I am taking mom out to dinner and sending her a lovely bouquet of flowers.

For Mother's Day, I have scheduled a day at a luxurious spa-- she'll be getting a facial, a detox wrap, a mani-pedi, a hair treatment and new style, and an hour-long massage! I'm so thankful for my mother; she thinks of everyone else, so it's time for her to have a day all to herself 

I plan to cook or buy her dinner and give her a scrapbooking album from a vacation we took.

I plan to take her to the restaurant of her choice for dinner and out shopping.  Winning this gift for her would only improve the day.  She'd enjoy the fact that I actually won it for her. 

A handmade card, fresh organic flowers, & some skincare products to pamper herself.

Sadly my mother passed away when I was a teenager and my own son now has an infant son with whom I expect him to help honor and celebrate motherhood for the wonderful mother of his own child. Money is quite sparse for all of us with the current economy, loss of employment and my divorce so I do not expect anything more from my own son than a most loving and rewarding offer of his sentiment to me and to see him honor the mother of his own son with love and coompassion. Through his actions and support for his wife I will find great joy, reward and honor as his mother- not just on Mother's Day but everyday as I thank my own mother for the values and love she gave to me to pass on to my child, grandson and for generations to come! Happy Mother's Day to all!

My mom rarely lets me buy her things. So I will spoil her with the gift of time.

I usually buy my mom candles and bath products for Mother's Day. 

For my mama, being spoiled means someone else cooking for HER, rather than the usual of her slaving for everyone else. My husband and I plan to spoil both our mama's by cooking them a wonderful dinner while they just sit and enjoy each other's company. Of course, they will both receive a beautiful bouquet of flowers and should they ask for anything in particular........naturally we will move heaven and earth to make sure they have it.

My Mother is in her 80's.  She has had the kind of life books should be written about.  And through all the challenges she has faced, her greatest accomplishment is raising three girls.  I am the youngest and while the other girls were doing there own thing, Mother became my best friend.  She taught me about music, books, how to be a fine lady and grow into a confident woman, unfraid to be myself.  I grew up hoping to be just like her.  Today, I am going to drive her to her favorite place, Big Sur, California. There, I will remind her of all the marvelous lessons she taught me over the years.  I will tell her I remember every Christmas she made so special, every birthday she made me thankful to be alive and the daughter of such a remarkable woman.  We will walk the beach, holding hands, splashing in the surf and then watch the sun set against the stunning sky of purple, pink and gold until it sinks into the pacific ocean.  These simple pleasures are what she taught me.  Not spending money in a resurant or buying material objects.  But the beauty and miracle of natures gifts.  I plan on sharing these gifts with her.  My love and respect for her.  And that I carry and will continue to carry these gifts with me throughout my life.  And even in her 80's, she is still strong enough to walk the beach, climb the rocks and revel in the beauty that is her life.  And I will continue to live the lessons and love she gave to me.
