These strips should be used on clean, dry skin. It also helps to lightly dust the hairs with baby powder or corn starch and to make sure you rub the strips so that they warm up before applying.. That being said I found them to be quite harsh on my skin (well at least more than a regular hot wax) and more likely to leave a red mark behind. The pluses are they are quite convenient and can be used very quickly. I usually keep some form of wax strips for times that I notice a patch of hair that may have been missed during a hot wax or if a random patch of hair grows faster than the rest. It is nice to be able to zap it within seconds without microwaving anything. These are pre-cut but if you want to do brows, you'll probably have to trim them down some more. Overall I'd recommend dealing with the mess and hassle of a hot wax over these strips.

St. Ives is one of the best bang-for-your-buck scrubs out there. The granules are made from peach pits, not bits of plastic so you can exfoliate without any eco-guilt. There are a lot of granules so everything gets some scrub action unlike some products that have only a few micro-beads or whatever and seem to leave chunks of my face flaky. The scent is so-so, but there aren't many scrubs to match how good this one is, especially at the price.

This is one of my favorite lip balms! It has a nice minty scent and tingle when you put it on. I find that it isn't usually moisturizing enough for winter use, but for the rest of the year I usually keep a tube with me. One of my favorite Burt's Bees products too!

This is my favorite hand cream. It has a nice light citrus scent and is rich and creamy. It is a bit to thick for regular use, but I love it for when I need that extra moisture. When your hands are dry it soaks in quickly so you don't have to deal with a greasy residue all day. I also love that it comes in a pot so you can easily get every last bit out. This is pricier than a lot of creams, but it is worth every cent!

I love Philosophy's 3-in-1's. The smell is delicious. I have short, oily hair and prefer using this as a shampoo (I only condition once or twice a week) or bubble bath. It doesn't dry my hair out and rinses clean. As a shower gel it is so-so. I feel like I have to use a huge amount to clean my entire body so I prefer to use dump it in my bath and soak up the fragrance.

I love this stuff when I have very dry skin. It leaves a light coating on your hands so I like using it when I'm doing housework or something that requires lots of hand washing. It is a bit too heavy for everyday use so I usually leave my pot by the kitchen sink or in my art studio which is where I most often want to reach for it.

I really love the colors that these pencils come in. They go smoothly and provide a decent amount of color saturation. However they are very soft and rub off quite easily. I wouldn't recommend them for anybody who touches their eyes often or has problem with their make-up staying. That being said, for the price, I do have a couple of these pencils and with the use of a primer only have to do a couple of touch-ups. If you are buying them for an occasional night out these will do nicely, but if you are looking for an everyday liner I would recommend investing in a more lasting pencil.

This is a great mascara for everyday. It goes on smoothly and has good coverage. It isn't made for volume or anything, so for a little more drama I use other mascaras, but I really like this stuff for when I'm going for a more natural look. It isn't waterproof, but it has good staying power.

Rosebud Perfume Co. Smith's Rosebud Salve Tin
Great balm and perfect for dry spots like heels and elbows
The main ingredient in this salve is cottonseed oil and petroleum jelly (or the petrolatum base). If you aren't a fan of petroleum jelly, you probably won't like this stuff. However if you like the moisturizing properties of petroleum jelly and wish it smelled better and rubbed in better, this stuff is great. I love using it as a light lip gloss because it isn't as sticky as gloss and keeps my lips soft. It is also nice for cracked heels, but I must admit a bit pricey to be slathering all over my dry spots. Has a light rose scent.

If you are used to brushing with conventional toothpastes, I'd recommend giving Tom's a few weeks to get used to. Tom's doesn't bring that much different from conventional toothpastes so if you don't care about natural products or taste then you'll save more money buying regular pastes. However, Iove that I can recycle the Tom's tube, the flavor is naturally refreshing (esp. cinnamint!) and it gets my teeth clean with ADA approval.
