Let me start off by saying that I am a nail polish SPAZ. I try to paint my nails and get it all the way up to my elbows. And I really, really try--heaven knows I try--not to smudge it, but always, always do. And then that little smudge is all I can see for days after I've worked so hard to do my nails. And I love pretty nails, but it's just too much work for me to get such unsatisfying results. Now, that said: this is probably a godsend to clumsy dorks like me. It's pretty foolproof to actually get the polish ON YOUR NAIL and not on, say, a knee, or a cat, or somehow on your high school yearbook that has been packed up in the attic since 1997. There's a trade-off, of course. This comes in only a handful of colors, is relatively expensive ($8.00) for a drugstore nail polish, and is not in the least chip-resistant. But for me, being able to paint my nails in two minutes and not be decked out in full HazMat gear. So I'll give it eight stars for not being perfect, but being life-changing enough to bother.

Like another reviewer, I bought this in "Jezebel" which is a shocking magenta with purple sparkles and it's wild-in a good way. It's nice to have an intense, playful, edgy lip color that's neither goth nor from the Justin Bieber set. And this pencil is highly, highly pigmented, although another reviewer said she got a different color that was more sheer in texture. Jezebel is most certainly NOT sheer. It's very creamy as well. I'll have to take stars off though, because like another reviewer mentioned, the softness works against it, and if you used too much pressure the lip color part over the wood would break right off. Also, I don't know what you're supposed to do once you use the bit on top. Sharpen it? With it being that soft, and it being a chubbier pencil, I can foresee difficulty there. Nice product for the price, though. I can see myself buying this again, especially in this shade.

What is this supposed to do, exactly? The BE infomericals describe this as "candlelight," which makes it sound like an illuminator. I guess I don't know what that means, because from what I can tell, this is a translucent mattifying powder. Okay, so it makes my pores disappear and absorbs shine, but I couldv'e just bought Coty translucent powder in the nice old-fashioned cardboard thing, which makes me at least feel retro. This just feels chalky. And I paid HOW MUCH for this?

I've been using this for years--YEARS. I've bought more expensive masks-haven't we all? And the universal question is this: Why pay more for something that does less? My t-zone gets oily oily oily, my pores are huge, and I wage constant war against blackheads. This mask is like a liquid sponge that sucks up the oil and crap from my pores like a hungry green alien. And call me old-fashioned, but I think the stranger you look with a mask on, the better it does it's job. How else can you tell it means business? Ask yourself this about your current skin treatment: On a scale of 1 to 10, how likely are you to answer the door while wearing it? Well, I wouldn't answer the TELEPHONE wearing this minty blue-green horror! That's how freaking fantastic it is!!! Twenty Stars!!!

I bought this as part of a gift set for Christmas; the box contained this, Happy Sensation Lotion, A Touch of Happiness body wash, and A Kiss of Milk and Honey lip balm. All this--for $9.99!!! I really liked all the products, but this cream was THE BEST. For some reason this winter has made my skin drier than it's ever been (oh, that magical age of 35, when your body turns on you!); It absorbs immediately, doesn't feel greasy at all, and my hands and arms feel like silk. It has a very subtle scent, but it's not that icky, unnatural "lotion" smell--it's more like a very soft combination of white musk and baby powder. I had one misgiving: animal testing is a deal-breaker for me, and Nivea is not on PETA's "Do Not Test" list. I contacted Beiersdorf, the longtime maker of Nivea and Eucerin products, and they verified that none of their products are tested on animals. OHTHANKYOUJESUS!!! I love this so much I have one at my desk, one in my living room, and even gave my 88-year-old grandmother a jar. This is probably the one body cream that I've actually made a must-have staple. (And try the other products I mentioned, too!)

