  • Cover FX Conceal FX Camouflage Concealer

This concealer comes in six, highly blendable shades. Right out of the tube, I thought the shade I picked (Light) was going to be totally wrong for me. It looked too dark and kind of orangey? But as I applied it and blended it into my skin, it miraculously dissolved and erased any blemishes and redness. Really cool! And best of all the texture is moisturizing, so it did not emphasis fine lines or leave my skin looking flaky like some concealers. It contains a built-in primer, is lightweight, and has a smooth, velvety finish. It really stays put and provides opaque, long-lasting coverage. It has the tendency to separate a bit in the tube, though, and become slightly oily, so you have to remove a little of the separated product if you have not used it in a while. Shaking it up a little bit before use might help.

  • Yves Saint Laurent Beauty Parisienne Eau de Parfum Spray

YSL's new perfume, Parisienne seems to be a fragrance created for an old woman. The minute I smelled it, I thought: old lady perfume. I do love the Kate Moss ad campaign, but I seriously can't imagine Kate wearing this scent. Maybe Kate's grandma, but not Kate. I found Parisienne's top notes to be an intense, heavy blend of cranberry and blackberry. The middle notes are floral Damas rose. I found this combo too candy sweet for my taste, even with the heavy base note of sandalwood and patchouli. I actually like woodsy scents, but this mixture was unappealing, and the initial scent was so over the top sweet that I would not pick this fragrance for day or night. I am going to have to nix this scent.

  • L'Oreal Paris Telescopic Explosion Carbon Black Mascara

I have recently complained about mascara brushes becoming too big, but this one is so small! The wand is super thin and bendy and ends with a little spiky globe brush. This thing is tiny. I have heard that this mascara is a drugstore version of PhenomenEyes Mascara from Givenchy. The spherical brush is suppose to reach lashes at the root and provide coverage to the entire lash from every angle. I found it very difficult to apply because the mascara is so wet and clumpy. It caused my lashes to stick together, and I had to comb them through, which was time consuming. They still turned out spidery and messy looking. The mascara worked a little better on my lower lashes, but overall I would still definitely not repurchase. Also, it seems like L'Oreal repackages their mascaras in new tubes with new wands, but uses the same mascara formulation. I always have the same problems with their mascaras regardless of the version I am trying out. They always weigh down my lashes, drops any curl I put in with an eyelash curler, are sticky and clump my lashes, and even if I get the blackest black shade, they come out a grey color.

L'Oreal Paris Sublime Bronze Luminous Bronzer

Great bronzer, but I wish it wasn't so sprakly!

L'Oreal Sublime Bronze Luminous Bronzer Self-Tanning Lotion is a decent self-tanner. You need to make sure you rub it in thoroughly, otherwise it will dry streaky. It leaves a deep tan shade not too orangey which is great. But on the downside, it's full of shimmery sparkles. I kind of felt like a disco ball. Some people might be looking for sparkle, and if so, this is the bronzer for you. If it wasn't for the disco ball affect, I'd be a big fan of this stuff. It's a great, basic, drugstore self-tanner. It's very easy to use and effective.

    Stila Convertible Color

    Pretty pop of color

Stila's Convertible Color is a versatile product brightens up my cheeks and lips with creamy, translucent color. The shades might look a little daunting in the pan, but they are really perfect on. A little dab onto the apple of your cheeks gives you a glowy pop of color, like you just ran a marathon, played in the snow, or had the world's best make-out session. Convertible Color's compact is great too. I love products with a nice little mirror perfect for stashing in your purse. I have this in Petunia and the color is a lovely peachy pink. I've checked out the other shades, and they are pretty spectacular too. The only problem I have is that the product gets a little messy--bits of stuff stick to it. Does any one else have this problem? It is hard to keep clean. It help to apply it with a blush brush instead of with fingers and to keep your brushes extremely clean.

