  • Burt's Bees Lip Stash Pack

    Burt's Bees Lip Stash Pack

    Can't have enough backups

I Love the burts bees lip balm (original). I use it every night to protect my lips from drying out. The beeswax really puts a nice seal on your lips and you don't get that yucky layer of goop when you wake up in the morning like with other lip products. I love the minty smell and taste. It feels nice and cool on the lips. This pack is perfect for those who really love this balm.

  • Burt's Bees Tips n' Toes Hand & Feet Kit

For an all natural solution to a great travel kit, I always like the burt's bee's brand. Their lotions with the beeswax protects your skin even when wet. The banana lotion smells great and I am not a huge banana lover. The cuticle balm is terrific and I love the lemon scent. Used regularly it really leaves your cuticles in great condition. The pumice stone is ok for a natural way to smooth calluses, but I find that sometimes they leave lines in the skin (like scratches). The foot lotions they make are terrific, especially when paired with nice cotton socks. I also always have the regular lip balm on hand. I love the minty coolness and the beeswax formula keeps my lips from drying out as I sleep at night. Overall, I highly recommend this kit or any of their kits. The sizes are perfect for your purse of travel.

  • Mary Kay TimeWise Repair Eye Renewal Cream

I had the fortunate opportunity to try the Mary Kay TimeWise Repair Eye Cream. I have been using it since I got it and find that it is a very nice eye cream. It's got a nice thick consistency without being goopy or too thick. It smooths on nicely and you don't need a lot for both eyes. Here is what Mary Kay has to say about their product: "Smooth, wrinkle-free skin is eye-deal at any age! A lifetime of animated facial expressions, sun exposure and squinting can cause the delicate, fragile skin of the eye-area to become more susceptible to advanced signs of aging, which can contribute to a tired, older-looking appearance. Mary Kay helps combat these aging culprits with the all-new Mary Kay® TimeWise Repair™ Volu-Firm™ Eye Renewal Cream. This rich, pampering, formula is part of the all-new Mary Kay® TimeWise Repair™ Volu-Firm™ line of targeted products, containing ingredients that target sagging skin, crepiness, under-eye bags, puffiness and dark circles. In fact, after a four-week study+, a majority of women agreed that skin felt instantly refreshed, revitalized, that skin looked resilient and that the cream felt silky and simply melted into the delicate targeted eye." I have some crepiness, some dark circles, and some smile lines or "crows feet" starting. I did find that with extended use there was a little difference, but after a month or more of using it everyday, I can't say it's a "WOW" difference. The applicator tip is meant to massage the cream into your eye. I found it awkward to use unless I put the cream on first with my ring fingers. Also, after massaging one eye, the tip was too warm to feel a cooling effect on the other eye. It's a nice concept, but I find it easier not to use the application tip at all. According to the Mary Kay website the TimeWise Age Fighting Eye Cream is $26. I can't tell if that is the same product though. It is the only price I can find on any TimeWise eye cream product.

  • Tarte lifted natural eye primer with Firmitol

I used this primer as it came with a couple of different palettes from tarte. I like that it had some color to even out my eyelids. I didn't notice any long term effects (lifting or less wrinkles). It's not sticky enough to be a good primer. Shadows didn't stay as well as with some of my favorite primers. Not something I would purchase on it's own.

  • Tarte Smooth Operator Amazonian Clay Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20

I think the hardest thing to do with this product is to find your shade, especially shopping online. I used this product for some time and it gave me decent coverage. I am in my 30's so tinted moisturizers are not working as well for me as they did in my 20's. The formula of this is smooth and blends nicely. It didn't break me out until the product got old (I had it for some time, the amount of product you get is plenty for the price). I still got a bit oily in my t-zone by the end of the day. There was some transfer also. It did last pretty well, especially with powder on top. It's a very natural looking coverage. I would buy this product again.

  • Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser
    8.0

    Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser

    Doesn't bother my rosecea

Most cleansers are very irritating. This one cleans my face and doesn't dry out, irritate, or make my face red. It does not remove eye makeup very well. It does clean off other makeup though. Overall, it's a decent priced facewash that doesn't make my skin worse.

  • Physicians Formula Baked Bronzer Bronzing & Shimmery Face Powder

I have fair skin - I purchased this in the lightest color. When I got home I tested it. I layered it on my face. Again and again. Tons of layers. Not once did it look orange or gross or fake. It just looked like I had more tan skin. This product does have shimmer, so I don't recommend putting it all over your face in layer after layer. That is just a test I do. I do love the look it gives me, nice and bronze and a bit shimmery. It doesn't make a good contour because of the shimmer, but PF makes great matte bronzers for that. As always the packaging is unnecessarily bulky. The top is rounded so you can not stack products. This is overall the best drugstore bronzer I have tried. I would recommend as they do have more than one color.

  • Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Custom Bronzer, Blush & Eye Shadow

This shimmer strips product is a good multipurpose product, in theory. They have bronze, rosy, and peachy colors. They are shimmery like most everything that Physicians Formula does. I am surprised at how soft this product is NOT. Their eye shadows and powders are usually really good texture wise. I find this product to be very difficult to swatch and even my brush has a difficult time picking up the product. It does offer a nice subtle glow that isn’t too glitter disco ball like. The multi purpose use of this product is great as you can take it on a trip and have your eye shadow, blush, highlighter and bronzer in one compact. Another problem I have with the shimmer strips is that the strips are quite narrow. This makes using individual colors more difficult. I find it to be a product I don’t want to use, because it is so difficult. I would be much happier with a softer formula. I think I will save up and spend more on a higher end brand.

  • Physicians Formula Baked Collection Wet/Dry Eye Shadow

I bought one of these palettes after hearing how great they were. I had a hard time choosing which of the 3 palettes in my store I wanted to try. As a baked shadow, they of course apply best wet for real color payoff. These are a bit shimmery. I got the palette with a high light color, a brown color and a weird shimmery purple that looked terrible and that did not match the other two in the palette very well at all. Physicians Formula is a bit on the pricy side for drugstore makeup. I purchased the palette with the purple in it because I though it was the most unique out of the rather bland, basic, and extremely small selection of palettes. I should have went with a different one, or passed it up altogether. They apply ok, though they are a bit on the powdery side. Dry, they are not as pigmented as I like and as I said, the colors are not really unique. Wet application is the best, but I find that wet application is not something I can do in a hurry. I don’t use that technique unless I have time to spend on my look. The packaging is a bit awkward like most of the Physicians Formula packaging. It's a bit bulky and doesn't stack well. Most Physicians Formula products are hit or miss. I would call this one a miss. With the limited color selections, the price, and the average formula, this is not a product I would recommend. But everyone is different so try it if you like.

  • Sephora Super Shimmer Lip Gloss

The Sephora brand lip gloss is not my favorite. It's almost has a greasy feel to it like a cheap lip gloss. It does offer nice shine. The wear time is kind of ehhh. It's not sticky, but I would prefer a little stickiness over the greasy Vaseline fell it has. The colors aren't bad, but they are not really opaque. Overall not something I would buy again.
