My Shellac Experience
Have you ever wished that your nail polish wouldn’t chip or become dull within two days of getting a manicure??
Your wish is Shellac’s command. Shellac nail system has been around for about a year or so and I discovered it four months ago. Shellac promises 14 day flawless wear, mirror shine and zero drying time. SOLD!!!!
Shellac wears like a gel and is applied like regular polish; base coat, color, top coat then cured with a UV light. Removal is super easy you can soak your nails in acetone for 10 mins. Or you can use Shellac remover wraps, in my opinion are not that great :(
Pros:
14 day flawless wear
Mirror shine
Cons:
You may become bored with the same color for 14 plus days
Growth line
Buying the Shellac remover wraps
Conclusion:
I'm a wife and a mother of two, this is a great product for busy women who want the fresh manicure look at all times. I can clean my home and work in my garden; I can do normal everyday chores without ruining my nails. I heart Shellac nail system and I worn mine longer than 14 days. If you have had the shellac experience please let me know what you think by leaving a comment.

I did a Shellac manicure before my wedding and it was great! I loved not worrying about chipping or smudging my nails (which I always do!) and my nails looked nice on my honeymoon as well. It's a little pricey so I probably wouldn't do it all the time (I'm not someone who gets regular manicures anyway), but for special occasions I think it's fantastic. My only complaint is the limited color options, but I'm hoping they'll come out with more shades soon! If you try it, I recommend making sure you're getting a real Shellac manicure, I've heard of people going to salons that say they're using Shellac and it's actually another system that isn't as good. You can check out CND's website for a list of salons that carry Shellac.

I am on week one and so far so good! Minor chip on my right thumb and middle finger. I hope they last till next week.I have a bit of a growth line, not too bad. They are still very shiny. I had the OPI gel manicure applied a few times but they chipped the first week and continued to peel and chip. I thought maybe the application was not done correctly so I had them done again and the same thing happened. I have now changed nail salons and i'll see how this works. I will probably get a french gel manicure the next time.
