I was thrilled to have the opportunity to try this palette, thanks to Total Beauty. I am familiar with different makeup palettes, and generally use Urban Decay's Naked and Naked2 for both daily and dressup looks. The Loreal palette I received was "Nude2"-- these colors flatter tan and olive skin tones, and warmed up nicely on warmer, golden-toned skin. The colors ranged from a deep eggplant to a mid-rose, with a good mix of matte and shimmer finishes. I liked that the shimmers were softer, rather than the glittery look that finish often has. The colors all blend very nicely together, but I have to admit, the palette has very little variation, as the colors all seem to be on a single spectrum of rosy, mauve shades, which make coordinating shades easy, but contrasting and highlighting difficult. The palette's biggest downfall is definitely how monochromatic it was. The texture quality of the shadows was slightly above the normal Loreal drug store-- not quite as dusty as their normal shadows, but definitely requiring a little extra effort to get seamless blending. The brush that was provided was of little use. The amount of each color provided, though, was quite generous. The wearability was above average-- some noticeable creasing at the end of the day and some color fade, but a long-wear primer could help with that. The compact design was very sleek, and had a solid, luxurious feel to it. I got the impression that Loreal was trying to distinguish this product from its regular offerings, and in that, they succeeded. I especially liked that the compact had a clear window through which all colors were visible, as well as four different looks printed on the back. Overall, I was pleased with this palette. It is certainly not a substitute for higher-end palettes like Urban Decay, but is a good way to experiment with a similar product before spending extra money on the more expensive brand. For the number of shadows provided, the price is very reasonable, though greater color variation(while staying in the same coordinated color family) would be a great improvement. I'd have to call this a case of "you get what you pay for"-- but as long as you know what to expect, you won't be disappointed.

I was pretty nonplussed by this mascara. I love Nyx products, but this mascara was too wet and weighed my lashes down for much for them to hold a curl. It was also very sticky and made my lashes stick together. I liked the natural ingredients in the formula, but that isn't enough to outweigh the negatives.

I was very excited to get the chance to try this lotion to review for Total Beauty. When it arrived, I was impressed by the generous bottle size-- serums tend to be smaller, so to get a serum in this quantity was a great surprise. I also liked that the packaging was a standup tube that I could put on my vanity for easy access. When I first tried the lotion, I was a bit surprised by the texture. It was rather light, not as rich and heavy as I expected an "intensive" product to be. The scent was light and fresh-- a clean, after shower type of scent. I liked that it was not heavily perfumed. As I spread it on, I found that it absorbed easily, and didn't just sit on the skin. After a few minutes, the scent lightly lingered, and there was definitely a more moisturized feel to my skin. After a few hours, though, my skin felt normal-- not particularly more moisturized. I tried it again on a nightly basis for overnight moisturizing-- overall, I was not impressed when I woke up. I would have to say that this lotion is nothing special. It is nice enough, but I didn't really get the impression of the serum or any extra moisturizing. It was not much better than a regular lotion, and I would not purchase it over my regular product.

I was thrilled to receive an Exposed Skin Care kit from Total Beauty to review. Upon receipt, I appreciated the way the kit was set up-- all in one box, with neat slots for each of the 4 products-- cleanser, toner, scrub and a treatment serum. I also liked the instructions-- very clear and to the point. My favorite aspect of the instructions was that they laid out what to expect, even noting that I may experience increased irritation at first. The packages were attractive and easy to use. I liked that the kit was comprehensive for all skin needs, but only 4 items. The products themselves were nice too-- very good texture to all of them, which light, refreshing fragrances. Nothing was too perfumed, and the ingredients were recognizable, for the most part. After use, I did not experience any of irritation that the instructions had described, and I generally have very sensitive skin. I particularly liked the treatment serum-- it worked very quickly, clearing up spots in about half the time of other topical treatments, with no added redness or dryness. All in all, I would say this is a great kit-- not necessarily a miracle in a box, but certainly worth trying. I would like to know how much it retails for-- I wouldn't pay a lot for it, but it was definitely a good experience to try it.

