  • Mary Kay TimeWise Repair Eye Renewal Cream

I got a full size sample and tried this product for over a month. It is very comparable to Estee Lauder's Idealist Cooling Eye Illuminator, but less expensive. It is very emollient and a quality moisturizer. I already use high qualtiy moisturizers and notice no difference in my skin. I love the cooling tip, especially to massage the sinus cavity area below my eyes. The cream is very heavy and greasy. It does not completely aborb and gunks up powder eye shadow, but works with cream eye shadows. The big turn off for me is that it inevitaby would "melt" into my eyes eventually cause stinging and tears, destroying my makeup and causing me to continue to use this only at bedtime. For this reason and the fact it does contain ingredients that can irritate the skin, I would, personally not buy this one. No cream can do anything for dark circles or firming of the skin-that is just hype. It does, however moisturize well. If you are a fan of the Lauder version, you may want to give this less expensive option a try.

  • Sonia Kashuk Retractable Tools Dual Foundation Brush

ThesE are soft quality brushes with just the right firmness. They are inexpensive. The problem is that once you lake the caps off that keep the brush clean, it is very difficult to put the cap back on the concealer brush without ruining it. It is impossible to get the powder brush side capped again because it fluffs out and you there is no way to compress it ans get it stuffed back inside the cap. I use it at home with the foundation side capped to avoid ruining the bristles. I am disappointed I cannot re-cap it and use it for travel as I intended

  • Blinc Mascara

    Blinc Mascara

    Review subject

I got this in the sample box. While I appreciate this beIng the granddaddy of tubing mascara, which I use exclusively, I prefer Estée Lauder's Double Wear Zero Smudge or even Clinique's Lash Power. It goes on and stays all dat, even with teary eyes, but gently removes with warm water--much better than waterproof. I hate the brush with this. It is too fat, with stiff bristles. It is no precise enough and tends too spatter around my eyes during appplication. It is also expensive compared to the other two, in my opinion, superior mascaras. The best thing abouy this is the mascara container comes in a cite and clever (but wasteful) tube. This one is okay and kudos to them for making this formula!

  • M.A.C. Pro Longwear Concealer

    Perfect color match!

This is a liquid concealer that comes in a little bottle with a pump. You need a very tiny bit. I apply it over a good moisturizer to make it blend in more easily and use a concealer brush. It is excellent for dark circles, scars, and pimples. It is long wearing and is non-irritating on my sensitive skin. It also does not accentuate fine lines (use over moistizer). The best thing is the color range. They have a ton of colors from porcelain to chocolate. My skin gets really peachy tan in the summer and this is the only line I could find with a perfect color match for me. All of the other brands look ashy or chalky under my eyes. The guys and gals behind are really talented when it comes to helping you find the right color or product. It is a little expensive, but you use a small amount and it is worth it if you have a hard time finding a match for your skin tone. MAC also has a recycling program and gives you a free lipstick for 6 returned containers ( and who has better lipstick?).

  • TRESemme Split Remedy Shampoo

This is a reasonably priced shampoo that effectively cleaned my fine, color treated hair without irritating my scalp. It has a pleasant, light fragrance and is reasonably priced. I found myself using more than usual because it does not lather as much as my preferred shampoo, but that is just me and it does not mean it is any less effective. I don't understand what the split remedy claimis about. You cannot repair split ends, only prevent them, and I don't know how a shampoo would be able to do that. It is orth trying. Iit is still a quality shampoo.

  • TRESemme Split Remedy Conditioner

This conditioner is supposed to remedy split ends??? Impossible. Hair is composed of dead cells. Once they are split, they cannot be repaired. I expected this conditioner to be very moisturizing or detangling to prevent split ends. I have very fine hair. This did not weigh down my hair, but it did not detangle it either. It left it a bit dry. It has a light pleasant fragrance and is not expensive, but not one I willl be putting on my shopping list.

  • MAC Cremesheen Glass

    MAC Cremesheen Glass

    Great Pigmented Color!

This is the first Cremesheen Glass I have tried. It is the limited edition 'Heavenly Creature', "Strictly Plutonic". It is described as a pinky brown. I found it to be a lip colored mauve with a warm caramel tint to it. It is surprisingly pigmented (natural lip color with a warm tone) with a shiny finish. It has good longevity for a gloss and stays in place. It is not sticky at all. It applies with a doe foot applicator and feels slick, kind of like a thin viscosity petroleum jelly on the lips. It has a light vanilla scent. It is a little pricey. It does not provide sun protection and I could do without the scent, but it does look and feel so nice on the lips!

  • Caswell-Massey Almond & Aloe Hand & Body Emulsion with Silk

First I love the fact that this company does not test on animals. Kudos! This is a thick cream that is very emollient. I really liked it on my legs, but it is a bit greasy and does not fully absorb, making my feet and hands slippery and a bit greasy feeling. It feels to heavy to use as a body cream to me. It also may not be a good choice for sensitive skin or continuous use as it contains a few irritating ingredients and a good amount of fragrance. It has a light smell similar to almond extract. It does contain ingredients that benefit the skin. It is also a bit expensive in my opinion. I massaged it into my calves and feet after giving myself a pedicure. It felt luxurious. I did not like how it felt on my arms.

  • Paula's Choice RESIST Ultimate Anti-Aging Hand Cream SPF 30

I tried a sample of this and fell in LOVE. It is fragrance free, contains effective broad spectrum sun protection, spf 30, has a higher spf rating than Cliniques and is much less expensive. It is not too thin or thick, silky, not greasy, absorbs quickly, non-greasy, moisturizing, lasts, they do not test on animals, is fragrance/color/irritant free, great for sensitive skin, contains antioxidants, and reasonably priced. I also found another use besides using it on my hands--it is GREAT for legs!!! It has sunscreen and combats that dreaded "ash leg"--you know the white powdery, dry skin on those bare legs. It is fragrance free with really no noticable smell--aybe it smells ever so slightly like a plastic beach ball. Try this one. It is really outstanding!

  • Paula's Choice Close Comfort Shave Gel

Paula's Choice Close Comfort Shave Gel

    Awesome for sensitive skin

This is definitely one product I would recommend getting a sample before purchasing because of its thin gel texture. It is different and some may not like it. The company does not do animal testing which is a huge plus. The other thing that makes it unique is that it is fragrance, color, and irritant free which is so difficult to find for those of us with sensitive skin. It is moisturizing, rinses easily, and gave my legs a really close shave compared to other brands. I have fine hair. I am not sure hoe effective it would be on beards or course hair. I really liked it a lot. It is awesome on legs and smooth skin. Be careful under arms and bikini area as it is a bit thin. It is not too pricey.
