Sweat no more

Hello my name is RoleModel and I am a sweat-aholic. I sweat no matter what I am doing or what the weather is. Obviously I sweat much more when I am active but my personal battle with BO gets particularly rough during the hot, sticky summer. I have tried virtually every deodorant. Currently I am on a mission to find something that leaves me dry and not smelling like a teenage boy. I had somewhat short lived pleasant results with Degree clinical strength. I smelled fresh but then I feel like my body chemistry got accustomed to it and it stopped working. Secret clinical strength was more disappointing. I had high expectations after all of the wonderful things I've heard. I was damp and smelly almost immediately. I've also tried Secret outlast with mediocre results. My underarms are still damp and the BO is still there. This may also be the cause for my constant cystic acne. Maybe my hormones are out of whack. I sweat like a man and my face still erupts like a teenage boy, maybe I have too much testosterone. I shower constantly and scrub my pits with an antibacterial soap. I've tried applying deodorant night and day and I have had a short-lived love affair with Arrid XX Dry aerosal. Soft and Dri was a particularly bad letdown. It left me smelling like sweaty baby powder. I've also tried mens deodorant and nothing seems to work. It's actually kind of funny my boyfriend jokes that I sweat more than he does, even after a basketball game. My sister in law has the same issue so I know that I am not the only one. I've heard of people getting Botox injected into their pits to make them sweat less, but it's expensive and sounds painful much like the steroid injections I got when my acne really had a mind of its own. I am proud of all the things that my body does and being very active I am now learning to appreciate my ability to sweat ;)

Have you ever tried Certain Dri??? I used to sweat through my shirts every single day (gross, I know), until one day in high school my mom picked up this deodorant for me on a whim, and it is the only thing that has worked for me! I've tried other things too (Secret Clinical strength and degree clinical strength) but none of those worked barely at all. I highly recommend Certain Dri (the roll on one works far better for me than the regular swipe on kind)! And I have cystic acne (or did before I got on the current dermatologist-prescribed products I'm currently on) so I think your probably right about having hormonal issues, I've always felt that was my problem too. Anyways, hope this helps!

I don't have a problem with sweating, Linda, but this sounds wonderful; will be trying it!

Hi RoleModel! Although I live in Arizona...so I am ALWAYS hot/sweaty even though I stay inside in the A/C or briefly outside in the 115 degree weather going from the house to the car! I don't have any deodorant suggestions for you, but I DO have a suggestion to cool you off some...I purchase the body spray spritzer's from Bath and Body Works and one of the employees suggested to me that I keep one in the refrigerator so that when I spritz it on, it's nice and cool! I LOVE IT!!! Every time I open the fridge I spritz some on! It cools me off (OMG...it's SOOO CHILLY) and it smells sooo good! They have LOTS of different fragrances to choose from and almost always a sale! I know this isn't the kind of suggestion you are looking for, but I hope it helps you some! Take care! Love, Linda :D

I'm so sorry to hear this, but it is not as uncommon as you must think. It is called "hyperhidrosis." My suggestions would be to try "Certain Dri." You apply it at night, when your sweat glands are least active, so that it gives you the best protection possible the following day (I have never had odor with this). My other favorite is "Mitchum" roll-on antiperspirant. I was told over and over when I modeled years ago to use only roll-on products because they most thoroughly penetrate pores. "Certain Dri" used to be a prescription product. If these to don't work for you, I do believe there are stronger antiperspirants physicians can give you. Congrats on the hard work you do with your body; I haven't been quite as active as I'd like to be!
