I've been on a 'nude' nails kick lately! Ranging from light tan like Essie's Sand Tropez to pail whites and pinks! I've been experiementing a lot with Essie colors because they have a large range of whites and pinks, but they're just so difficult to shop for since all the colors are so similar to one another in the bottle. Needless to say, I'm still searching for the perfect, go-to, clean, natural, color. I would appreciate any suggestions or recommendations, thanks in advance!!
7 RepliesWhat qualifies as a good nude may depend on one's skin tone - whether it is cool or warm - or neutral somewhere between the other two.
I am not crazy about cool pinks because my skin tone is neutral leaning toward warm.
I use two OPI for Sephora colors:
-- Nonfat Soy Half Caff, a light warm beige creme - which i find a little too brown and dark on my fair skin
and
-- Dear Diary, a pale warm pink creme - which is a little too pale pink, although being a warm pink is good.
So i blend the two colors this way:
I do my first coat with NSHC
Then my second coat with DD
This creates a nearly perfect nude for me. Since i would do two coats no matter what, it isn't any more trouble than using one color twice and it gives me a color that is good for my skin tone and doesn't look too flat.
I really like Essie Ballet Slipper (I believe that's the name), it's the perfect pale pink. Just a hint of soft color. I love nude shades too -- chips are way less noticeable and you don't have to worry about your manicure clashing with your outfit!
Thanks for the recommendation! I have that one already, but haven't used it in a while. I like the color, but I remember thinking that it difficult to get an even coat with this partiular shade.. I'll have to give it another go to see how I feel about it. Thanks again!
I love Sally Hansen's Complete Manicure polish in Nude Now. I also like Revlon polish in Créme Brûlée.
Thanks, I'll check those out the next time I head to the store!
There is a really awesome nude from eyeslipsface.com aka. E.L.F. I'm not sure what it's called but there is only one nude. Plus, it's only $1.00. However, E.L.F seems to be sold out alot which is a major downer for me.
When I saw this color from this web site..i know i'll def get one, Essie new Fall collection "Lady Like". Love this color so much!! Its Nude and clean!!!
