This collection will take care of year-round colours - deep bronze/browns for fall & winter and lovely brights for spring & summer. It's been out for a while but I will still use it this fall!

I am totally hooked on DevaCurl products! I decided to change up my usual routine of blow-drying and straightening as I was going on holiday and wanted to give my hair a break, too. I had bought a starter kit from DevaCurl and spent my week off falling in love with my natural curls again. Haven't looked back since! There are still a couple of DevaCurl products I haven't tried yet but I will, and I'm sure I'll love them too! Set It Free works best with AnGell. It's a spray but waxy on the hair, so use sparingly and scrunch, scrunch, scrunch.

Mist-er Right works best for me if I use clips to curl up the ends first, then spray and leave for 5-10 minutes. Smells fantastic, too!

I have notoriously difficult curly hair, which is also colored (most of the time). I started using Pureology when a stylist I work with - bless her - offered it as advice for my less-than-perfect hair. Because of my limited budget, I usually color with a box color (Garnier, yum), but Pureology makes my $8 color look like a million bucks. Also, because of keeping my hair curly, I only shampoo it about once/twice a week and condition/restyle in between. Pureology gives me a great fresh start every week. And it's sulfate-free, perfect for both colored and curly hair!

Pür Minerals 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral Powder Foundation with Skincare Ingredients
WAY Better than Bare Minerals!
If you have dry skin, aging skin, redness, or if you need a foundation that will STAY PUT with little effort - basically, if you are like MOST OF US and don't have perfect skin already, as that's who BM works for - then Pur Minerals is for you. It has shea butter in a form that is quite gentle, so for most of you it won't irritate or break you out, but instead will be quite moisturizing (if you have oily skin, just be sure to use a primer/mattifier and you should be good to go, too!) My only complaint is that when I drop the compact the makeup shatters into a million pieces...I have spent more money replacing them than I care to admit...so take care when traveling with this in a purse or especially in checked luggage.

As a makeup artist & consultant at a cosmetics chain, I often have to explain to women with darker skin tones ("women of colour") that the colours get harder and harder to match accurately. I don't see BE doing much to advise us or remedy that kind of problem. Also - I am RETRACTING my review that called BM foundation a reliable part of my own makeup routine - it started rubbing off on clothes and looking shiny. And I got absolutely fed up of cleaning my bathroom sink every day - more than once if I was going out at night. Use that $25 elsewhere, ladies.

Once you get the hang of it (and the pen is SO much easier than a brush), your at-home French will look very nice. I'm not a nail tech by any means but often get asked where I got my nails done when I wear this.

I'm a fan of Sally Hansen, it's a close runner-up to OPI. The Diamond Strength line is a bit weak though. It doesn't chip easily, as it claims, but the colour is thin and takes several coats to get the colour you think you've bought. Works well in a French or California manicure though.

This line is getting great reviews lately for being very effective and high-quality without the expense. I've been using this eye serum for about a month and I think it's the best (certainly a perfect substitute for $75/oz Kinerase!). I'll move on to their other regenerist products very soon.

This mascara is the clumpiest I have ever used on myself, and tends to clump if not applied carefully to clients. But it does last and if you've got a steady hand, a quality magnifiying mirror, and a good eyelash comb you'll be alright.