I know some reviewers like to know a reference point to judge somebody's credibility--I know I do. When someone likes a drugstore product I often wonder: Does this person only buy makeup at drugstores? How does this product compare with say, Urban Decay, or MAC? Is this really a great overall eyeshadow or a great "drug store" eyeshadow? Let me reveal, then: I have bought and/or used Revlon Grow Luscious, Josie Maran GOGO, Sephora brand, and Cover Girl mascaras in the last month. I bought this on sale at WalMart last week and have used it every day since. I can't say that for any of the other mascaras I listed above. Revlon GL is awesome but flakes like nobody's business, Josie Maran smudges like crazy, Sephora is just bleh, and the Cover Girls I loved buy they lengthened and defined without a bit of curl. NYC is everything I love in a mascara: problem-free application, great definition and length, no clumping, no smudging, no flaking, and curls like crazy. (I don't like that creepy medieval-looking eyelash curler.) It's a skinny, curved brush, which means it doesn't give you great big fat lashes, but naturally beautiful ones. I have long dark lashes, so maybe this wouldn't be the best product if you have short sparse ones. I found I was a little relieved to have normal-looking lashes rather than big fat obviously enhanced ones. This makes me look fresh and awake. I think the fact that it's Pearlized Black rather than just flat black mascara helps as well, as I have dark shadows and anything dark under or around my eyes makes me look sick. The only reason I'm not giving this the highest rating is because it seems to be a little dried out, or else it just doesn't come out on the brush very easily. I don't know if that's the mascara or if it sat in the store for too long. If you want DiorShow or Buxom lashes for evenings, go for it. But if you want the perfect weekday/workday mascara, this is it.

I bought this set in "Lust" which is an eggplant/plum/pearl pink color set, and it's amazing. One the left side of the palette, there are matte colors of pale pink, plum, and eggplant, and on the other side are the glittery versions of the same colors. They look like they have a lot of glitter in them but trust me you won't look like a disco ball. I just can't say how beautiful this palette is and how much I love it. I haven't seen this combination of colors anywhere else and it makes my hazel eyes look shockingly green. I've tried very expensive eye shadows and as far as pigmentation, staying power, and texture these cannot be rivaled. I have very oily lids, and I applied this quite heavily today for a lot of drama, and the shadows didn't crease and hardly faded at all in the four or five hours I've been wearing them (that's a new record for me). I can't imagine how long they'll stay once I use shadow primer. I'm going to buy as many of these palettes as I can get my hands on.

I can be something of a makeup snob, but I can't argue with a drugstore compact foundation that delivers like Aquasmooth does. I have combination skin and this foundation works beautifully on both my dry and oily skin. It's a medium-coverage foundation that's easy to layer and can even be used as concealer with the right touch. A bonus is that it never looks fake on me: it just looks like smooth, even skin, and doesn't call any attention to itself whatsoever. It also lasted for most of the day, even in my oily spots; I've also had the same compact for a long time (longer than I'd like to admit, quite frankly), and there's still a ton of product left. My only complaint is that the mirror is really tiny, but I would go back and buy this foundation again in a heartbeat. In fact, I'll probably do that today!

First of all, let me get down to the basics: great conditioner, makes my fine, oily hair nice and tangle-free without being greasy, and you get a huge bottle for like five bucks. 'Nuff said there. Now, believe me when I tell you that this is a great multitasker, because it can also moonlight as...shaving cream??? Yes, indeed. I read an article years ago suggesting using conditioner when you run out of your shaving cream, and have used various conditioners ever since. They have all worked pretty much the same, and certainly gave me a closer shave and less dryness afterwards. When I use Tresemme to shave my legs, however, my skin is so silky and moisturized it's unbelievable. I bought some shave gel last month and it only reminded me of why I stopped using it in the first place: my legs get so itchy after shaving with that stuff, they wind up looking like ground beef from when I scratch them in my sleep. I went back to my old faithful Tresemme tonight and there's no itch, no burning, and my legs are as soft and smooth as can be. I suggest you try this slightly weird but pleasant surprise.

Golly gee I wish I was as happy as everyone else who has tried this product seems to be. To be perfectly fair, this does what it promises to some extent: it neutralizes the dark, purplish tint I have on my lids and helps shadow last a bit longer. But is it life-changing? Hardly. I was happy with Ulta's eye shadow base but I decided to finally break down and try this after hearing about it after all these years. Mistake! Ulta's base is only a few bucks, comes as a cream in a small compact, and works much better. Seriously, don't use the Ulta base unless you're ready and willing to commit to that eyeshadow, because once you apply it, it's not going anywhere. I found Urban Decay to be a very thin, watery formula, applied rather unevenly (that cheap wand applicator doesn't help), only makes my shadow last a bit longer, and yes, it still creased. I'm someone who would happily live on ramen noodles for pricey-but-worthy beauty products; it's such a shame that Urban Decay has made me feel so ripped off. Trust me: get the Ulta Eyeshadow Base instead and splurge on Kraft Mac N Cheese.
