I got introduced to Mary Kay through a friend who had an MK party. I couldn't be happier with this product. This was the one cleanser that actually worked for me as a teen. I got compliments on my skin all the time and I had tried everything before. The sensation FEELS clean and completely clears out your pores without feeling like sandpaper. The first time I tried it, my skin felt a bit of a tingle and I felt completely refreshed when I washed it off. One of the best things about this product is that the size of a dime will cover your entire face, so you get many uses out of what you pay for. I recomend this for all skin types.

My eyelashes are already very dark, black, and thick, but after applying shadow, mascara becomes a necessity. This was a gift from a good friend and I'm quite fond of it. It separates and easily coats each lash and has a great slim and precise design. This shade, "Black/Noir", is the same as my own lashes and enhances them well. Great product.

L'Oreal Paris HiP Studio Secrets Professional Concentrated Shadow Duos
L'Oreal HiP Bright Shadow Duo - Not great
Some time ago, I saw these were on sale buy one get one free. So I bought "Roaring" - a neutral creamed coffee/deep intense indigo blue - and "Showy" - a frosty sea foam teal/dark sparkly opaque blue. My biggest issue with this is I think I'm allergic to it, which hasn't happened with any other product. (Strangely, other people have complained of a stinging sensation and in one review I read, the person's eyes puffed up from an allergic reaction.) My eyelids itch from time to time and continue to do so even after I've taken it off. The colors are a hit-or-miss. The indigo blue and sea foam teal are vibrant, but you have to apply a fair few coats to eliminate uneven lines. The other two colors are not as vibrant and hence take even more coats. These do eventually crease, but are also a bit difficult to take off. For about $7, this isn't a horrible buy, and I do like the colors, but it's not my favorite product in the least bit. The only reason it got a 3 was for the two colors I liked, but I can't seem to like anything else about this product. If you're looking for quality pigments that won't bother your eyes or budge on your lids, MAC has fantastic choices.

I got this in "Fire & Ice (720)" and at first, I wasn't sure about the wear of this, but over time, I kind of broke it in a bit and I like this a lot. It is intense bright red, but it's not like a typical red, it's different in a way I can't really point my finger on. It's more opaque than a typical lipstick and is hydrating, but not too and it becomes a bit sticky but doesn't really dry out. These are pretty long lasting as long as you don't eat much and the color can be applied as much as you want to make it even brighter. I also love the fact that you can see the lipstick itself through the tube so before you purchase it, you know exactly what it looks like. The package is also very nice and weighty and you won't lose it in your purse easily. Another plus is that you seem to get more product in this tube than you normally would with a lipstick. I could be wrong, but this looks longer and thicker than some other lipsticks I've gotten. Something that really amazes me about this lipstick is that there is NO scent whatsoever. Even when I put the stick right under my nose to smell it, there's nothing! Not even a hint of a typical lipstick smell or anything, so that should please a lot of people. I probably would purchase this again. It's not my first choice for a lipstick, but it's definitely a good one. I recommend this to anyone. I love to carry this in my purse and it's not expensive at all, especially for how much you get for your money. Definitely worth trying out.

