I've learned to love my fair skin, but I do become annoyed with my pasty legs and arms, especially when bronzed goddesses parade past me. That's when I turn to Jergen's "Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer." It comes in two shades--"Fair to Medium" and "Medium to Tan." One of the best attributes is that coverage is completely buildable as to how much of a tan look you want to sport. This is a completely streak-free, natural- looking product. It has NO annoying odor--I promise you this! A blend of Vitamin E and antioxidants hydrate and nourish skin while you become radiant. For best results, choose the shade that best fits your need and skin tone. Cleanse skin and exfoliate to rid yourself of rough, dry patches which may interfere with color. Apply evenly over skin with circular motions, using less in dry areas. Don't neglect any area--cover arms, legs, and décolleté. Feather it over feet, ankles, knees, and hands, including between fingers. Be sure to wash the palms of your hands thoroughly after application and allow skin to dry completely before dressing. Avoid getting wet for at least three hours; that means no swimming, exercising (yeah!), or showering. It also means trying not to perspire (easier said than done, I know). Repeat this process daily for seven days. If you want more color, just continue until you have reached the shade you want or choose the darker one available. In order to maintain your new glow, maintain by applying again one to two times weekly (adjust as needed). I can now wear shorts and tank tops proudly again, not being mistaken for the color white I may sport! Don't forget--this product can be used by men and women. Give your boyfriend or husband a "massage" with this moisturizer, following the aforementioned instructions. After the seventh day, he will be in LOVE--and looking better than ever!

I used Proactiv in previous years, and their three-step system combated my cyclical and occasional acne like a miracle. My biggest fear was that it would be too harsh, but with the money-back guarantee I had when I purchased it, I was confident I could return it if it didn't work. There was NO returning--I fell in love with these complementary products! I remember purchasing a set for a friend who was upset over her combination skin and continual break-outs. She couldn't have been more pleased by the time she finished the first kit, and she continued to order them. I saw what a true transformation this three-step system can create when my nephews--all fair-skinned--developed severe cases of acne in high school. They had had perfect, baby-like skin and then were suddenly besieged with blemishes! Nothing helped them and they were understandably self-conscious and actually didn't want to be seen (they were not shy). My sister bought this particular kit for each of them and made sure they used it religiously (regularity in use seems to be the key here). Within just a short time, their complexions went from red, blemished-filled, and blotchy to clear, smooth, and fair again! The products work for even those with sensitive skin, as they contain a relatively low concentration of Benzoyl Peroxide (2.5%). The best part? They did not suffer from raw, scaling, peeling complexions as Proactiv worked. The whole idea behind Proactiv is to address acne as a whole, not just on particular annoying spots. Their faces were flawless and smooth, and so were their shoulders and backs. Just a word of warning here: Benzoyl Peroxide can possibly bleach colored clothing, so wear something underneath to prevent this from happening, especially if you are using on your shoulders and/or back. Put a plain white pillowcase over any colored one. With Proactiv on the market, acne is becoming a thing of the past--finally! HURRAY!

Clinique's "Turnaround Overnight Radiance Moisturizer" works perfectly for me. It softens, hydrates, and does leave my skin with a new glow. I like it because it is non-greasy for my combination skin. Clinique claims that the "Turnaround" series replaces old cells with new ones, thus giving skin a new life, look, and luminosity. It encourages cells to accept other treatments more readily and benefit from them. The consistency is great for an overnight cream, but I would have a hard time wearing it under makeup. I find it non-greasy and non-irritating, but a look at some of the ingredients is eye-opening: Cucumber provides moisture and is an anti-inflammatory; rosemary, an astringent, can be irritating to some; treharose, ethylhexylglycerin (say that three times quickly!) and lecithin are also moisturizers. Salicylic acid (basically, aspirin) works to exfoliate and whiten skin, while other emollients include petrolatum, glycerin (powerful stuff on its own!), acetyl glucosamine, tocopheryl acetate, phosopholipids, and sodium hyaluronate. My skin feels like silk with continuous use, but I can see how this could cause problems for some. You don't need much at all, so the price of $48.00 for a tub is not outrageous. All in all, I do highly recommend it but understand those who do not.

This cleans my skin deeply but does not strip away natural oils.

After the popularity of Tarte's LipSurgence, I knew many cosmetic companies would do their own "duplicates" of that sheer stain. Clinique offers a wide range of extraordinary colors, but I didn't feel the moisture I do with Tarte's product, nor did I have the same length of wear. I imagine Clinique realized that when they came out with their "Intense Moisturizing Colour Lip Balm."

I love Hourglass Cosmetics so much that I recently ordered a "Best Of" kit from Sephora. I hadn't tried their "No. 28 Primer," but their "Veil Mineral Primer Broad Spectrum SPF 15" is a dream, and so I supposed that "No. 28" would be pretty much the same. Wrong. I can't honestly recommend "No. 28" unless your complexion is more dry than the Sahara desert. It is called "28" because it contains fourteen essential oils, ten lipid-heavy plant oils (jojoba, rose hips seed, evening primrose, hazelnut nut, borage seed, kukui nut, sweet almond, green tea, oil, and cherry pit) and four vitamins. That's good news. But my getting this to behave as a facial primer rather than a major lubricant was unsuccessful. No matter how little I used on moist skin, it didn't penetrate but left me like an oil slick. It is extremely comforting in the midst of winter, but I'd like to see a woman who can carry this off under foundation without looking odd.

Tarte is one of my all-time favorite companies, and this gloss is just another reason why it rates so highly with me. Their "LipSurgence™ Lip Gloss" is a total delight, with a pout-drenching formula and a range of lovely colors. I started by purchasing "Exposed," a wear-with-all nude rose. It's extremely flattering and stays on for a reasonable length of time, giving lots of gloss to my lips. The formula contains no parabens or phthalates, but it is replete with Vitamin E, jojoba seed oil, and flower extract. These work together to smooth the look of fine lines on lips and keep them soft, shiny, and supple.

It would be impossible for me to love Dolce & Gabanna's "Light Blue" fragrance more. However, it doesn't last as long as I would like. Thus, I did splurge on this luxurious cream to extend/layer the scent while hydrating at the same time. It is moisturing and light, never greasy, and does give extra wear to the scent of "Light Blue" on me.

In truth, I wasn't expecting much when I used this mascara. It has been years since my last experience with Mary Kay mascara and I couldn't remember how well I liked it. I loved the new version I tried! My lashes, which are scant and short, were easily lengthened to their maximum--in a natural, pliable way. The formula stays soft throughout the day. There was a bit of added volume which I appreciate, but absolutely NO clumping or smudging. Moreover, this formula stays in place through long days and nights. I'm going to purchase more so that I can tuck one everywhere.

Yes--I have a Mary Kay representative again! Some of my best skin days and makeup looks have been created with products from this legendary company. I ordered more refills for my compact, and I wanted a gentle, flattering blush. I selected "Strawberry Cream" and couldn't be happier. My representative kept mentioning how she loves "Shy Blush." I gave it a try. This has just a bit of coral mixed with pink and a tender shimmer, a perfect spring color. I am so very pleased that I now want them all! Mary Kay leaves me radiant and completely natural looking. Can you see me smiling?
