I am a petsitter and photographer, avid reader and science enthusiast living in the foothills of the Shenendoah Mountains of Northern Virginia. Paradoxically, I think about things too much and yet don't think much before I open my mouth. Apparently I have no filter between my brain and my mouth but I'm not bothered by this because I'm not much for small-talk or "putting on airs".

Despite all this, I do have a vain streak that runs pretty deep and I am constantly looking for new and better ways to stave off the effects of aging and try to look my best. I learned fairly early in life that looks can go a long way toward getting where you want to go and making life generally easier. Not that I'm gorgeous; I just like to look good.
