  • Revlon Easy Smooth Callus Shaver with Catcher

This shaver removes thin layers of dead skin, and it works for my feet and my husband's feet, which have much tougher or thicker calluses. BUT the procedure is quite tricky. I have to be careful, run over the skin surface slowly, and use light pressure. Even then, the blade keeps coming off, and I have to adjust it back on often. Also, the design is difficult for certain areas on my foot (e.g. heels). My another complaint is that while the set comes with 5 replacement blades, but once these 5 blades are gone, it seems to be that I have to buy the whole package again because I can't find just blades. I feel very wasteful.

  • Organix Nourishing Coconut Milk Conditioner

After using the matching shampoo, I expected this conditioner to restore moisture and to leave my hair soft, shiny and manageable. That's what I expect from "coconut milk" conditioner. But unfortunately, it gave my hair mediocre results. In fact, the conditioner did not do much to my damaged/dry hair, just a bit softer and smelled nicer. That was all. Having said that, I think the shampoo was the main culprit, which made my hair really dry, stripping all the natural oil from my hair. I sometimes wash my hair once in two days, but this shampoo and conditioner made me want to wash everyday due to the lifeless hair.

  • Organix Nourishing Coconut Milk Shampoo
    3.0

    Organix Nourishing Coconut Milk Shampoo

Don't let the fragrance fool you

I love coconut scent, and that was why I picked this one up at a grocery store. Wow, this shampoo and the matching conditioner smelled overwhelmingly strong. Actually, too much fragrance. On the other hand, the performance was weak. The shampoo cleansed my hair good, but I felt that it stripped the moisture out of my coarse hair and scalp, and the conditioner was not nourishing enough to restore the moisture back. It was okay for a few hours, but the next morning I remember I wanted to wash my hair again because I hated how my hair felt - dry, and the scalp was a bit itchy already. I enjoy experimenting with different shampoos, but this was quite a disappointment.

  • Aveeno Positively Smooth Shave Gel
    8.0

    Aveeno Positively Smooth Shave Gel

Better fragrance than Aveeno Therapeutic Shave Gel

I could not find Aveeno Therapeutic Shave Gel, but this Positively Smooth was available. Since the Therapeutic one was good, I was a bit skeptical. Nevertheless, my experience with this version is so far similar to their Therapeutic Shave Gel. It lathers very well, and my skin feels smooth, not dry afterward. Oh, actually, I like the fragrance of this shave gel much better. But there is one thing that I am not very convinced. The product promises that it helps you shave less often. However, I don't think this shave gel actually slows down the hair growth. I still see stubble a few days later. Otherwise, I am quite happy with this new purchase.

  • La Prairie Cellular Nurturing Cream
    9.0

    La Prairie Cellular Nurturing Cream

Love Cellular Nurturing Cream & Complex

This cream is a part of the set I received as a gift. My aunt gave me the set, which also includes Cellular Nurturing Complex, because my cheeks look reddish especially going into the dry winter months. The cream is rich, but not at all greasy. Since the complex is like concentrated serum + spot treatment, I use it on sun damage and age spots, and this cream is good all over my face. I have no problem saying that it is healing and calming. No breakout. My cheeks seem to have even tone look, and the spots look a little less obvious. I love both of them. I just wish La Prairie skin care products were more affordable. I don't think I can afford this system after I finish this one (the set is like more than $200...I think). But if you suffer from rosacea and can afford these, please try this combination!

  • Sephora Mesh Sponge
    7.0

    Sephora Mesh Sponge

    Could be bigger

I usually buy mesh sponges at a dollar store or Wal-mart, My mom got this puff free a while ago when she purchased a shower gel at Sephora. She said this looked too small, and she gave it to me. It was softer and definitely smaller than my regular ones, but it had more layers so it lathered well. It seemed to dry faster so it was perfect for my gym locker. It also lasted longer than my dollar store sponge, which usually fall apart after a few weeks.

  • OPI Avoplex Cuticle Oil
    7.0

    OPI Avoplex Cuticle Oil

Avocado oil, sunflower oil, sesame oil, oh my.

Initially I received this as a gift with purchase. When my polish remover was too strong or drying, this gel-like oil moisturized my finger nails. The pocket-sized tube was very convenient, and it came with the tiny brush. Although there were many different oils in this small item, it was not too oily/greasy. But I feel that it did not do anything special (e.g. thicker nails or nails growing faster) to my cuticles, other than moisturizing. I agree that this is pricey for something 0. 25 fl oz, but at least it was free for me and my tube lasted for 4 months (all I needed was a dab). Sally Hansen's Cuticle Oil or Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Creme are more affordable and give similar results, but unfortunately they are not as convenient as this one.

  • Shiseido The Makeup Hydro-Powder Eye Shadow

Over the years I have tried a few different Shiseido eye shadows. One of my all time favorite colors is Hydro Powder in "Bare Pink", which is more coppery peach color than pink. The Hydro-Powder shadows are silky smooth, and this one is just the right color to compliment my brown eyes. This shadow is a bit more expensive, but at least the color stays and does not crease throughout the day. For bold looks, I use MAC, but for softer and pastel look, I love Shiseido & Clinique eye shadows. BTW, my other shadows are usually a rectangle or square shape including an applicator or a brush, and sometimes even a mirror. But as you can see on the image, this one is a round shape. Although a sponge tip applicator included, I have lost the applicator a few times since it came separately.

  • Clearasil StayClear Daily Facial Scrub
    9.0

    Clearasil StayClear Daily Facial Scrub

Surprisingly mild & gentle....maybe only for my skin....

Wow, I am surprised to see a few negative reviews here. I think this scrub is great. I had been believing that Clearasil was too harsh/strong and the product is intended more for teenagers. But these exfoliating scrub beads are very micro. I mean, these beads/grains are really small, and yes, smaller than St. Ives apricot scrub, Neutrogena pink grapefruit scrub or Clean & Clear morning burst scrub! It is Gentle and mild that I really can wash with them daily. The beads gradually melt away while I massage my face. Since this is scrub not facial wash, it does not lather at all, but my skin still feel clean after washing with this. But it may be too mild for some severe acne, but this is good enough for me to use after workout.

  • Revlon ColorStay Liquid Liner

This was my first liquid eyeliner. It was affordable enough to let me practice. It did more than a bold eye look. When I apply this liner to the top of my upper eyelashes, I also feel that my lashes look thicker and a little more dense. It is still a bit difficult to make a steady line above my lower lashes, but that is probablly because I am not used to the liquid liner yet. For now I may use this only for the upper lashes. Unfortunately, this liner is not at all waterproof. A few of tear/rain drops can result in smear, but as long as you don't touch/rub your eyes, it should be okay.