I don't really think this is any better than a much less expensive facial soap. It leaves skin feeling stripped, though it does lather nicely. I also didn't feel like my face was clean, not matter how many times I rinsed-- it seemed to simultaneously strip skin while leaving a filmy residue behind. I didn't like it.

I picked some of this up at the discount store when my husband had a bad sunburn. I've always just used plain old aloe vera gel whenever I got a burn at the beach. Since it was at a discount shop, the price was reasonable, but I know most vaseline products are fairly pricey, when compared to similar products. My husband used it for his sunburn, but didn't say that he saw any difference between this and similar, less expensive products. He said it is was cooling, but nothing impressive. If I hadn't been able to buy this at a discount, I would not buy it again. It is no improvement over regular aloe, but comes at a premium price point.

I have been using this product for about two weeks, in conjunction alternating nightly use with the Obagi Clear cream(I also reviewed this product, and loved it). I use my Clairisonic cleansing device, which I really think helps the product soak in better to my skin. While I do not find that this product is irritating, I am still not seeing much effectiveness from it. I purchased this with the intention of clearing up some pretty severe sun damage. I have medium toned skin that tans easily, but after a summer at the beach(admittedly with weak sunscreen), I have some bad damage around my hairline. While the Obagi Clear was effective at lightening the spots, I thought the blender would reinforce it-- and I haven't seen much of an increased effect. It may be soon too to tell, but as of right now, I'd say to skip the Blender. It's still to expensive to waste money on, and I don't know how much it will really do for skin.

I love that there is finally, at long last, an eyeliner of this type available at the drug store price point. This has highly pigmented and intense color, and I love the formula. I apply it with an angled eyeliner brush and found that you can get a really beautiful line. I like this eyeliner a lot. I know its a shadow but with the right brush and the right steady hand, you can use it as an eyeliner as well, which is exactly what I did. I love that the formula is versatile enough to allow this product to be used in two different ways and still give very good result.

In general, I hate wearing foundation and avoid it except for really special occasions. I generally rely on tinted moisturizers and have tried BB creams, but have never been satisfied. I wanted something that would last longer and control shine, and keep looking fresh through the day. I liked the idea of a whipped foundation rather than the goopy liquids, so I picked this up. I was very pleased with the color match that I found. I really love the texture-- very light, not sticky at all. It really does feel whipped, and it is light as air. The coverage is quite good-- I would say it provides medium to heavier coverage, with minimal need for concealer. I like to apply it with a foundation brush, but fingers works well for blending when I am in a hurry. It keeps looking fresh throughout the day, and doesn't run. The best part about it is when I wash my face, it comes off cleanly. I love that I don't have to worry about traces of makeup left behind. I have not experienced any irritation or breaking out, and I have extremely sensitive skin. My only complaints for this foundation are quantity and price. While a little goes a long way, I think that another half ounce or so would make it a much better value. That said, I think it performs as well as foundations of a much higher price point, almost like a luxury brand. I highly recommend it and will definitely be buying it again.

I have always hated my freckles, and over the past summer, got some serious sun damage on my face. I was desperate and about to get an expensive chemical peel, when my best friend advised me to try this product first. I was skeptical that anything less than a drastic measure would help(i.e., burning off layers of my skin), but I figured I would give it a try, and hopefully skip the recovery time issue that comes with a peel. The first thing I noticed is that this cream is very smooth, and has a silky feel to it. I found that you really need to massage it into the skin in order for it to absorb, as it is fairly thick. I liked that it is mostly odorless, as well. Initially, I did experience a very small amount of redness and peeling, but it was nothing that I couldn't live with, and wasn't bad enough for me to stop using the product. I used it every night and after about 4 weeks, began to see some of the freckles across the bridge of my nose begin to fade. I was delighted! I have continued using it and the results are steadily improving. I cannot wait to see how good my skin continues to look. The best thing is that my skin has become so much more even-- the fading is uniform all over my face, and there is no bleaching of spots. The results are very gradual and subtle, so you cannot expect an overnight miracle. However, with continuous and faithful use I would definitely recommend this product, as it is much less traumatic and expensive that a chemical peel. It is a bit pricey, but well worth it in my opinion. Combined with a little patience, this product can really improve your skin.
