63 RepliesNew kitty is warming up to me quickly. He brushed against my leg one day (a good thing, right???), and he came close enough to play with me with a tory. Then yesterday he felt comfortable enough to get closer to me. He seemed curious, he was the one that came to me. I didn't want to try to pet him unless he was read! He looked up at me & meowed, like to say, "Hello." I stooped down to pet him at last! Has short hair & it's so soft!
He was still a little nervous around me later, but he seems to be adapting to his new environment faster than any of his previous cats.
Natalie has chased him away few times, esp. if he's in her favorite bed or near it. Otherwise, they seem to get along okay. But Natalie will always remind him of who's "boss", LOL. She's years older and a bit larger. Matronly female and a young male, LOL. Natalie struts around the apartment, like "I own this place." My friend said was shedding her long hair A LOT the first week the new cat was there, and that it is a sign of stress! Poor thing! I bet she missed her late friend too, and there's this new cat suddenly.....
Aw poor kitty! Give her time to adjust and I'm sure that she will make good friends with the new kitty! :)
Too cute! My cat Cosmo passed about a month ago. He was 15, we had spent ALOT of time together. It was hard to see him pass on(he had a bad liver). I really miss him but I wil always keep him in my life:) My cats (Buddy and Baby) love cat nip, soft toys, and anything that has a bell in it. My kitten(Tuesday) loves soft toys and yarn. My kitten is still on Purina Kitten Chow for about 2 more months, my other cats eat dry food.
too funny! i also have a painted turtle, 2 dogs, and 2 green tree frogs
I love cats, so thanks for starting this. I don't have one since I can't have pets in my building (I didn't think of this at the time; life was different then), but I do get to enjoy my friend's cats when visiting. I have posted pictures in my profile. I hadn't been to visit in awhile, so one of them was a bit mad at me last time! She actually turned her nose at me and turned away, but she forgave me after a few minutes!
I've also gotten friendly with a cat that I pass on my way to an office I visit at times. I stop to pet her every chance I get. Love how cats purr when you pet them.
I love animals in general, and growing up we always had dogs. We had mostly German Shepherds, but one time we had one that was part Collie and part German Shepherd.
Glad there's a place on the site now where I can enjoy cat photos and tales!
We have a Persian Himalayan mix. He loves to "talk" he will sit on the windowsill and chirp back at the birds.
