  • SkinCeuticals Physical Fusion UV Defense SPF 50

It's pretty common knowledge these days that sunscreen is a must for healthy, beautiful skin. But if you have a problem with acne and/or sensitive skin, you're no stranger to the horrors of sunscreen. They burn, they're greasy and they cause breakouts. If you do some research on sunscreen ingredients you'll learn to avoid "chemical" blockers (like avobenzone, benzophenone, octyl methoxycinnamate and PABA for example) which can burn and cause breakouts. You'll find it's better to use a sunscreen with "physical" blockers: titanium dioxide and zinc oxide. Problem solved? not exactly. These ingredients are white, super opaque white, and they tend to make you look dead or like a not-so-beautiful geisha. So if you're using a sunscreen with physical blockers you'll probably want a tinted formula to alleviate this problem. And cue skinceuticals physical fusion uv defense. This is the ONLY sunscreen I've used that hasn't caused major problems for my skin. It does burn a little at first but hasn't caused any redness. I actually cringed the first time i put this on my skin, it feels greasy before it sets in. The tinted formula is supposed to be "universal" but I can't see this looking good on really pale or really dark skin. I'm right in between light and medium with yellow undertones and i find this a little to pinky-orange. Luckily it's not very obvious and works out with a light dusting of mineral makeup (and it actually helps make my skin tone look more even!) It's lasted through hours of sweating from workouts (and a few major DIY landscaping adventures), I haven't swam with it yet so i can't contest to it's waterproof abilities. My biggest qualm with this product is the price. It's $30 for a tiny 1 .7 oz. bottle! To have finally found a sunscreen that doesn't make me breakout, however, is worth every penny. I will use this for life.

  • Clean & Clear Oil Absorbing Sheets

they absorb 10 times better than rice paper, a MUST HAVE if you have oily skin. Doesn't remove your makeup at all.

    Smashbox O-Plump

    FAB-TAB-U-LOS!!!!

I've tried just about every plumper out there. This is my number one pick for the following reasons: 1. It doesn't burn the living cr@p out of my lips. 2. The gloss isn't extreme or sticky (it has a perfect shine, doesn't look like i've been sucking on a tube of oil) 3. It goes on clear and makes my lips a perfect shade of pink. 4. Unlike a lot of other plumpers, it doesn't dry out my lips. As far as the plumping goes, it makes my lips noticeably fuller but not like a bad lip injection lol.

    Benefit Lipscription

    must do before a date!

The scrub makes my lips kissably soft, the scentless, flavorless balm is silky, not sticky. the scrubbing also plumps my lips a bit, they look line-less and full.

  • Gillette Venus Quench Razor

    Gillette Venus Quench Razor

    No need for shave cream!

I go back and forth from cheapie razors to Venus, sometimes i just can't bare to spend so much on a razor (usually during the winter when i'm less likely to shave anyway lol) But since it's summer, i thought i'd try this new addition to the Venus family. I was stoked that i wouldn't need a shave cream, and while the texture of the gel moisture strips is kinda funky, it does work to give great slip and washes away clean with no dry skin. I agree with another reviewer that it doesn't seem like it gives as close a shave as the embrace razors. But my skin hasn't had a reaction to it, and i like that it's a two in one product so i'll probably buy more razor heads when the two that came with the handle run out.

  • Goody Simple Styles Spin Pin

This is my favorite hair styling tool next to the no slip grip hair claw. Makes a casual bun, or a slightly messy bun and keeps it's hold excellently. It never gets tangled which at first glance i totally thought it would. They just slide right in or out, no snagging or knots. I carry a pair in my purse at all times in case i need a quick updo,. It's also a hair saver if you have long hair; twist your hair up at night to keep it from getting dried out and kinked on your pillows while you sleep. And yet another bonus, you wake up with gorgeous waves.

    SkinCeuticals Retinol 0.5

    Love retinol, hate this formula.

This was my first venture into retinol. I loved how it cleared my skin at first, but sadly about a week into my first bottle I started getting deep, painful zits, which i don't normally get. A closer look at the ingredients would show soybean oil as the likely culprit. The underskin-demons subsided after i stopped using this and I had to find another brand that offered a retinol cream/lotion without any pore clogging ingredients.

  • MD Formulations Moisture Defense Antioxidant Spray

I'm super stoked this hasn't broken me out. While my skin is super oily, it tends to be tight right after cleansing and during the winter. This gives INSTANT relief to dry skin. I love that i don't have to touch my face and that i don't need to apply a lotion. It has a slight soapy smell that fades really quickly. The bottle is HUGE and lasts forever. I'm really shocked this is made by bareminerals, the majority of their skincare sucks. i chose this particular moisturizing spray for it's skin benefits and lack of poreclogging ingredients. It does suck that it contains parabens though :/

  • Astara Blue Flame Purifying Toning Mist

Astara Blue Flame Purifying Toning Mist

    If you can afford it....

I adore this stuff! But it's so freakin expensive. I use it after i cleanse, after using pore strips to close my pores, and throughout the day after blotting to fight oil and breakouts. It's been a life saver this summer so far. I usually breakout way more from the heat and sweating. But i poured this toner into a smaller spray bottle i tote around wth me and mist my face throughtout the day. I like that Astara cold processes they're ingredients (think of what happens to vegetables when you overcook them!) It has an earthy scent that fades quickly. It hasn't dried out or irritated my skin. I just love i can spritz my skin and gently disinfect it anytime (like after talking on the phone or working out). One bottle lasts me about a month, but i use it A LOT. I took one star off for the price.

  • Softlips Lip Protectant/Sunscreen SPF 20

ok i know some of you are reading the subject line going "Why would this cause breakouts? It doens't go on your face!" But it's true, everytime i wear this stuff i get zits around my lips (super gross) If you react to chemical sunscreens stay away. It also contains Myristyl Lactate, Myristyl Laurate, and Myristyl Myristate which are all pore cloggers. The smells is good but it's super thin and wears away quickly. I want a lip sunscreen i can apply and not worry about for the rest of my beach day.
