I am a "late bloomer" when it comes to using beauty products and creating "looks"... Being a tomboy when young didn't help much to get into "girly" things: pink was a big no-no but I was all over black and grey. I also did a lot of sports and was considered to be a nerd (yeah...shrug!). For beauty I used pretty plain products and didn't spend a lot of time in front of the mirror trying to figure out a variety of "fitting" hairstyles or re-creating "the latest look". Needless to say: anything "beauty" was the last thing on my list.

Now, in my early 40s, I am not much different when it comes to sport and nerdy-ness but my relationship with "beauty" has completly changed. I absolutely enjoy the more feminine side of me and while I don't have to be a frontier sporting the latest trend, I do pay attention to beauty and styles that work for me.

And for that I go - more often than not - out of my way trying new things: whether it's beauty products, makeup or hairstyles. I even have fun playing with different looks alltogether.

"Late bloomer"? Yes, very much so. And I'm glad I am! :)
