Ultimately, it's all about how you feel, isn't it? And if a product can make you feel beautiful, then it's done its job, regardless of any promises made. You might think you want Bradley Cooper but wind up with Seth Rogen; if you're the happier for it, tear your eyes from the gums of that gift horse and don't look back. Well, I found myself in a similar situation with Buxom Lip Polish. I signed on for luscious, pillowy lips and got the equivalent of Seth Rogen. He might not be the total package but I sure feel gaw-juss in his proximity. What I mean is that Buxom may not make me appear collagen-injected but with what I got I hardly feel shortchanged. The colors are beautiful, highly pigmented but sheer and buildable. It tingles like an Altoid (tell Bradley Cooper that and you might land him after all)and moisturizes like nobody's freakin' business. I've worn it every day whether I'm crashed on the couch or dining out. And then there's the glitter...or shimmer...or the watchucallit. The shine in Buxom gloss is neither. It's beyond microscopic irridescence that transcends day to night restrictions with aplomb. So what are you looking for? To feel scrumptious because what you have has been transformed? Or to feel hothothot because it turns out you can work what you've got with the reckless confidence of the sexy hellcat you know you are? I know what my vote is.

Believe it or not, my dad recommended this to me over twenty years ago when I first started getting acne. Well, it didn't quite help, because my teenaged pimples were caused by hormones. Now at age 35 I have combination/sensitive--rather than greasy-oily--skin; I decided to return to the oldie but goodie. How long have they been making Noxema? 50 years? More? That's because it works. It's not glamorous, but there's a certain nostalgiac charm to this drugstore classic. It feels good (a tingly-warm-cool sensation), smells good (understated eucaplytus), and makes my skin squeaky clean without stripping every ounce of moisture from its surface. And can you beat this price for a cleanser that does all that? No you most certainly cannot. Noxema is like a classy woman of a certain age who knows she doesn't have to pretend to be a cougar; she just has to slap on the classic navy and take care of business.

There's lots of great mascaras out there, but I think we're all looking for that Holy Grail of beauty products. Is this it? I don't know. Is it perfect? No. Will it be my go-to mascara from now on? Most certainly. Please note that I prefer mascara after I've had it a couple of weeks; regardless of brand, price, or formula whenever I first open mascara, it's too runny, I get too much product on the brush, and it clumps for that very reason. And the brush for Revlon Grow Luscious is HUGE, so you really have to be careful when applying it. Unfortunately, I'm an eye-rubber and it SMUDGED worse than any mascara I'd ever owned before. I'm so glad I gave it another chance, because it really curls, defines, and lengthens lashes. I was admiring my lashes in the mirror one day and thought to myself, "Wow. This Revlon is great." Then: "Wait a minute. I'm not wearing mascara." I realized that the promise to grow your lashes was no lie, because my lashes do look longer and thicker, which is really saying something, as I have really long lashes anyway. It also lasted until I removed it at the end of the day, and I'm pleased to say that it didn't flake. The only complaint is the smudging issue, but I need to break that nasty eye-rubbing habit anyway. And this mascara is definitely worth it.

Don't let the name fool you; there's definately something naughty about this Miss Dior. With such a sweet title, I'd have pegged this as a sparkling floral. Uh-uh. Miss Dior Cherie reminded me of one of my other naughty favorites: Viktor and Rolf's Flowerbomb. This is an oriental all the way, girls. And for me that's a good thing. I don't necessarily want to smell like someone delivered me from 1-800-FLOWERS. The other advantage is that perfume-wearers always get more bang for their buck, as the warmer oriental notes last. No dropping another arm and leg to layer with the proverbial yadda-yadda of shower gel, lotion, powder, deodorant, etc, to make your scent last 2 more hours (or at least until you realize it's only on your clothes and you throw $20.00 of Dior/Chanel/YSL/Guerlain in your hamper each night when you get home from work.)

I bought the lipgloss in Super0rgasm, which is apparently the party-girl version of Nars' original 0rgasm lipgloss, but it's actually quite subtle. It's very sheer, very shiny pink with tiny gold flecks, but there's nothing at all "disco" about it. I'm glad I bought both the gloss and the 0rgasm blush, because together they make me my fair skin look very fresh, healthy, and youthful. It's great knowing that I can just apply these two products and walk out the door if I don't do anything else to make myself look presentable that day; at least I'll look pretty and well-rested. The gloss is sticky, but I don't mind that in a gloss. To me, that's to be expected. It makes my lips feel very smooth and moisturized. I can't wait to try the other shades my fellow reviewers have suggested.

Of all the zillions of shades Ulta sells, I am thrilled that I found their eyeshadow base. I have tons of shadows I hardly ever use because One: I have dark skin around my eyes, so shadow doesn't show up very well, and Two: I have such oily skin that I'm lucky if shadow lasts an hour. I'm just so thrilled that there's actually a point to me wearing eyeshadow on now! It didn't work so well when I just spread it on with my finger. I gave it another shot, using my best-quality shadow brush to apply a smooth and very thorough layer of product. For the last two days of 90+ weather in Chicago, through a sweaty walk, a sun-drenched trip to the farmers' market, even with my oil-slick complexion and even WITH EYE CREAM, the shadow stayed put, color-true and smooth. The other colors are really beautiful and the pearls are very nice quality--no flaky, glittery stuff like many pearl shadows. The only reason I'm not giving this a 10 is because the base is a very opaque "flesh" tone, which would make it harder for women of color to use. (I'm quite caucasian and quite fair.) I think Ulta should market their base separately from their shadows for a variety of skin tones; they'd probably make Urban Decay looks like a mom-and-pop company!

I can't fairly rate this product on its coverage or staying power because it's application is nearly impossible. Part of the convenience of having a stick shadow is not having to pack any applicators or brushes in your purse, but that's the only chance in "H-E-double-hockey-sticks" you have of getting a decent application with this one. Like someone else said, it's a big crayon. When I tried to carefully apply the darker color with the angled tip, the entire thing broke away from the base with only the tiniest amount of pressure--I hate, hate, HATE when any stick product does that!!! And if you can't apply a product without having to wrestle the color out of the cap and back into the tube, that's a sure sign that it's garbage. Sorry Covergirl, but you really dropped the ball on this one.

Considering that this is a relatively inexpensive eye cream, it's not a bad value. But if you take the money issue out of the equation altogether, it's slightly better than ok--not a miracle, just solidly but moderately effective. I think it makes the skin around my eyes look plumper and dewier, which takes care of the tiny little lines I have since I'm 35. If I had major wrinkles, I don't think it would be worth it. But I think it's a nice preventative, since I've been using it for a year and it fills in the lines . My major problem is dark circles, and while the moisture helps to minimize them, I still have to pile on the concealer. It soaks in right away, so I can reapply if I feel especially tired. And I can put it on the top lid and in the corners without worrying about being blinded.

The color is nice, but this product became practically useless after 2 days. It was so difficult to even get enough color when I first opened it! Now it's just completely dried out. I would have gotten more use out of a Crayola marker. And it didn't stay on my lips any longer than any basic lipstick.

I have lots of fine hair. Since it's really long (down to my waist right now) it tangles like crazy. And because I have an oily scalp, tt's frustrating that conditioner usually leaves my hair looking like I brushed bacon grease through it after a couple of hours. This didn't do that at all. The first thing I noticed is that my hair had lots more texture the first time I used it; the second thing is that tangling is greatly reduced. I still have to comb and brush throughly, but the tangles come out so much more easily. The scent is fresh and flowery too, but I didn't smell like I'd washed my hair with a Yankee Candle.