I bought 8 of these on multiple runs to a couple stores (mostly Ulta) because they are rediculously addicting and I had to collect the whole Spring/Summer 2010 Limited Edition set. On my first haul at Ulta, I got "Shine City (010)", "Pink Whisper (130)", and "Pink Afterglow (020)". The first one I tried was "Pink Afterglow" because I wanted to see if it would be a good backup for my Mary Kay NouriShine lip gloss in "Coral Rose", (which I could then leave at home since I love it so much). When I tried it on, the sparkles in it were a bit gritty and I could definitely feel them when I rubbed my lips together for the first couple hours. However, as it dries over time, this becomes less so. The color is similar, but the gloss itself does not have the same plumping effect that the Mary Kay one does. "Pink Whisper", I was unsure of at first, but when I tried it on, it surprisingly worked perfectly with my skin tone. I have olive skin with a yellow undertone and my lips are a kind of light coral rose shade. "Pink Whisper" lightened my lips without being too frosty and made my face look sweeter, brighter, and more awake. It also made my thinner lips look fuller, which I appreciated. Great color payoff on this one, however, while it had finer shimmer, it was still a bit grainy, but MUCH less so than the "Pink Afterglow" sparkles. "Shine City" looks beautiful in the package. Though it has a hint of pink, it is a clear gloss when you put it on your lips. This one did have sparkles in it, but to my surprise it wasn't grainy at all. This one I have to say was the smoothest and I like it a lot. There's not a ton of sparkle in it, but it does add some extra shine to your lips. It kind of made my lips a bit paler, but not horribly. In my second haul from Ulta, I got "Coral Reef (170)" (my absolute favorite) and "Lilac Pastelle (200)". "Coral Reef" I thought would look great on me and I was right. The tones compliment my skin really well. I found that this one was the easiest one to put on as well out of the limited edition collection. You don't need a lipstick with it at all, it can stand on its own and look really beautiful. "Lilac Pastelle" I knew from the getgo would not look right on me alone, and I was right. I found that this particular shade shows the lines in your lips a lot and makes it look a bit garish and not flattering. However, over a nude lipstick, this looks 10 times better and creates a beautiful look that's great for the beach. I'm sure that over a lilac or pink lipstick, this would look beautiful. Also, "Lilac Pastelle" is not a dupe for MAC "Lavender Whip" lipstick, though the color is pretty much the same. One is a lipstick and the other is a gloss, so their consistency and sheen are not the same, but they are super close to each other and would work well together. The third time going to Ulta, I got "Firecracker (160)" and "Peach Petal (150)". "Firecracker does not have as much pigment as I thought it would, but it's still great for just a pinch of color and shine or with a lipstick. "Peach Petal" over a nude is gorgeous. It's the same deal as "Lilac Pastelle" only I found this one less difficult to wear since it is fleshier, but I still have problems with lines. So finally, I went to Target and found the last limited edition one in "Pink Pop (180)". This one is probably the most pigmented of the bunch. It really did leave my lips a hot baby pink. It was almost like I put a clear gloss over a pink lipstick. Over the top of one, I'm sure this would look amazing. One awesome thing about this gloss is that it lasts a really long time. I did not feel it was too sticky (though gloss that isn't sticky at all tends not to last very long, on me anyway). The color payoff varies by sheen, but they all work great over lipstick. They're very hydrating as well and left my lips feeling very smooth and void of all dryness. Also, they're practically impossible to lose in your purse! The packaging is fantastic and stays shut when you aren't using it, (it even "clicks" shut), so on the go, these are great. If you're looking for good quality but inexpensive gloss, I definitely recommend these. They're wonderful.

I have always been disenchanted with most drugstore lipsticks, but Revlon always exceeds my expectations, and this time, they've really done it. I have four of the ColorBurst lipsticks, "Coral (080)", "Soft Nude (070)", "Peach (075)", and "Sienna (055)". First, the packaging is fantastic for a drugstore lipstick. It's weighty, but not too weighty. The design looks expensive. The washers at the top are the exact color of the lipstick, so even though you can't see the lipstick in the tube like you can with other Revlon lipsticks, you can still get a feel for what it looks like. (Just be careful to notice the finish because the frosts can be hard to see in the washers.) It's not going to get easily lost in your purse, but quite frankly, the quality of these makes me want to keep them at home with the rest of my high quality lipsticks anyway. The wear of these lipsticks has been compared to MAC, and though I disagree, they are very high quality in my opinion. These are softer than MAC lipsticks. I prefer these to any other drugstore lipstick and a few department store brands as well, (such as Lancôme). The textures are smooth but not overly creamy and these will NOT dry your lips. They are very pigmented, but in a flattering way and they will not stain but they are long lasting, though for the brighter colors, I do suggest a liner in warmer climates. The lipstick itself is on the softer side. I did drop "Peach" in the store and it leans when I put it on now, but I did drop it pretty hard and from quite a height and it is still usable and is my favorite one I've gotten so far, so I'm happy. When I hold these right up to my nose, there's a hint of a scent, but I can't identify it because it's way too subtle, so no worries there. "Coral" was the first one I bought because I had been buying a ton of red lipsticks at the time, so I wanted to change it up just a bit. It's very bright and vibrant and is the perfect mix of red and orange. It's definitely an intense coral. I hate to say this because it doesn't make it sound appealing, but it's kind of a tomato soup color, but in a good way for sure. "Soft Nude" is a pale beige shade. The thing about nudes is that they all tend to have some sort of undertone of either pink, gray, or brown, but "Soft Nude" is probably the perfect nude and it's on the verge of becoming my favorite. While it is not drying, however, it can look like it is if your lips are a bit dry, so make sure your lips are moisturized before applying this one. "Peach" is the next one I picked up and it is my favorite ColorBurst lipstick. It's more of a rosy peach shade and though the washer has some shimmer and I've heard people say it has shimmer to it, on me it doesn't show up shimmery really. This is the subtlest color I've gotten from the line and looks very natural while still bringing life to my dull lips, which I like. This is probably the most everyday color I own and I will definitely get a backup. The last one I have so far is "Sienna", which is a dark brown brick color. I'll be honest in saying the only reason I got this color was because I got it in the Revlon ColorStay Ultimate Liquid Lipstick, which I didn't like but loved the color. So I figured since I love this formula, I'd get it in the ColorBurst. This one is definitely dramatic, but can be used for an everyday color in Fall. It's a good alternative to black lipstick if you like the idea of a darker color but aren't gutsy enough to wear black on your lips. This is darker in the ColorBurst than it was with the ColorStay, but I still like it and you can sheer it out if you want to. Overall, there's really nothing about this lipstick I don't like. I would not hesitate to purchase more or buy backups. The only downside is that they tend to be expensive for a drugstore brand, being between $7-9. However, they are worth every penny and often go on sale and Revlon’s come out with buy one get one free doubled packs of them, so if you happen to find a color you like enough to get backups or want to share with a friend, I definitely recommend these.

