The Chanel MA used this blush duo in Tweed Rose on me when I requested a natural daytime look. It is the proverbial "my blush but better" color and I couldn't be happier with it. The MA had to open a new blush in that color and when she showed it to me, I had serious doubts about it because it looked way too sparkly for a woman of my age. It turns out that it was just an overlay and didn't affect the actual blush color or texture. As for the blush itself, it glides on smoothly and blends well to give a very natural flush which wears well throughout the day.

Lift Lumiere delivers everything an older woman could want in a foundation. It glides on smoothly and evenly, it has buildable coverage, it doesn't settle into lines, the slight radiance makes the complexion look more smooth and even, and it lasts the day. What's not to like? The fact that it contains a bit of treatment product and SPF 15 is a nice bonus, but not the reason I love this foundation as I already use good skin care treatment products and SPF 50. I love it for the way it enhances my complexion with a natural "lit from within" look. I used to use Chanel Vitalumiere, but now that I'm in my sixties, Lift Lumiere is a much better choice.

I have dry skin and have tried numerous primers in my search for one that didn't eventually dry out my eyelids. I found that many of the eyeshadow primers out there--both cheap and expensive ones-- will do an excellent job of holding eye shadows in place, but over time, they dry out the delicate skin of the eyelids. Chanel's base, however, doesn't do that. It glides on smoothly and the slight radiance helps even out the skin tone. It provides a beautiful base which helps shadows retain there fresh applied look all day without drying. I've been using it for over three months now and my skin still looks soft and smooth.

Several reviewers said you can duplicate Chanel with drugstore brands, but that hasn't been my experience. All my drugstore searches (and I want a bargain as well as the next gal) have not turned up a single brand that compares to Chanel's refined and elegant colors, satin smooth application, and blendability. Chanel makes the other brands seem coarse and garish in comparison. Since I am an older woman, I leave the glitter and bright colors to the younger ladies. I want colors that are on point as far as trends go, but bespeak of a stunning ease and elegance. In the past, Chanel was criticized for fading, but the latest palettes wear much longer. I put the shadows on in the morning and they are still there in the evening. The bottom line: if you can't afford Chanel, there are many good drugstore brands, but if you can afford Chanel, then buy it because there is really no substitute.

Although Chanel's "Lift" line is ostensibly for mature (older) women, it fails to meet the needs. It settles in the under eye creases no matter how thinly and carefully applied. I've tried applying it with a brush, with a sponge, and with my finger tips with the same result: within minutes it settles in the fine lines under my eyes. Yes, the lift complex is nice, but you can get the same benefits in a good quality eye cream. As for the luminance, that can also be gotten via a soft focus foundation or a radiance pen such as Touche Eclat. Lift Lumiere concealer is definitely better suited to the younger woman who doesn't have as much creasing in the eye area as those of us of a certain age. Perhaps Chanel should change the name and market it to a younger demographic.

I have this wonderful, creamy eyeliner in several colors. It glides on smoothly and evenly and stays where you want it throughout the day or evening without any smudging. All the colors except Jade ( a light, aqua tinged green) give a sultry, smokey look which can be varied in intensity to create a look that is soft and suitable for day or dramatic for night. When the time comes to remove my makeup, it easily wipes off with Chanel's biphase eye makeup remover although I'm sure any good remover would work. When you consider that this automatic pencil does not have to be reapplied throughout the day nor does it dry out or get crumbly over time, it's a bargain.

I originally bought the aqua crayon in Cognac to go with my glossimer in Coral Reef. When I got it home, I found that it was neutral enough to go with just about all my warm toned lipsticks/glosses except for the more decidedly pink ones. It glides on smoothly and evenly, is not drying, and has incredible staying power. Throughout the day I only had to touch up my gloss or lipstick, but not my lip liner. Because it is so long-lasting, I lightly feather the liner onto my lips and blot my lips together to blend it in to my natural lip color. That way, when my gloss or lipstick eventually wears off, I'm not left with that dreaded line around the lips. My only complaint at this time is that it is not available in very many colors. For my rose shades, I switch to Dior's automatic lip liner in Caramel. It has all the same attributes as the Chanel aqua crayon.

I've tried numerous make-up removers of the biphase type by other major cosmetic companies and none could hold a candle to the job this one by Chanel did in removing with ease the most stubborn of eye make-up. I'm not sure why a few other reviewers mentioned an oily residue. That certainly hasn't been the case in my experience. After removing my eye make-up, the skin around my eyes feels like velvet. I've been using it now for about a month and I have noticed the delicate skin around my eyes looks smoother and more moisturized. I would never go back to the other biphase cleansers which seem harsh in comparison to this gentle one by Chanel.

This seems to be one of those products that either works well for you or is a total fail. It worked for me. Being an older woman, my lips have thinned and become dry. This lip plumper did not sting, did not cause my lips to turn red, or in any other way look or feel objectionable. The abundant HA in it diminished the lines in my lips and made them look softer and slightly fuller. Although the directions say to apply at night, I applied it in the morning, let it sink in while doing my eye make-up, and then applied a lip balm, gloss, or lipstick over it. My lips looked smooth and felt comfortable all day. Is it worth $50? I guess that depends on whether this was a hit or a miss for you.

As an older woman, my lips have started to thin and are on the dry side so I'm always on the look out for moisture rich lipsticks in beautiful colors. I recently purchased Rouge Allure in Emotion and a complimenting lipliner in Rose Honey. Both the lipstick and the lipliner glided on evenly and left my lips looking smoother, more luminous, and a bit fuller. There are other lipsticks out there that have better staying power, but that's the trade off for choosing a lipstick that leaves your lips looking lush and in better condition. As one of the other reviewers said, it's no big deal to reapply. I'll definitely be going back to try some of the other colors.
