I am so torn over Obsessive Compulsive Lip Tars and here's why: Lip Tars are one of a kind. The formula is a combination gloss/lipstick/stain that's cruelty free and organic. The color range is spectacular, especially because you can blend colors to make your own, unique shade. The colors are so pigmented you literally can use a dot (A DOT) of product and see noticeable color on your pout. However, I have some serious qualms about Lip Tars and the biggest is the application. Because Lip Tars are unlike anything else you've ever used on your lips they can be intimidating for a novice user. Lip Tars are unforgiving, and messy. You better apply the product exactly where you want it or you'll end up with a mess. Also, Lip Tars bleed. I have tried EVERYTHING to prevent it, including OCC's lip primer/gloss. Nothing helps so I find myself dabbing at the corners of my mouth a lot. Another thing...do not touch your lips to ANYTHING while wearing Lip Tars unless you want a big, bright smear of color announcing to the world "my lips were here". I have never worn any product that was so transferable. It's so bad that before I put on a Lip Tar I have to ask myself, am I going to kiss someone today? Eat? Drink? If the answer is yes then it's a no to Lip Tars. I guess what I'm getting at is that Lip Tars are beautiful but high maintenance. Kind of like a Beverly Hills housewife.

Why does it seem so hard to find a great bronzer without shimmer? I love the beachy look you get with most bronzers...in the summer. For the rest of the year I want a healthy glow without looking like I'm headed for a pool party. This bronzer really delivers. A little goes a long way but you don't have to overly cautious when apply because it provides such a natural look. Winner all around!

Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine Moroccan Sleek Oil Treatment has been in my arsenal for years. I have tried a lot of oils on my curly hair but I always come back to this. This oil is not super light weight but I've never noticed it weighing down my hair or making it greasy. A small amount goes a long way. I actually use the oil twice while doing my hair. Once when my hair is about 70% dry and then again (a very small amount) once my hair is completely dry. Once I smooth the oil over my dry hair I can see the frizz disappear and it stays away all day. It makes my hair smooth and soft. The only thing I don't like about this oil is the fragrance but it isn't noticeable once worn so that's not a big deal.

I have tried marker-like stains that can be a bit drying, (although I've never had too much of a problem with that) which tend to be super pigmented and overwhelm the face as well as fade during the day. This stain does need to be touched up occasionally, but it wears and applies beautifully. You have to be careful when getting the gel going or getting more into the brush, as it kind of comes in gushes. If you pay attention and use the brush to spread it out, though, it works wonders. If it gets goopy, just take some of it with your finger and blend it onto the apples of your cheeks, it's a great cheek stain! Otherwise, the cap is tight and keeps mess contained. The brush! First of all, it's a great idea. It's got the smooth application of a normal stain brush but the wide, stiff bristles for the surface area coverage of a marker's side, only much more accurate and blendable. The gel is amazing, hydrating and subtle. The tube looks much darker than it really is - I have it in Pomegranate Crush and the stain is a universally complementary berry shade. The effect is less matte lipstick and more "just polished off a berry popsicle" look - very natural and girl-next-door beautiful, with a slight gloss.

These creamy little gems perform exactly as advertised: No smearing or fading or creasing (and I have oily skin), and my lids look as fresh at 8 PM as they did at 9 AM with no touch ups. It's perfect as a base or alone with 4 shades too choose from.

Gives a soft "glow" instead of a glittery shimmer. Looks fresh- Blend with fingers, not the applicator! A little goes a long way- quick swipe under brows, outside outer area of eye . I use on very top/outer area of cheeks and carefully blended into hairline on cheekbone... use sparingly!

The shimmer in high beam is so fine, it is a true dewy, luminous glow, and far from a sparkly glitter. In any light, at any distance, it looks completely 100% natural, which is hard to say about any kind of makeup, really. If I don't do anything else, I put on foundation and a few dabs of this on my cheek bones, circling around to my brow bone, and I'm set to go. Hands down it's as essential as foundation and mascara. It makes your skin look instantly healthy and flawless. High beam looks totally natural in any light, and can be even more dramatic for a night look. It will totally transform your skin instantly, in a way that you wish your skincare products would.

I really like Too Faced's Primed & Poreless primer. I have normal skin with slightly enlarged pores around my nose. I do not need very much of this product to cover my entire face. It really does smooth out my pores, which are my biggest concern. It feels more creamy than other primers I have used, but it does not make my face oily. Also, the light tint does not change my light olive skin tone; it only evens it out. I have noticed that I use less makeup when I use this primer. In fact, I had to remove my makeup the first time I used this primer. Even though I used the same amount of bronzer and blush, they looked much stronger when I used Primed & Poreless. Also, my makeup lasts very well all day long. If I need freshening up, I only use a blotting paper, and then everything looks good. Although this primer is described to work without makeup or with foundation powders, I have had great success using it under liquid foundation. I just always make sure it has absorbed before applying the foundation. Last, the price point is lower than other primers that I have preferred in the past. I cannot think of a negative thing to say about this product.

I first read about NARS Cosmetics in an internet article - one of those "best beauty finds" stories. It mentioned the NARS Matte Lip Pencil. The recommended color was "Roman Holiday" so I ordered one from Sephora along with Cruella and Bettina. I was truly surprised! It's just a big, fat, lip crayon (NOT a liner). Very sturdy, and the color glides on and covers like lipstick, but has a velvety texture like...well, almost like ChapStik. It will last for many hours and DOES NOT "pill" like lipstick (which I have grown to hate very much). The ingredients must be gentle because my lips feel soft even after the color has worn away. The "Roman Holiday" color is a shiny, pale pink. I decided to try "Sex Machine." Nice color, but too "mauve" for me, no shine. These pencils are a MUST-HAVE for any gal's make up bag. And NARS customer service is one the best EVER to work with! Yes, they may be a little pricey, but I think it's worth it. I did read a review from someone who gave this product a low rating because they couldn't get the pencil sharpened. NARS sells a multi-product sharpener ($6) that sharpens 3 or 4 of their different pencils. The wrap of the Matte Lip Pencil is VERY thick, and must be sharpened slowly or it will be ruined. Keep this in mind when it's time to sharpen your pencil. And don't forget to remove the adapter that's stuck in the hole for the lip pencil!

EcoTools brushes are such a great deal. I have purchased brushes from Sephora that were 3 times more expensive and were not as good as EcoTools.