"Ruby Woo" satisfis my craving for bright red lips instantly. It's vibrant, long lasting, and super opaque. Being a Robert Smith junky, it was my first go-to, and I was elated. Photos don't do it justice. It is dryer since it is matte, but I like that because it's harder to make mistakes and it does not crack. It lasts literally all day even through singing and drinking and you don't need to reapply it a lot. I line it with either MAC's "Cherry" or "Burgundy" lipliners. "Cherry" is more of the classic perfect bright red lip (great for a sexy pin-up girl look) while "Burgundy" allows a darker, sexy twist. From the hardcore to the glamorous, "Ruby Woo" is one of the best and most versatile lipsticks I've ever had the pleasure to wear. I also got "Blankety", which is a perfect nude shade for me. I wanted something to wash the pink tint out of my lips while still making it look natural. This is a creamy lipstick and does leave lines around my lips, but I just blend it over the edges of my lips with my finger and you can't even tell I'm wearing it. I love this one as well and it works perfectly with my skin tone, which is a yellow tinted olive. I never wear a liner with this one because I just smudge the edges to make it look as natural as possible. I REALLY wanted and my mom actually found "Black Knight" from the Style Black collection (at a MAC counter, too). This was much more sheer than I'd expected for how intense it looks, but what I like about it is that you can mix it over another color, such as "Ruby Woo", and it creates a very vampy shade. I didn't think I liked it because of the sheerness at first, but after using it over other colors, I LOVE it. The newest one I've gotten was the Cyndi Lauper's Viva Glam from the From Our Lips collection. It is called "Cyndi", (or number VII), of course and it is a very sheer red color with a glossy look. I wasn't sure about it since it just made my lips look like I had just eaten some strawberries or something, but when the sales associate told me how they used it in the campaign ad for the collection, (over the "Cherry" liner), I tried it and it was perfect! This is the only way I've worn it really since I don't really wear a lot of sheer colors, but I had to get it. It's lovely and goes to a great cause. The packaging of these lipsticks is great. It's weighty and you won't find your lipstick stuck to the cap when you open it. I also love the sweet scent of these, which is a MAC signature. With these, you definitely get what you pay for, maybe even more depending on how often you plan to wear it. Ultimately, these are perfect lipsticks and each serve their own purpose. The colors I own are my favorite from them since I always try them in the store before I purchase them. I'd recommend this lipstick to anyone and there's something for everyone.

