While not the fanciest option on the block, this drugstore cheapie does a decent job. I got a compliment from a co-worker recently while wearing this, "you look good natural! I wish I had your skin!" I wanted to claim that it's my natural good genes, but I owned up to using a tinted moisturizer. The Natural shade is a good universal light shade and is what I use. The main thing you have to watch for is to look in the mirror when you apply it, unlike regular moisturizer it will look funky if not applied evenly! Don't try to put on too thick a layer, or you might as well just use standard foundation. Remember, the point of this stuff is to lightly enhance your natural beauty. If you need heavy coverage, this will not help.

I first got this through Beauty Fix, and it's easy to see why this was an official Beauty Fix pick. This lotion is so hydrating that you can feel your skin thanking you for putting it on. It's incredibly concentrated so a little goes a long way. It's quick absorbing, so your skin feels soft not greasy. It really DOES perk you up, it's great for those long days and late shifts. And the smell? Ohhhhh, the smell. I'm a ginger junkie, so if you don't the scent of ginger stay away, but if like me you find it irresistible, you will be in nirvana. This is one of the few items that I got a sample size of that I had to go out and buy the full size immediately so that I could slather it all over myself with abandon!

Made with cotton and soybean oil, this stuff is lovely for your cuticle and nail health. Massage it into your cuticle and nail beds and you'll see instant hydration. Especially helpful for keeping nails hydrated if you strip your polish off a lot. Moist nails means no peeling and longer growth! I put this on at night before bed to give the oil time to really penetrate. If you have overgrown cuticles, allow this to absorb into the cuticles then they become easy to push back. Putting oil on over your polished nails also helps your manicure last longer! This stuff is cheap, so it's an affordable indulgence. The other night I gave a bunch of the little girls (and one boy) in my neighborhood "manicures". I painted this onto their fingernails, which made them all pretty and shiny. Once Mikey saw his sister's nails, he came running up onto my porch with his hands held out, saying "Do me! Do me!" Essie has helped me to create a teeny little metrosexual :-)

I keep this set in my personal drawer at work. It's not super high end brushes, but they do the trick. If someone ransacks my stuff, I can replace it cheap, but they're good enough quality that I'm happy with the job they do. My lash/brow brush tip came off, but I was able to glue it back on easily and it's stayed put since. Compact, portable and useful, so a good bang for your buck. As far as being "professional" I might beg to differ, but at least they're soft and don't have horrific bristle shedding. And I quite like the liner brush, actually.

Nothing sets off 99 cent lipstick like 58 buck eyeshadow! Seriously though, the light shimmery hues in this really do compliment the bright red lips. I LOVELOVELOVE Dior shadows for their staying power, true colors, lack of shadow fallout, and how little you need to use. Seriously, I have Dior palettes that are like 5 years old and aren't even showing pan bottom yet. And no I'm not that gross, I do have makeup cleaner sprays that kill bacteria.

Argh, this is a mixed bag. Pros: Ophthalmologist-tested and fragrance free, so my eyes don't get irritated and watery. So creamy that it doesn't tug on my skin at all during application. So easy to smudge that you can do a smoky eye in your sleep. Cons: So easy to smudge that you can do a smoky everything else too- smoky cheeks, fingers, heck, I've found it on my nose before. So easy to smudge that I can't use it on my top lid ever, even with the best primers on the market. It IMMEDIATELY transfers all over the rest of my lid. I have to keep an eye on it all day because as it starts to creep about I can get that 'I fell asleep drunk in my makeup' look. It's a shame, cause I generally like their products, but this liner is so high maintenance!Also, it's really difficult to sharpen cause the liner tip keeps wanting to smush off as you sharpen. Eh, if someone gives you one for free don't throw it away, but I wouldn't drive to my nearest Elizabeth Arden counter this nanosecond either.

Pretty darn good finishing powder! Made with pure minerals and no talc. Glad to see Ulta hopping on the bandwagon! This powder goes on evenly and gives the skin a nice glow where you need it and shine blotting where you don't- need a glow, that is. Doesn't go on chunky or overthick. I just wish the case was made a little better, this is my second jar and the lid cracked on both of them before I finished the product.

I really like MK liners. They go on smooth and creamy and don't create such a harsh line that you have ghetto lip liner mouth. They also are non staining, so if you screw up you can wipe your line off and redo it without lip liner ghost. This also makes it easy to try a few different line styles to see what lip shape goes best with what you're going for that day.

This stuff does exactly what it says it will- it evens out your skin tone, hides imperfections and imparts a healthy glow to your skin. Uneven skin tone is a huge problem for me. I have rosacea, sensitive skin, freckles and scarring. With this my skin looks absolutely perfect but without that heavy, pore clogging mask feel of some foundations that offer a higher level of coverage. I love how it's so whisper light yet still balances out my redness and hides my scars. I put it on fairly thinly in most areas then just use a tidge more on areas that need more coverage, it's extremely buildable. It doesn't get streaky or oxidize on the skin, either! My only wish is that it addressed enlarged pores. Over time, it's supposed to actually correct your skin imperfections like a treatment! I think it's also fabulous that they have a gazillion shades available- us women come in all kinds of subtle delineations. Thanks, Clinique- for making foundation Even Better!

I would say this is sweet and addictive. I'm very picky about my florals and sweet scents, they often either make me smell like a six year old who chain smokes or an old lady with powder trapped in her wrinkles. This is a sweet floral that's sophisticated enough to make the cut. I have the eau de toilette, but when I get my next bottle I plan on trying the parfum. Why? My one complaint is that in toilette form, it doesn't last as long on me as I would like. This is one that the husband really likes, he finds it to be incredibly sexy. He said that he really likes how it smells so totally different depending on how long I've had it on, it goes from a sweet berry and flower scent to a warm vanilla musky wash. Good thing about the toilette though is that it's perfect for work. I have a boss who is extremely scent sensitive and she doesn't complain about this one a single bit.