  • Parissa Wax Strips Assorted Size

I typically get my eyebrows threaded at Gloss in Silver Lake. (Go there. The woman who does brows is awesome!) But aside from brows, I have been waxing at home. Insane? Well, maybe in the past when at-home waxing meant cooking up a batch of hot wax in your microwave, pouring it all over yourself, while cutting up waxing strips. Sounds like something Body of Evidence-era Madonna would have been way into. Now at-home waxing is easy and simple, thanks to Parissa Natural Hair Removal System. Their products are gentle, natural, and leave your skin salon-smooth for weeks. Parissa's Wax Strips are so easy to use and perfect for beginners. The Wax Strips are pre-coated with salon wax, so there is no spreading and no mess. To use the Strips, you just warm them up in your hands, peel the strip, press on in the direction of hair growth, and quickly pull off in the opposite direction. Voila! No more hair. Parissa also includes Azulene Oil After Care in their waxing kits. This finishing oil soothes and cleans skin after hair removal, reduces redness, and prevents ingrown hair. I always get really red after waxing, but Azulene helped my skin return to normal more quickly than usual. I give this product a big A+! Love it.

    Stila Convertible Eye Color

    All-time favorite eye pencil!

Stila's Convertible Eye Color is perfect for those of us who struggle with applying precise eyeliner. (Me.) It provides stunning color and is super easy to use. The liner is on one end and it glides on smoothly without tugging at your eye. Seriously, it is the easiest to use eyeliner EVER. At the other end is a convenient smudging tool. In the middle--eyeshadow! It has all you will ever need to do your eyes. I have this in Teak and it's a nice neutral brown... but I am definitely interested in trying some of the other colors. The Teak allows me to do a subtle daytime eye using minimal amount of product, or if I apply more, I can do a dramatic night-time eye. So it's a really good starter color. Typically, I just line my upper lids, apply some eye shadow and then lightly smudge up and out with the smudging tool to achieve a slightly smokey affect. It's perfect for someone like me, because I can't be bothered with complicated, multi-step eye makeup routines. And this liner looks better when it's applied quickly and smudged. I love it when makeup is simple!

  • Philosophy The Microdelivery In-Home Vitamin C Peptide Peel

I Love Philosophy Microdelivery Peel. I have been using it for years now and iIf I try other exfoliants, I always end up coming back to the Microdelivery Peel. It's a great product that leaves my skin smooth, glowy and never breaks me out. To use, you gently massage the Resurfacing Crystals over clean, dry skin and then apply the Activating Gel. The Gel sort of foams up when you apply it, which is cool. You can let it sit for a few minutes or immediately wash it off. For sensitive skin like mine, however, it's better to wash it off fairly quickly. Sometimes I apply a mask after using the Microdelivery Peel, but sometimes not. Either way, my skin is always noticeably brighter and glowy afterward. I use it about once a week. And while $65 is pricey, it's on point with other high-end products and it is well worth it because this one actually works! Overall, it's a great product and I highly recommend it!

  • L'Oreal Paris Revitalift Deep-Set Wrinkle Repair 24HR Eye Duo

According to L'Oreal, this eye cream is Dermatologist tested for gentleness, but as I have written about before on this blog, my eyes are super sensitive to new eye creams. After using this product a few times, the skin around my eyes became red and irritated. I'm not sure which ingredient I'm allergic to, but it seems like it's something that is in a lot of eye creams. Does anyone else have this problem? I'm jealous of those of you who can just put anything on your eyes without having a problem! I also tend to break out in little tiny red bumps. Very attractive.

  • L'Oreal Paris HiP Studio Secrets Professional Kohl Eyeliner

The first time I tried out L'Oreal Kohl Eyeliner in Gold Kohl and Navy Kohl, I just lined my top lid like I would with a regular pencil liner and it was a total mess! I got fallout from the liner ALL OVER my eyes and under my eyes. When I tried to wipe it off, it smudged into a black streaky mess. I looked like a raccoon and had to use makeup remover to wipe the whole thing off. The following day, I tried again but just lined my waterliner. It worked! And lasted all day, which is rare. It seems like when I apply other liners on my waterline it only takes a few minutes before they wear off. I tried the Gold Kohl first, it is a super luxe, metallic, shimmery shade. I have brown eyes and on me, this was just a nice pop of color. Gorgeous! Navy Kohl is much more intense. It almost looks like a soft black, but has a little shimmer to it, which is really pretty. This liner would be great for night time makeup. I also lined my top lid, but this time I used an angled brush. I just dipped the brush onto the Kohl eyeliner applicator and it worked fine. My only other problem with this product is that mine came unsealed, and I've read online that they are sold unsealed. That's just gross for an eye product, in my opinion. On the positive side, it's a very good quality knockoff of Guerlain Terracotta Loose Powder Kohl, which retails for $34.00. L'Oreal HIP High Intensity Pigments Kohl Eyeliner is only $13.00!