Lancome Color Design Sensational Effects Lipcolor
Lancome Color Design Sensational Effects Smooth Lipcolor - Not a huge fan, but these aren't terrible.
I'll admit, I'm never too impressed with Lancome's lipsticks. I got 3 of these in different shades from a friend: "Edgy", "Sugared Maple", and "Ooh La La!" They all fade super fast and I'm constantly having to reapply this a half hour after I put it on. "Sugared Maple" isn't a total failure. I actually like the color and it is nice to just throw on for errand running, but it still fades quickly and does so a totally different (and strangely a darker) color on my lips. "Edgy" is beautiful in the tube and I like it on my lips for the first 30 minutes, but as usual, it fades to a totally different color fast. I don't mind reapplying this one as much since it goes back to its original color when I do since it is darker, but it can be a pain since I have to primp so often. "Ooh La La!" is the one I liked the least. It does go on smoothly, but the color not only fades faster than usual, but I'm just not a huge fan of the color. I don't dislike the color, but it's nothing special really. None of these are as bad as Lancome's Color Fever Shine to me, but I still am not a huge fan. I will not purchase these and I'm glad I didn't have to, but I guess for having been free, they're nice. I wish they were much more long lasting and were more true to color on my lips as they are in the tube, but they're ok.

I've found that you have to kinda break these in so to speak in order to really know what you've bought. I got two of these in "Pumpkin Pie (630)", a gray peachy pinky nude, and "Eros (536)" an intense bright red. At first, I really wasn't too impressed with these because they occasionally used to settle into the cracks of my lips, but then I found different ways to use them and they work much better. "Pumpkin Pie" I had trouble with after a while because I thought it was going to be a really wonderful nude. However, whenever I go to use it, the lipstick glides on so much that the consistancy won't allow a decent simple nude color and it just sits on my lips. This isn't blendable at all and is also much more pink on my lips than it looks at all in the package. Ultimately, this is simply too difficult to wear and I'm not sure what I'm going to use it for anymore. "Eros", on the other hand, is very very similar to "Fire and Ice" by Revlon's Super Lustrous Lipstick, though it is a bit brighter and more orange than the Revlon and glides on without ever drying. At first, I didn't like this one so much, but after a few more tries, I've found I can use this as an on-the-go lipstick (since I don't ever carry my favorite lipsticks with me). The packaging is pretty decent. It is heavy and snaps shut and I have not had a problem with them getting ruined in my purse. The only problem is that it does not come with a plastic wrap around it in the store, so I had to open them all to make sure I had an unused one. I have the issue of these being too hydrating to the point of feeling like I have wet lips. "Eros" gives me less of a problem than "Pumpkin Pie", which wasn't the case at first, but anymore, it just seems to do better than it did before. They literally GLIDE on and they don't dry, so you kind of have to be careful. I can definitely tell at all times that I'm wearing them, which I don't really like at all. I don't know how many people can take the scent either because it smells completely identical to Swiffer Wet Jet cleaner. (That's not a complaint on my part, I actually like the smell.) I used to prefer "Pumpkin Pie" over "Eros", but after using it for a while longer, this is no longer the case. It's much more wearable, surprisingly. I probably wouldn't pay over what I did for them, which was $3.59 and I got one half off on sale. These have great color payoff and don't really fade, though "Pumpkin Pie" kind of turns to an annoying pinky color instead of a nude on me after a few minutes. As far as the feel of the product, I'm a bit on the fence. I like "Eros" and will definitely use these, but I don't think I LOVE them enough to repurchase them. I just think that for a few dollars more, you can buy a much better quality product.

First, let me say this is a close second to Mary Kay's NouriShine Lip Gloss, but I LOVE it nonetheless. I have this in "Clear (PGL02)", but I had to look it up to type this because every label has scratched off entirely from being in my purse all the time. That aside, I REALLY love this lip gloss. This is the perfect clear gloss. It is a bit thick, but it feels great on my lips and the overall wear is phenomenal. It's not horribly sticky but stays on amazingly well. (So well in fact I can kiss my boyfriend and it won't come off.) I wouldn't know about any of the pigmented ones, but this clear gloss I can either just wear on my lips to make them plump up and shine, or I can use it over a lipstick. Honestly, this might even tie with the Mary Kay for me. You definitely get more for your money with this gloss and it is easier to find. I would recommend this to anyone. It's perfect.
