  • Juice Organics Brightening Serum

About a year ago, I started using the Juice Organics line, including combining the Brightening Moisturizer and Brightening Serum. The serum formulation works well, and I prefer using it at night. I used to add Vitamin C-type powders to my moisturizers. The Brightening Serum does the work for me and has a nicer scent as well.

  • Juice Organics Brightening Moisturizer

In the past year, I "discovered" the Juice Organics line of products. I'll focus on the Brightening Moisturizer, but I've found all the products great so far. The brightening moisturizer smells like oranges, provides smooth, all-day moisturizing coverage, and doesn't appear to cause irritation or breakouts. (Because it has fruit juices, I thought at first the product might be irritating. Nope - works great for me.) Since I have dry skin, I'm okay with products feeling sticky for a while. However, the Brightening Moisturizer hasn't felt sticky to me and has slightly faded some brown spots over time.

    eclos Moisture Therapy Regenerative Cream

Great Scent - And Good Ingredients

The Eclos line works well with my skin. I particularly like the formulation and scent on their moisturizer. The cream goes on smoothly without being greasy, and it smells so beautiful and relaxing. If you are able to find the products on sale/at discount retailers, my recommendation is to stock up since the moisturizer can be difficult to find.

  • Aveda Clove Color Conditioner

I used Aveda's Black Malva - with no results. A couple of years later, at a stylist's recommendation, I purchased the Clove Color Conditioner. As they say, "fool me twice, shame on me." The Clove Color Conditioner doesn't do anything, although - like the Black Malva - it clearly has a lot of pigment and will stain hands/fingernails if not washed promptly. My hair has gotten lighter brown (now, it's Medium Ash Brown) and even with repeated, every wash use, I cannot honestly say I observe the slightest color difference based on this product.

  • Aveda Black Malva Color Conditioner

    Aveda Black Malva Color Conditioner

    Don't See A Difference

I go to an Aveda Lifestyle salon so I've used/purchased a lot of Aveda products. Candidly, the Black Malva has done nothing discernible to my hair. I get my hair colored and thought this would be a helpful color-extended product, especially on roots and around my sideburn area. It definitely has a lot of color and will stain your hands/fingernails if not washed promptly. For some reason, that color intensity doesn't translate at all into enhanced hair color. I also don't get a conditioning benefit from the Black Malva either. It's a great idea, but a pretty expensive product that isn't useful to me.

    Color Wow Root Cover Up

    Use this for your eyebrows

This product did not work for my hair. I tried using both ends of the brush to touch up grey at my temples, "sideburns," and part. Didn't work. The product would not sit on my hair although it did darken my skin. So, what to do with used product that was kind of pricey? The brush is just right for eyebrows, and I thought "Why not?" Well - this works great on eyebrows! It applies, thickens a bit, and stays without running or staining. To avoid the '50s Joan Crawford look, build product instead of applying a lot at once. (If the Joan Crawford is what you want, go for it!) Anyway, as a hairline cover-up, this product did not work for me. But, as an eyebrow enhancer - magic!

Guerlain Meteorites Light Revealing Pearls of Powder

Still Fabulous After All These Years

I purchased this powder several years ago - and it has lasted and lasted, putting it in my personal Value Hall of Fame. I've tried other powders with color combinations, but they don't have the same consistency (light) and coverage without being dusty, cakey, or drying. As another reviewer has noted, a great feature of this product is that it's almost impossible to overuse. Because of the "meteorites," you don't get a dump of powder and you can build rather than have to remove a lot of dust.

  • CoverGirl TruBlend FixStick Concealer

There's no way I would pay more for fancy blending products. Covergirl's "Trublend Fixstick"in "Deep" works very well for contouring under the jawline and around the nose. The stick formula works well and is readily blended with a makeup brush. (I first use a primer, then the Fixstick, then a dark foundation to blend. However, the Fixstick blends by itself as well.) Until I transitioned to the even darker ELF cream eyeliner for contouring, the Fixstick was my go-to product and I still use it regularly.

  • E.L.F. Studio High Definition Powder

This review is for the "High Definition Undereye Setting Powder." It looks like it has all the right qualities - finely milled, pinkish hue which works with my skin tone, shaker top...but it just doesn't seem to do anything. It's not bad - it's just simply meh. Doesn't do anything one way or the other.

    E.L.F. Studio Cream Eyeliner

    Good Eyeliner-GREAT shading product

Easily blendable eyeliner. But, the same qualities make it an outstanding shading product! I use the cream eyeliner to define my jaw/accentuate the positive and downplay the negative, as well as shading for my nose. It blends well, stays put, and has got to be the dollar value for blending products. A "Perfect 10" for price and versatility!
