The latest razor from Gilette, Venus Embrace, has a cute purple and turquoise handle with five blades surrounded by a Protective Ribbon of Moisture to deliver a whole new shaving experience. The razor feels a lot lighter than my Venus Vibrance Razor and it makes shaving such a dream! Not only does the handle allow great control but the blades sit perfectly on the surface of my skin so it glides smoothly even in those hard to reach areas. I always get such a close shave with absolutely zero cuts. Plus it comes with a pod that you can stick onto a glass surface for holding the razor and storing the blades. Talk about nice and easy! I definitely recommend this over the Vibrance!

This is the one product Kim Kardashian swears by to keep her skin looking glowy and smooth. It contains burnt brown sugar and karite butter (aka shea butter), which are commonly used in skincare products and are famous for their gentle exfoliating and moisturizing properties. The grains are also just the right size – tiny enough to do the job without being harsh to the skin. I love how it keeps my skin super smooth and moisturized. It also helps to unclog pores and is great for prepping the skin for shaving and self-tanner. And did I mention it smells great, just like butter cookies?

L'Oreal Paris Extra-Volume Hydra Collagen Plumping Mascara
Thank you L'oreal for never ceasing to give us longer, thicker lashes for very affordable prices!
Infused with collagen and Hyaluronic spheres, this is an improved version of the oh-so-famous Voluminous mascara that can easily replace your fake lashes. Just like the Voluminous, this makes my lashes instantly thicker and darker with just a coat or two. The brush is a lot bigger than the Voluminous but unlike other mascaras with big wands (Hello Cover Girl's Lash Blast or Max Factor's 2000 Calorie Extreme Lash Plumper!), it still reaches the base of my lashes and those puny bottom lashes without smearing all over the place. When worn alone, the Extra-Volume Collagen Mascara does not give a lot of length but when I combine this with L'oreal's Clean Definition Telescopic Mascara, I get va-va-voom lashes (even the ma at MAC asked if I was wearing falsies!) I also love how this does not clump as much as the Voluminous and my lashes never look stiff and brittle. It also never smears until I wash it off with warm water. Not to mention the new black-patent packaging looks super luxe and reminds me of higher end mascaras. Highly recommended!

I am always on the hunt for a good lip balm to fight my curse of chapped lips, and my latest find is good old ChapStick’s newest invention, ChapStick True Shimmer. This is the perfect example of a product with an innovative packaging that actually works. The Zip File is a dual-sided nail file housed in a cute plastic case so you can easily slide the file out to fix chips and nicks and slide back to keep the file protected and clean. Now I no longer have an excuse to chew on my chipped mani or leave it unfixed just because I don't have a file with me. Hooray!

Thanks to this and a trick I picked up from guru Victor C at the MAC Pro Sculpting The Face Master Class, I no longer have to worry about my eyebrows disappearing in the 90+°F Chicago summers! The BrowMousse is a clear gel designed to help tame those unruly eyebrows and keep your brow makeup in place. Unlike some lower end brow gels, this is super lightweight, non-stick and it never stiffens or looks gummy when it is dry. It also comes with a slightly smaller spoolie applicator that is very soft and gentle on the skin and deposits the gel evenly with great precision. All I have to do is brush this through my brows, wait a few seconds for it to dry then fill in my brows with powder and it gives excellent hold so the powder stays on all day. Oh and did I mention that it only retails $10 and is available at all drugstores nationwide? Loves!

To try out the latest metallic nail trend, I sampled #135 Iced Cappuccino, a light coppery brown that was used regularly at fashion week. While the color is pretty, it is a little too close to my NC30 Asian skin tone. I like polishes with a bit more contrast to my skin tone so I would recommend this color for someone with a lighter or darker complexion. The texture, however, is very smooth and application is streakless! All you need is 3 strokes - one down the middle and two on the sides - and the polish will settle evenly by itself. It also dries within a minute (definitely a plus for me) and wears well without chipping for over a week. I have always been an OPI and MAC kind of girl when it comes to nail polishes but I will definitely be adding some CND to my collection now!

This is the perfect example of a decent product failing because of a disastrous packaging. The gloss duo combines two yummy colors in squeezable tubes so they can be worn alone or mixed together for customizable combinations. While the idea is really clever, the delivery itself is far from user-friendly. It took me 5 minutes to figure out how to open the cap and I even had difficulty getting the glosses out from the tubes, let alone controlling the amount of product I want to use. The glosses themselves, however, are pretty nice, especially if you are into that super wet lip look. All 20 colors are very wearable and they smell GREAT, just like candy. Plus the texture is non-sticky, super light and they give a lot of shine which is perfect for the summer. It's time to revamp the packaging, L'oreal!

This is my favorite loose powder kohl liner! It comes in a little vial and there are a total of 6 rich colors available. I have Navy Kohl, which is a dark, almost-black, blue color and I love that it has just the right amount of iridescence and is not flat. The super thin applicator also makes application - both the Eastern way and Western way - super easy and I hardly get any fallout from this product. The best part is the liner wears really wear until the end of the day and never smears. Highly recommended!

It promises to repair and renew all hair types and transform it from ordinary to extraordinary. The first thing that I noticed is the strong yet absolutely divine smell. The texture is very thick and creamy, which makes the product super easy to apply without dripping everywhere. Most importantly, it delivers what it promised! My hair feels instantly smoother, shinier and I can finally run a comb through it without getting stuck (my hairdresser is going to be *so* pleased!) Plus it never weighs your hair down or leaves a greasy look like some hair masks do. My only rant is the heft price tag, which sadly for my wallet, is worth every single penny. I guess I will have to save this for once a week and emergency fixes.
