  • L'Oréal Paris EverPure Sulfate-Free Color Care System Moisture Shampoo

I'm really pleased with this shampoo. My hair was pretty healthy/silky to begin with, but since I've started using EverPure, it's gotten a lot softer and easier to style. My hair feels clean and light (no icky, oily build-up of product, but also not stripped or dry). The shampoo also lathers a lot, which I like. I don't color my hair, so I can't speak to how it affects color. I personally like the juniper/rosemary smell (it doesn't really linger in my hair, but it does make the bathroom smell great!), but you might want to open the tube and sniff it first to make sure.

St. Ives Renewing Collagen Elastin Body Wash

    Excellent results for the money

This is one of the best moisturizers on the market. Although it isn't as thick as some of the more expensive ones, it does a good job of helping skin stay soft and supple. It has a slight, pleasant scent, and the price is excellent. Certainly, there are more effective moisturizers out there, but from a cost-basis perspective, it's difficult to beat St. Ives.

  • Crabtree & Evelyn Aromatherapy Distillations Relaxing - Soothing Body Lotion

This is a very thick, dense moisturizer. It is very creamy and feels wonderful. It also absorbs quickly, so you don't have to worry about being slipper, but is still rich and moisturizing. I wasn't too crazy about the lavender scent (too strong), but lotion was hydrating enough that I have continued using it anyway. It's on the expensive side, but it works well.

  • Chanel Exceptionnel De Chanel Intense Volume and Curl Mascara

This is one of the best mascaras I've tried in a long time. It has a triangular brush, which means that it applies smoothly and relatively clump-free. It also hits the triumvirate of requirements for a good mascara: adding length, lift and curl. It doesn't flake or smudge. My only quibbles are the color (how about a true black, in addition to "smoky black"), and the fact that is can sometimes be difficult to remove.

  • L'Oreal Paris Double Extend Mascara

The re-formulated Double Extend uses the "tube technology" to form little tubes around each lash (instead of pigmenting the lash the way traditional mascaras do.) There are a number of mascaras that use this technology very effectively, but this isn't one of them. While it is wonderfully flake and smudge free, it did not lengthening my lashes at all, and only made them slightly blacker. My roommate watched me apply this to one eye and said she couldn't really tell the difference between the eye with mascara and the eye without. Enough said.

  • Jemma Kidd Make Up School Define: Stay Put Eyeliner

I am in love with this stuff because it really is true to its name: it stays put and does not budge (until you want it to)! Yipee! It's kind of amazing -- an eyeliner that actually stays in place without smudging or fading for 14+ hours. The other thing I like about it is that the application is very, very smooth. It feels like Stila's Kajal when it goes on -- very creamy and easy to apply. But unlike the Kajal, it doesn't migrate to my lower lid at all. Very nice product.

  • L'Oreal Paris Vive Pro Nutri Gloss Conditioner

I thought my hair was soft when I started using this conditioner, only to have it become noticeably more so after a few days of using this. Impressive. I can't say it's made my hair any shinier, but it certainly hasn't made it any duller (which often happens with otherwise effect conditioners, I find).

  • L'Oreal Paris Vive Pro Nutri Gloss Shampoo

This is one of the better shampoos I've tried, certainly comparably to more expensive, salon brands. I'm very low-key in terms of styling my hair, so I expect a lot from my shampoo. This has kept my hair clean (without feeling stripped), soft and easy to style.

  • Dove Extra Hold Non-Aerosol Hairspray with Natural Movement

If you're looking for a really strong, heavy-duty hair spray, you will probably find this one a bit weak. I wouldn't use it if I were going for a really sleek look, or a serious up-do. But for daily use I love this hairspray because it keeps fly-away and baby hairs in place without my making my hair look or feel stiff and crinkly. It's not sticky and it does't have that odd, hairspray-y scent. Definitely lives up to its name!

  • Sally Hershberger Supreme Head Conditioner for Normal to Thin Hair

Sally Hershberger Supreme Head Conditioner for Normal to Thin Hair

Great results for this medium price-point

I found that my hair responded really well to this line. My hair got glossier and easier to style. My hair feels clean but not dry. The baobab tree extract makes the conditioner smell great (a very clean smell) without being overpowering. Regarding the packaging: I do like that the bottles are hard plastic (#1), which means they are recyclable pretty much anywhere. However, the opaque plastic means that it is difficult to tell how much product is left in the bottle. The shampoo and conditioner bottles look exactly the same and can be easily confused. Over all, I was very pleased with the conditioner, especially at this price point (i.e. expensive for a drugstore brand). I hope the line will be sold at places besides Walgreen's soon!
