  • 40 Carrots Carrot and Cucumber Eye Gel

I have never ever heard of 40 Carrots until a friend of mine asked me if I've ever come across it. She found it at a department store equivalent to Ross/Nordstrom Rack on sale for $7.99. I tried Google-ing it & what not but there isn't much word about this product or brand really. I can't really give my full & honest opinion but here's what I noticed: I used it on myself for a good two days & all I really noticed was the cooling effect it gives upon application. I don't have any bags under my eyes so I didn't see even the tiniest difference. The cooling effect in the morning makes me think/imagine that the puffy morning eyes is going down. I could be wrong because my under-eye conceal has caffeine in it. On my friend, who has been using this religiously for the past two weeks seems to have no difference in bags/puffiness (but she has none of that problem either). However, the dark circles under her eye have lessened quite a bit. I'm glad she's using what I think to be a 100% natural beauty product but I wish I knew more about it. If I can find it again at the same store, I'll try it for myself 100%.

  • BareMinerals Mineral Veil Finishing Powder Broad Spectrum SPF 25

I haven't tried any other mineral veils other than BE's & this is perfect. I use it to set my liquid foundation & create a softer finish. I don't need to blot as much as I used to when I use BE's Mineral Veil. I don't use a lot of it so one jar can last me right up until it expires but I also don't wear foundation daily. I received my BE Mineral Veil for free but I would definitely purchase it myself when I run out again. The product itself is so finely milled that I'm scared it might disappear into thin air! You can't really go wrong with this product, it's talc-free!

  • BareMinerals Original Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 15

My sister had ordered a starters kit for herself but was sent an extra one so I got the extra. Unfortunately, the skin shade was a bit too dark for me (medium/tan) & I couldn't really use it for the whole face. I ended up using as a bronzer & liked it. I think if I had the right skin tone/shade, I would be set. With the right brush, I had a weightless & natural coverage. When I first used it for the whole face, it was too powdery. I bought a buffing brush & that helped a lot. Even after buffing it out, I couldn't top it off with the BE Mineral Veil though. Then again, I don't really need to. For those who see the words "overrated" in reviews, think about your skin type/problems compared the the reviewers. I have a semi-oily t-zone, uncomplicated pimples situated on my forehead, semi-dry cheeks. As the day goes, my skin will get more and more oily because I'm a "face-toucher". BE's Mineral Foundation didn't cause any flare ups on my face and neither did it worsen what was already there. The BE's Mineral Foundation did not accentuate my dry cheeks but would sometimes leave a powdery finish. I figure whenever that happens, it's because of the hairs on my face & the mineral sticks to it. This worked for me but it can't work for everyone.

  • Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief

You definitely get what you pay for and more. Some of the past gel moisturizers I have used feel greasy during & after application but Clinique's does not. I feel like the gel is a little heavy looking & feeling but on my face it's light & very relieving. My skin is immediately moisturized. I prefer gel moisturizers because they can also double as make-up primers too. My make-up goes over this moisturizer wonderfully 100%.

  • Clean & Clear Invisible Blemish Treatment

I bought this on a whim because I couldn't find Clean & Clear's Persa-Gel 5. Persa-Gel 5 works really well for me but the Invisible Blemish Treatment doesn't work at all. I tried using it religiously on my uncomplicated pimples/acne spots & there was no change whatsoever. I find it left a little shine after where I applied it before so it's not all that "invisible".

  • Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream

I have only ever tried four different cuticle creams/treatments & this one wasn't anything special. I liked how my hands smelled like lemon scented dish soap after applying. The creme softened my cuticles a bit but only for a few HOURS. I think the little pot is unhygenic too.

  • Clean & Clear Daily Pore Dual Action Cleansing Pads

I used these over a year ago & I can't find them anymore. They were so easy & nice to use! I liked how one side of the cleansing pad had a soft scrubber & the other side was a soft cotton. I couldn't use this everyday (during winter) because it dried out my sensitive skin but... I took a pack of these for a two week trip to Hawaii & they were perfect! I used them in the morning & night & my skin was fine. The best part was that I could dispose of them & not have to worry about spilling in my luggage to Hawaii & from home. It was a major space saver in my cosmetic bag too. They're cheap, easy to use, and travel smart. I would buy it again if I could.

  • E.L.F. Mechanical Eyelash Curler

I only recently got the Shu Uemura eyelash curler so I couldn't compare before but ELF wins hands down. I believe that you SHOULD switch the eyelash curler pads every 6 months & I can't find easy access to refill pads for Shu Uemura... For $1, you get an eyelash curler that pinches ONLY WHEN YOU TRY (LOL!), amazing curl on EVERY lash, & nearly $17 in savings when you skip out on Shu Uemura! Even if ELF itself doesn't sell refill pads, I'm only losing $1 a year! When you purchase the ELF Eyelash Curler, you get one refill.. so that's two pads that lasts 12 months. The Shu Uemura eyelash curler costs about $18USD & $22CAD... I can get $22 ELF eyelash curlers that would last me 22 years than have one Shu Uemura last me only 1 year. That makes a lot of money saving sense to me!

  • E.L.F. Studio Eye Primer & Liner Sealer

I would give this 10 stars but since I'm not a fan of the stick primer - only 9 stars! I prefer my eye primers in a liquid/whipped form & ELF's eye primer is too hard & dry. My eyeshadow doesn't blend as easily with this primer under it. The "Liner Sealer" is what really pulled me in. I have never tried a liner sealer before this & I am so amazed! It really does make great eyeshadow into even greater eyeliner! You have to clean the felt tip after every use but becareful not to bend or wear the tip as it will lose it's shape & precision. For $3, it's hardly expensive even if I'm only using one side of product! It's worth a try!

  • Lancome Bi-Facil Double-Action Eye Makeup Remover

I have a travel size of this that came with a GWP. Stupid me, I accidently spilled half the bottle all over my vanity table! The oil from the make up remover cleaned my vanity table pretty well though. It came off easy too but it was such a waste of the product! This is a tad pricey but you don't need much so it could last you quite awhile! I love the smell of it especially. For a oil based eye makeup remover, it isn't overly oily. I feel as if it hydrates the area around my skin very nicely too. Of course there will be left over residue (the oil) but I leave it until I have to wash my face before bed. The packaging should be spill proof or somewhat cluts-proof. I wouldn't repurchase though... the price tag puts me off.
