. The shimmer is extremely subtle so if you're expecting a glossy look, this isn't for you. However, if you want a slight "glittery" sheen, then check out this line. I love the tropical (yummy coconut and pineapple) and adore the Peppermint Rush (minty, tingly goodness) which hits shelves in August. The Botanical Berry is just okay (it smells like the old Kissing Cooler by Maybelline in strawberry), and the Blended Fruit Sherbet (debuts in August) is downright nasty (scent reminds me of an extremely cheap little girl's lipgloss mixed with medicine). These sticks are only $2.79 so you can afford to check out all the flavors (no major economic commitment if you hate one).

  • L'Oreal Paris HiP Studio Secrets Professional Color Presso

I tried this in both Swanky and Trendy and I'm on the fence about this product. The idea behind these lipgloss duos is that you can either use each gloss on its own or you can combine both to create a different color. The problem is that it's next to impossible to combine both colors because you can't squeeze both sides of the tube at the same time (unless you have giant hands, that is). The colors are pretty (very sheer) and the container is nice and small (perfect for fitting into an evening bag) so it does make for a very good travel option. Also, the container is not the usually soft lipgloss tube, so it is harder to squeeze out product on accident in the bottom of a bag (if I had a nickel for every time a pen got covered with gloss, I would be a rich lady.) Overall, I would buy these lipgloss duos again, but only if they were on sale.
